You turn around and run! Before Joe can aim the cutécaptor, you're already around the corner and back up the hall. In a moment the door to the outside is in sight!
"Wait!" You can hear Joe's voice behind you as he chases you. Behind him, Professor Plumtree is shouting to use the cutécaptor.
The laboratory door flies open with a bang and you leap outside! No way are they putting you in that thing! Your feet crunch across the dirt path as you escape into the trees. A moment later the door opens again and Joe comes out with Professor Plumtree behind him. The two humans look at the surrounding forest, but you're so well-hidden that they soon give up.
"I'm sorry she got away, Professor." Joe gives one last look around.
"Don't be sorry!" The Professor pats Joe's shoulder. "A Cutémon sighting is a rare treat!"
"Well, I should get going before it gets dark." Joe looks up at the sky.
"Thanks again for helping me out!" Professor Plumtree waves at Joe as the boy departs up the road. The Professor watches until Joe is out of sight, then looks around the forest and puts his hands on his hips in disappointment before finally going back inside.
You stay hidden for a while longer, but the sun is starting to go down, and it's not your fault if you also happen to be going east!
The air is starting to get colder. Now that it's dark you can see the flicker of firelight in the distance ahead of you!
When Joe returns from the woods with an armload of firewood, he sees the common Rabbadrab that's crawled closer to the warm fire, but he also seems to sense you!
"Hello?" Joe tosses the firewood at the Rabbadrab's feet at digs the cutécaptor out of his pocket. He holds it up and you notice that the cutécaptor is glowing more brightly as he waves it in your direction!
"What? His cutécaptor glows when a Cutémon is nearby? That's not fair!" You didn't mean to say that out loud!
Suddenly Joe's head turns in your direction and he takes a few steps toward your hiding spot! "It's alright if you want to come sit by the fire!" He looks at the cutécaptor in his hand and puts it back in his pocket. "I won't hurt you!"
