The battle begins with a symphony of blasts. Unfortunately your gambit of having them flee the moment the battle began didn't pay off, yet things were still better than average. Thankfully this flying boat's defenses were able to withstand most of it.
"Master! Requesting permission to send the clankers to guard the starboard and retaliate!" Gerty said as she entered the captain's quarter's.
"Permission granted." You reply. "Use the clanks at your discretion."
"Yes, Master!"
Cattleya was on cannon duty below deck. Bertha took it on herself to manually fire off the largest cannon, getting at least one good shot off. Mel had taken to using her invisibility while observing the other ship. She was able to shoot a person piloting a glider, and planned to focus on offing the pirate captain if she got the chance. Ruby was on comm duty again, checking to make sure communications were still active. Herta, after considerable focus, called down lightning strikes on the enemy airship and surrounded them with storm clouds, creating chaos for them. Ayane closed her eyes every time your airship was struck, but was getting better at maintaining her composure in the heat of battle.
Gerty made sure everything went smoothly, helping when she was needed or and backing off when she wasn't wanted. She personally made sure to put out any fires that started, and was always on standby if any needed to be healed. Thankfully the latter wasn't needed, but the former happened more often than you hoped. It's no exaggeration to say that Gerty was the mvp.
You piloted well, your skill helping you gain an edge against the enemy. You harmonized with Gerty, Bertha, and Cattleya in order to better angle for your cannon-fire.
Both your ship and the pirates' came close to colliding on more than one occasion. The opportunity for them to either board your ship or use the saws they had against you came and passed, with the harpoons they launched being cut off by clankers Gerty controlled and your swift steering. She did a good job on making the robots appear intimidating enough for them not to consider getting close anymore.
