With the distraction coming from the explosion and the panicky screams that drown every other noise, you retreat to Ayde’s office with Vera, intending to find that gun the terrorist dropped. Bray shouts for you to come back seconds later after your escapade starts and chases with a considerable disadvantage, not that he won’t shorten the distance since you’re running while pushing a wheelchair — but it gives you enough leeway.
The scene back in the office is exactly as you left it, you look around for the gun in a hurry and find it by the corner. You don’t know how to use it properly, so you’ll be extra careful not to misfire or something. You take a deep breath as you point the gun at the door, waiting for the bastard. For some ungodly reason, you use your hoodie sleeves not to leave any fingerprints. Does this even matter? Maybe it’s too much TV. Regardless, you have your eyes locked on the door.
“There you are, you — WHAT?!” Bray gets so scared when he notices the gun that he loses his balance and drops to the ground. He knows it’s real. You want to shoot him in the leg, but it’s tricky now that he’s on the floor. “P-Please don’t kill me…! Look, no more sword!” He makes his weapon disappear back to the top of his head. He realizes something else. “You *are* scared! Put that away, even if you don’t have the guts, it is still dangerous to point a gun at someone! And — AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”
You pull the trigger and hit him right in the left foot. He screams and cries like a big baby if babies had a good reason for their tantrums. Guns are loud, way too loud. A cacophony blasting through the mass panic in the building, and the noise of a firearm STILL almost leaves you deaf. Your eardrums are ringing, and are kinda itchy. How weird is that? Anytime something bad happens to your ears, you want to scratch them!
...
Are you trying to not pay attention to the person you just shot?
“You okay there, man?” You’re probably yelling louder than you think. It’s awful being deaf.
“YOU JUST SHOT ME!” Bray grabs his leg in pain. “AAAAAAAH!!!”
“I mean, you wanted to stab me.” You refresh his mind. “And you tried to kidnap Vera, and… why am I justifying myself to you? You’re not even listening to me.”
