You’ve got to focus on getting ahead and catching Morne.>Let Ava use her blades and keep your rifle on hand.“Very well. Then stick with your swords.” You affirm–as supernatural her senses might be, they’re worthless without experience. You mutter a short prayer for the fallen as you step past the scene. “..Come on. Another party can take the time to free them. We’ve got more important quarry.”
Your party continues down the thin hall, the uneven cobbles beneath you haltering your step and forcing you to keep an eye on the ground beneath you to progress. But, in spite of your fears.. the journey is short and quiet. You find no stray beasts behind the corners you round, nor do you set off any more traps. You feel even more uneasy.
You see it soon enough–.. a pale light at the far end of a long, final stretch of hallway. You release an uneasy sigh of relief as you make for the steps forward–
“Hold it.” The berserker grips your shoulder. “..Look a little closer, Von Gundyr.”
You squint–and sure enough, the hall is not the easy break you’d held out for. A fine network of threads web across the dark, just hardly visible in the glow of your lamp light. A lattice of twine..
“Mmmm. Morne’s fond of his tricks..” Ava glares. She examines a string closely. “..They’re tied taut.”
>Attempt to maneuver through yourself. You once won a gymnastics competition in your youth.>Let Ava fly past in her bat form. She may be able to deactivate some–or at least make out the mechanisms–from the other end.>Inspect the twine more closely yourself. Perhaps you can try to figure out their trick.>Write-In.
