“Yes, I’m all set but when you mentioned good food, my stomach growled with interest.”
“Eh, if you’re doing this to try and convince me-“
“No, Nessa. I wouldn’t.” You try assuring her. “You could say that it’s my curiosity, getting the better of me.”
“Oh, okay. I guess this is for not being sleazy with Irene. If you would please follow me.”
Heading back inside, you follow Nessa and enter the house which you initially thought would be small, but as you go inside, a huge space that would be equivalent to that of a spacious living room in the city. Murals of flowers and mountains decorated the walls and from not too far away, you could see a spacious kitchen where you see Nessa reaching for the compartments and taking a few containers out, and putting them on the nearby dining table.
“If you’re thinking they’re leftovers, they’re not.” Nessa suddenly snaps at you before you could say anything.
“I wasn’t. I’m not sure why would you make such assumptions.”
“Well…Irene and the others have that kind of thinking but well for me, I tend to prepare a bit earlier than other cooks.” She explains while opening one of the containers and filling the area with a sweet aroma.
“They’re just pork buns so don’t shoot me that 'wow, I'm impressed' look.” Nessa says with a hearty laugh.
