>>5652828>>5652834>>5652835>>5652838>>5652841>>5652850Something I just realised from inventing this vampire oil rig roleplaying scenario: it solves the gormless predicament of those Alien Ridley Scott films / Prometheus, Alien Covenant etc that looks like this:
>oh look nightmarish body horror HR Giger xenomorph tomb vault>incredibly ominous threatening atmosphere>why don't I just lower my face next to this egg-shaped alien bioweapon unfurling acid vulva, and prod it open and investigate itSo the vampire coffin oil rig setup could be, the maritime scientists are commissioned by some billionaire NGO to perform some remote seismic research as part of some conservation / seasteading initiative (ahem !notPeterThiel). The oil rig is situated near some deep Mariana Trench analogue (hehe Cthulhu stuff).
The cover story of the MYSTERIOUS CARGO CONTAINER is that it is some sonar equipment / delicate scientific instrumentation or something. But speaking to the secret environmental sympathiser / saboteur NPC, she suspects that the container actually contains prospecting equipment for oil drilling! How evil! This must be the SECRET TWIST! So she really wants to open it and expose this nefarious plot!
Maybe there are some other hints though. Like the maritime team initially deploy on the abandoned oil rig with a suspiciously sizeable escort of assault rifle wielding private security. One of their attendants is some curious Middle Eastern / Iraqi translator. He keeps to himself, but if conversing with him you discover that he is not actually an Iraqi translator but an anthropologist / antiquarian who translates Akkadian or Sumerian (muahahaha VAMPIRE SARCOPHAGUS).
Then when the box is finally opened and the vampire unleashed, maybe they try all the stereotypical vampire stuff, stakes, fire sunlight etc. NOTHING WORKS IT IS UNSTOPPABLE. Also it might be cool to put some strange aquatic twist on the vampires (more on this later) like they are literal vampire squid people hehe.
The name of the vampire could be something like Utnapishtim (it's Noah, Noah's Ark) or Urshanabi (the Ferryman that Gilgamesh meets in his maddened wandering after the death of Enkidu). Maybe the secret plot of the horrifying vampire squid people is to raise ocean levels so they can feed upon a drowned and bloated corpse sea, like a vampire harvest Noah's Ark in reverse.
