>>5426405With the enemy commander right in front of you, now is not the time to get distracted. You’ll finish Ivan off first and then turn around and deal with that damned Sage. Transmuting magic into your Silver Spear, you dash out from behind Sebastian and attack the enemy Paladin, who still seems to be in utter disbelief that his first attack failed.
>Transmute: 2/5>MAG: 24 + 14 (Silver Lance) + 4(Fiery Blood+) +5(Lancefaire) = 47 – 18 RES = 29 DMG (Ivan: 8/61 HP)Your spear punches a hole through Ivan’s breastplate, the magic completely ignoring the sturdy armor that the paladin wears. He screams loudly as the spear lodges itself into him, refusing to let go and allow him to escape. He swings his Flame Spear down and connects with your shoulder, the magic activating and engulfing you in a small tornado of flame.
>MAG: 15 + 10(Flame Lance) = 25 – 19 RES = 6 DMG (Blair: 30/52 HP)Compared to having your ribs broken and teeth nearly shattered by Dolofonos a short while ago, you barely feel the burn. Ivan’s attack hardly does any damage thanks your healthy resistance to magic. You power through his attack while holding on to your spear that is still lodged in the Paladin’s chest, preventing him from escaping, and allowing Sebastian to land one final clean blow. The armored knight pulls back his Silver Axe and slams it forward as hard as he can muster. He connects with Ivan’s chest, sending the man sailing off your spear with a wet rip to slam onto the ground, off his horse. (Ivan: 0/61 HP)

“D-demons…you people are…” Ivan’s final words trail off as the huge, gaping hole in his chest causes his lungs to fill with blood, ending the Crusader’s life. With Ivan’s death, the gate of Arcadia are now secure, but there’s still no shortage of problems you’re facing. Odesse himself seems to have opted to simply watch the battle, showing no signs of joining the fray. However, the Winged Demonic Beasts he’s summoned are another matter. They aren’t stopping to harass the Blackwings. Rather, they’re ignoring them and setting their sights on Arcadia. You try and think fast, wondering how you’re going to deal with four flying Demonic Beasts when your mages and archers are still out of position, when you hear a voice call out to you from above.
