>>5371723With nothing left for you to do here in the security wing, you reason that it’s best to book it to the server room ASAP, because that’s where all the data is of course!
Making your departure from the ransacked security room, you wonder how much time Valjean bought for you back there and just how much longer you might have before someone realizes that something is indeed amiss.
Perhaps this would have gone a whole lot faster if Eddie gave you more info on this building in the first place instead of having the five of you figure it out for yourselves. Then again, he did spend a large portion of his time as one of Atticus Charles’ unwilling lapdogs– Clyde’s as well. If that’s the case, then the technopath likely knows as much as you do.
Eventually, you and the rest of your team find yourselves back at the elevators you spotted before– the ones that would take you to either admin or the server rooms– and, like everything else in this building, the elevator also requires a keycard.
Looking among the three cards Boleski picked up, you’re not sure which one is the safest bet, because one wrong move could have security on your trail in the blink of an eye.
As you stand there deliberating over the keycards and trying to decide which one is the least likely to get the armed cavalry sicced on you, it’s Boleski who motions for you to give him the keycards. Doing so, he takes his sweet time in examining them, holding each of them up to the light between two of his fingers.
Clicking his tongue, you have to wonder if Boleski’s avian eyes see something that you don't, or could it be some FutureLabs-related knowhow that the man managed to retain? Whatever the case may be, when he swipes the blue card through the machine, nothing happens– at least not anything harmful.
Instead, you find yourself pleasantly surprised that the keycard was somehow correct, the metal doors sliding open. Once you’re all packed into the smallish elevator, squeezed together like a bunch of sorry sardines, you find yourself counting the seconds until the door opens once more with another sharp ‘ding.’
What lies before you is a large, open room filled with– you guessed it– servers, and nothing but.
Walls and walls of servers are organized in perfect rows, filling the room with a soft, blue glow that almost reminds you of Eddie’s signature color. In fact, there are so many of them that they end up blocking out the other end of the room from your sight.
