It is that pulse rifle from Dead Space, which also was saturated with utterly atmospheric art design.
A lot of completely original weapon ideas with an engineering theme like the line gun, plasma cutter, the hydrazine flamethrower thing (yes, it burns correctly in space) but this pulse rifle had a cool thing in the original Dead Space, he actually would vertically stand it up (like an umbrella lol) and rig the motor so that it span and fired in 360 degrees horizontally around the player. It was a cool though useless alt fire animation, but they got rid of this pulse rifle effect in the sequels.
