With those words the research began. The amount of resources being poured into the operations was quickly becoming enormous.
The first and most obvious thing was an attempt to recreate the Sigils, a tried and true method of the Mechanicum when it comes to trying to generate some kind of technology from what was found. The Sigils were placed upon Blackstone but the stone failed to generate any field along with it.
Thus it was seen that the symbols by themselves were not the key. Or at the very least they were not being employed in the same manner.
Thus they were inscribed upon Blackstone and saw the kind of effect they would gain there. To the researchers it gave them something of confusion where there was a change. However subtle the replica of the Blackstone Obelisk began to grow hot to the touch.
How it was becoming hot when it should have been causing a change in the psychic channels was a mystery. A few of those heavily conservitive made rumblings but none of them were willing to be outspoken against the Sanctus Dominus.
Overall the results of their new creation were examined and looked over a dozen times. The wonder of the technology was something that few could comprehend except that it was an effect upon the universe. And beyond even that, it was an effect that could not have been psychic in the slightest.
The Priests knew that in that moment they were exploring a realm of knowledge that could unlock the secrets of the Universe. An understanding that if made could help them fully unlock their ancestor’s technology. Maybe, just maybe, they could surpass both the humanity of old and the Men of Iron that almost wiped them out.
But they were a long way out from that reality, that much they knew. It was simply known now that these Sigils, these Glyphs, had some sort of effect upon the Universe. As to how and why they had some sort of effect was now the goal of the Mechanicus.
