>65Considering how many options for infiltration were available to you, you felt that getting in was the easiest part of the plan. And for the most part, you were right. None of the fowl flock could monitor each and every opening of the twisted, metal nest. And once you were inside, your spider-sense worked its magic and helped you to avoid detection.
Now, this didn’t mean that navigating the junk maze was easy by any means. It was dark, there were sharp, rusted pieces of metal jutting out from seemingly random positions, and the ground was covered with…well, let’s just say that you were glad that you and Abe possessed the ability to cling to walls.
Pair that with the fact that the mutant birds were scattered around the nest, resting and moving about in wildly different positions, and you had a fortress that was nearly impossible to traverse without prior knowledge of what to look out for and where to go.
You and your brother carefully mapped out the junkyard nest, noting potential escape routes and chokepoints that you might need to retreat to in case said escape routes were cut off. But as you went deeper into the nest, you became more aware of the fact that less metal and wood was being used in its construction. Old, cheap plastics and colorful glass pieces were starting to become a staple. And it was somewhere around this time that you began seeing the egg sacks.
They were placed everywhere near the center of the nest. Oval-shaped, pale gray mucousy membranes that wriggled and squirmed when you poked them. By burning away a few layers and tearing them down, you discovered that this was how they were preserving the captured humans!
Whether they were being kept as food, or for some other sinister purpose that the Kingfisher had in mind, you didn’t know. All that mattered was getting them out of here. But you had no idea how you were going to sneak all these people out of here without raising the alarm.
Some of the captives here could barely walk, let alone run. You doubted that they were being fed properly during their time here. They’d need immediate medical attention as soon as they got out.
Suddenly, an ear-splitting screech filled the air around you, causing everyone to wince in pain and look around frantically for the source of such a sound. Somewhere above you, a mutant bird was snarling and flapping its wings menacingly. There was no doubt that the rest of the nest had heard the alarm as well. It was time to break stealth.
What will you do?
>Volunteer to be a distraction and swing around the impromptu jungle gym while the others escape.>Start blowing shit up! Cause as much destruction as you can until Gwen can come to back you up.>Warn everyone to cover their eyes and ears, and start firing off flashbangs and bursts of high-pitched sound to disorient the birds.>Run like hell and use your web bombs to cover your escape!>Write-in.Pastebins:
