update coming...
>>6218025It has been a long day. Far too long, in fact.
You barely manage to keep your eyelids open, but Soralisa’s news are far too important.
And far too dire.
“That’s all I could find,” she sighs as she creaks the last page of her notebook open, displaying her diagrams and writings for you and Rubida. “Not much, as you can see, but what I did, I did not like.”
“How long do you think Willow has?” Rubida asks, wincing as she rubs her right arm. You set your hand over hers, trying to help.
“This is hard if not impossible to say. The records are scarce on the time it took for the Worm to hatch the first time. What I could gleam was that it took some time for it to grow inside Uxoria.”
<span class="mu-i">Inside.</span>
The idea repulses you. It feels like something is attaching itself to your throat and scraping when you think about what’s going to happen — what’s happening — to your friend right now.And she’s subjecting herself to this for—
For whatever reason the Seven laid before her feet.
Because she wants to save your soul.
Or maybe she thinks she already did that by making you fail your mission.
Willow was never the smartest.
“What I don’t understand,” you mutter, “is how this could be depicted as a joyful event in the pages of the Throne’s records. They saw the Worm raise to obscure Her sun, to bite into it—”
“The Thronelands and the Holy Land are far too close to each other,” Rubida explains.“There’s an entire sea in the middle—”
“And no other neighbour that could threaten either of them. A confrontation would be inevitable. This was before the rise of Frigéia, mind you. So, what we saw as a catastrophe, they saw as their worst enemy receiving some proper punishment for once.”
“There’s no love lost between us, is there?”
“Nay,” Rubida chuckles. “Rosandra is more of a threat to us than to them at the moment, but you have seen how dismissive she is of anything related to the Throne.”
You should probably find something nice to gift Sandora before leaving.
“So,” you continue, flipping your fingers through the notes, “when the Worm rose, they saluted it as a happy accident.”“The first time in recorded history Ansàrra had been challenged. If it had not been for Saint Bragia, the Worm would have won.”
“And she has only ever been depicted carrying one of those maces, in every depiction you found, correct?”
