>>5775888The key to the entire film Riddle Of Steel is in the end scene, when Conan's sword shatters (the Father's Sword). At the very end of the film, after he defeats Thulsa Doom, Conan just... throws his father's sword away. I was shocked by that scene, but afterwards I read an explanation of it online somewhere. The Riddle Of Steel is told to him at the very beginning by his father, do not trust women do not trust others etc only trust this (the sword, the steel) in the usual stereotypical Hollywood father transmitting the moral wisdom mode etc. Later on (in my pic related scenes above)
>>5775882>>5775884in vaguely messiah scourged before Pontius Pilate scenes Thulsa Doom vanquishes Conan by claiming that his cult power and influence to command crowds channelled through manipulation / captivating beautiful women with his mesmerism /propaganda serpent sorcery is the way. (See these anons on sixth domain cognitive warfare)
>>5775264>>5775303>>5775474The cleverness of the Conan film narrative is that everything his father tells him, and also Thulsa Doom's ideology is proved wrong (he can in fact trust women, friends - Valeria, the archer thief man and Chinese Wizard man come back for him and save him, Valeria even sacrifices her own life in the sorcerous bargain to resurrect him). That is why at the very end of the film, Conan simply looks at his broken father's heirloom sword, the attainment / fulfilment of his revenge etc, and just throws it away. (Also note the oedipal echo, the father sword was seized and used by Thulsa Doom to behead Conan's mother etc, following the sword revenge path caused Conan to witness the death of his love Valeria). Conan discards his father's erroneous philosophy. None of this is explicitly explained in the film, it still permits a variety of interpretations, but I think this is the most conclusive one
