Fifteen minutes after the mobilization of the Lucius fleet contact was finally made. Much to the Xeno’s detriment it was the Lucius Pickette line that were the first ones to take pot shots at their foes. Their small section of space lit up as Thirty blasts of energy went flying through space and slammed themselves into a single ship.
While many times before it would have taken minutes for a single ship to fall from such attacks, the sheer volume of ships were more than enough to pierce the shield of the Xenos craft and obliterate the Destroyer. The Xenos however did not slow down even after the destruction of what might have been astronomic levels of resources.
TalOS studied the enemy formation for a moment and nodded. It seemed the other ships were trying to cover the Flagship upon the destruction of the Escort. Not like this shots would have taken out said craft but TalOS was annoyed anyways.
+Aim for one of their Cruisers. Even if it arrived injured we will have the advantage.+
+Understood Arch Dominus.+ the Weapons Adept called out.
After twelve seconds the next round of shots were fired. While with projectile weapons they might have had a chance to move their weapons about and prepare for the attack, but Energy weapons did not allow that. As it traveled as the Speed of Light it was next to impossible to dodge the attack unless they had supernatural senses belonging to the Warp.
The enemy did in fact have some kind for they moved in just a way that three of the attacks missed. However with twenty seven striking the hull the ship was damaged. TalOS watched as it stripped itself away from the battle and started to navigate away from the battle.
They will know now, it seems. If their communication systems failed they will simply be told in person what was happening here.
A final burst reached the enemy fleet, once again slamming into an unlucky cruiser. The ship did not fall but it was heavily injured. However, that was the final free shot that the Lucius fleet was going to get, TalOS knew that.
He also knew that to stay at midrange with the enemy was suicidal. They would either need to go in or stay out.
>Make a spear to pierce the enemy to board the enemy Flagship and get into turret range.
>Same as above, but TalOS joins the Boarding Crew.
>Back away and see about getting as much long range fire as you can.
