>>5524096You reach for your bow the second you feel the last of the powerful spell leave your body. The magical forces inside of yourself feel diminished slightly. A good rest will be necessary to get yourself back into full magical force. But you draw an arrow anyways, its tip filling with a pulsing magenta light. You fire at the left side of the beast, the energy in the arrow rupturing as it collides with its target and vanishes, causing the mimic's left arm to burst into chunks of shrapnel. The amalgamation roars in response, thrusting its right side at you, its right arm swinging up and snapping clean off. It flies at you and shatters against you, sending you to the floor but not without destroying itself in the process. You feel a burning pain in your shoulder and glance down. A sharp piece of metal has pierced through your light armor.
You force yourself to draw another arrow, infused with magenta magic, and aim it at the metal skeleton. With no arms, the amalgamation has no way to move itself effectively, and can only lurch back and forth violently, its own actions causing some of its weaker joints to snap. Not taking any chances, you fire, and as the magenta arrow explodes against its target, the entire skeleton collapses back into a pile of lifeless scrap metal.
Your breathing calms down after a short while. You rip the piece of metal out of your shoulder. You are considerably injured, and approaching magical exhaustion. But at least for now you are safe, and alone.
