“It was the Eagle who urged me to return to these lands. He showed me a vision of thousands marching towards the lowlands. An army he had promised me, an Army to which I would be at the helm of!”
Lucian’s eyes noticed now the sculptures that were carved into the stone itself. Each of them a hideous creation further beyond what were the watchmen of the Norscan forces. Yet Lucian could scarcely call them sculptures of stone for each of them seemed to move on their own. Their mouths roared with the beat as if cheering on some worthy contender in the gladiatorial arena of fate.
“The Eagle has told me another thing, with his right eye which sees all that is to come, of interlopers.
Before him Lucian could see forces moving. As Nightshade galloped and Bok Continued his charge a force of ten men in the heaviest armor Lucian had ever paid witness to become a formation before him. Each of them were equipped with massive weapons that no reasonable sane man should be capable of wielding. Drawn upon those weapons were the artifacts of lost empires, each of them a symbol of achievement to the damned souls.
“Come forth defenders of faith, chosen of the false gods.”
Lucian realized that his eyes never looked upon the being for they did not want to. His mind, filled with the terror of all hells from all corners of the world, yet his body was trying to spare him from what was the worst of all things upon the world.
He was massive. The size of entire castles in girth and in height as tall as the Spire of Aquitaine. He possessed a single head, but made pronounced by the exposed chest was the many faces which now peppered his chest. Each of them looked at Lucian with licking lips as they could taste the fear that a man who should not know how to feel fear, truly felt from the bottom of his mortal soul.
“I, Grimidal, killer of Kings, first of Giants, and lone victor against the all hungry God of the Stars, welcomes you to this Temple! This Temple to the four and only true Gods of the world!”
Strapped across his body was several pieces of armor crafted in such a way that they did not impede the mutation. These mutations came as tentacles, as eyeless mouths and eyes without mouths. They came as giant holes within the gut where hives of ravenous insects the size of men floated like mere flies.
“Come forward, and be my most finest sacrifice to the Four.”
Grimidal, and all his faces, smiled.
