The best move here was to attack from a distance and whittle them down from afar. Sure, they could bring all their big guns to bear from this distance, but dodging it would be easy, their concentrated fire relied on destroying the whole area and hoping the enemy was dead, rather than striking a small moving body. Catastrovania could easily keep everyone safe by moving them or reflecting their shelling. If they were in the middle of possibly thousands of angry Samurai and their mecha, this would be even worse!
