>>6136357This sandstorm was the result of sorcery? That was almost difficult to believe. You’d never heard of a feat of magic this grand before. So this was a taste of what the mages of Morfis were capable of? If there really were people living inside that thing, you were keen to see them for yourself.
>“So…how do we get in?”“That’s what I’m here for.” Alvin says. “Stay behind. It’s dangerous to approach the sandstorm without knowing the proper cantrips for protection. I’m going to inform the mages inside that we’ve arrived. When you see the tempest disappear, you may approach and join us.”
>“Are you sure that’s safe?” You ask, shooting Alvin a knowing look. Given his suspicions about someone wanting him dead, you weren’t sure how great an idea it was for the Adjunct to approach alone.“Positive.” Alvin responds. “I’m well-acquainted with Ithaca’s Adjunct. We can trust him. Wait here, this should not take too long.” With that, Alvin takes his leave, riding his camel alone towards the raging sandstorm.
With nothing to do but wait, you dismount your beast and stretch your legs. This entire situation was hard to believe, but so were most of the things you’d seen so far regarding this strange land. It sounded like you had some time to kill until the sandstorm dropped. Perhaps you would use it to speak with one of your companions that you hadn’t had a one-on-one with yet. Or maybe you’d get to reading that book Cassius had given you.
