Alexander watched as his Knights prepared their cannons and fired upon the encroaching orks. Many of the Greenskin quickly became a paste as they were given the rudest of awakenings by the Castellans he brought to the front line.
This was adequate for a while as the Orks came in a few thousand in number. A demonstration of force that was more than enough to tell the Orks that there was indeed a fight to be had here. Some of their fools decided to attempt a charge but those were quickly killed by the artillery pieces that the Mechanicum had brought to the field.
The issue was that it gave him time. Time to think.
“Why Fredric? Aren't I the bastard that stole your wife and caused a war between us?” The Prince asked himself as they waited for minutes at a time. He could feel the anger quake under him from Dominus Navarros but there was no longer an answer to the anger from Dominus Borgius.
The Machine was dead. A rivalry that was thousands of years into the making and Dominus Borgius had to be killed by the Greenskin instead of his own hand!
And here the last rider, the one who should have felt the lose of his Knight the most, was riding a new vessel given to him by the Mechanicum. He spoke as if he no longer honors the steed that had brought his family honor for thousands of years.
These thoughts were but a plague to him and Dominus Navarros. The only way they were able to do was start the fighting so that they could calm their nerves in the carnage.
And that he did as the Orks came from the Horizon in their numbers. He allowed the Avenger Gatling Cannon to sing into the wall of encroaching greenskin so that he could see them all fall to the ground in death and devastation.
The Orks died in the hundreds now as they came in full force. The Mechanicum Skitarii and super humans began announcing their own presence as the Orks continued to throw themselves at them with a devastating effect of death and destruction.
He could feel his worries begin to melt as the Machine Spirit was appeased by the gunfire and war. As Alexander did so he looked up to see the several more meteors of Orks come crashing onto the now bloodied planet.
The plans of the Mechanicum are coming to forwishen. The Orks have arrived in number.
