A few days had passed, the group making their way through what were once simple hills and valleys into something that an amateur like Lucian would describe as mountains in his own right. So steep were these ridges that Lucian would have feared for his life upon some of them. A single loose rock, stone, or dirt would mean falling several hundred yards into the deepest of valleys.
He was only humbled, made to realize they they had not entered the Grey Mountains, by those very mountains now dancing within sight. A constant reminder of their objective, yet it seemed as far away as the sun.
Walking these hills the Knight found it odd that people still lived in these hilly lands. As they trekked across the roads that whined the hill tops and valleys there were numerous outcroppings of people here and there working on the timber or trying to make best with the small amount of flat lands they could make. A few times even he had seen a mining town, their existence easily seen by the black plume of smoke that hung in the air above their heads.
Whenever the mountains would be in sight, either through the canopy of trees or as they were on top of a tall enough hill, Adok would sing them a tune in the language of the Dwarfs.
It was during one of these treks, when the sun was high, that Lucian noticed the Lizardmen shortening the distance between the two of them. Such a thing was easy for they had been trotting across the path, but it also meant that they approached Lucian on purpose.
“Is there someone you needed, Tee-Nee-Tyny?” Lucian asked as he turned to face the two with a smile. As was his decision the Knight had left his helm at the hip of Nightshade, so that all would see his eyes.
“Yes, Tee-Nee-Tyny wishes to speak to Lucian.” The coldblooded creature said as he matched his speed, “This one had needed time to reflect what has happened to you, to understand what he had seen at the slaying of the Spawn of Chaos. Revelation has been granted to him.”
“And… what would it be?” The man said to the lizard.
“Lucian has indeed been affected by his chosen deities, mainly by the one who is associated by the winds of Shyish. The wind you know as Death.” The lizard said simply, “Time is upon he to work with his Master, to realize what secrets he is willing to give.”
“You’re… asking me to work with Morr?”
“Yes, Morr has given you favor and marked you.” The Lizard said as he licked his eye, “You must petition him, to seek out one of his aspects.”
