"Fuck." Maruyama lets out a shaky laugh. "Do I have to? I'll be honest, between two friends," He takes a moment to collect himself. "He creeps me out. Something about him is just <span class="mu-i">wrong.</span>"
[UNSTABLE] "How fucking vague, Maruyama." You spit out with a bit more anger than necessary. "Be more specific, CHUM."
"That fucking phase, 'Appeasement Work'. From that one weird girl you told me to call. I'm not good with anomaly stuff but that sounds like some P-Corp- Whatever." Maruyama sighs.
"Sorry." You meekly apologize. "Stress, you know? What did you find in that old office?" The two of you begin to chat between each other as you travel the empty streets of Avalon. It's a nice reprieve from the deafening silence otherwise present here.
"Rich assholes doing rich asshole things. Story of my life." Venom oozes from his voice. "So, the long and short is that some hot shot director came in. Liam Bean. That same shitty pseudonym as before." You try your best to hold back a laugh when you hear that name again.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. No one knew where that kid came from, though! Nothing! Like some sort of fucking ghost in the system! All of the identifying paperwork on him was obviously fabricated!"
"Wait, so you're saying some random director manifested out of thin air?" That sounds a bit farfetched.
"That's the thing. Despite the paperwork about him being vague nonsense, he was attached to a dozen projects almost immediately! But he fucked up! Oh, he fucked up! I found a name associated with every project he was associated with!" There's an almost electric buzz to what he's saying.
<span class="mu-b">"Audrey Krakatoa."</span>
"No shit, huh?" It's this family over and over again. A Krakatoa assigned you to this, you had to talk to another Krakatoa over the phone, now a fucking Krakatoa is involved with this abandoned place. "You think Liam Bean was another Krakatoa?"
"No doubt. Couldn't find anything on that regard but the most recent order he asked from Miss Audrey was an E-Corp Filming Assistant and to fire a Phillip Smith. Same as the ID card. Supposedly they intended to automate the whole filming process here with artificial slop."
"And look at how that turned out." He gestures at the abandoned scenery around you. He continues to speak before the silence returns. "I doubt <span class="mu-b">creating anomaly was anyone's intention.</span>"
"How come?" Maruyama doesn't respond to you at first but he hands you a sheet of paper. You read it in silence as the two of you keep walking.
<span class="mu-s">"We need to leave. Now. I don't know what shady E-Corp guy you hired but he fucked up. Robots aren't meant to BREATH, Audrey. Father can't know of this. Set a fire, run, hopefully that damn thing dies."</span> What a strange note.
You eventually end up near the entrance of train station leading out. Standing in front of it is Gregory, who is staring up into the sky without a care in the world. <<span class="mu-b">"Hopefully they're back soon. This place- Feh. No point dwelling."</span>>
