Last time on Cutémon, you met the human boy Joe, a young man with dreams of becoming a famous mon trainer, and the mechanical mon Onlion! As it turned out, they were traveling to the secret lab of the sinister Professor Plumtree, another human who has far-reaching plans that include you! The Professor gave Joe a device called the cutécaptor designed only to capture Cutémons, but you were able to... ahem... retrieve it from Joe on his way to Rust City and retreat back the way you came! It was there you blundered into Diamond, a menacing arena owner with an even more menacing mon of her own, the hypnotic Rattletrap!
Thanks to Joe, you escaped Diamond's clutches, and the two of you discovered an old dojo owned by Booker, a former mon trainer at the Rust City Arena and a good friend to the arena's owner Rudy. Booker's Torrentani was no match for the fearsome Combuster, but with Joe's help you were able to knock some sense into Combuster and the two of you journeyed on to Rust City!
When you and Joe arrived in Rust City, you learned that Rudy had died and the arena was now in the hands of the gang leader Carlos and his musclebound Ripmunk. Rudy's granddaughter Mashi, the rightful owner of the arena, was outmatched with her own mon Volito, but together the three of you concocted a plan to convince Carlos the arena was haunted by Rudy's ghost! As it turned out, you were more right than you could have imagined and Rudy's final appearance removed all trace of Carlos and his gang!
With the arena back in business, Joe took you into the wilderness on a hunt for a mon, and managed to capture an enormous Sailater, while you managed to strike a deal with a passing Ramster who agreed to pose as your own mon, with you as his human trainer!
Returning to Rust City, you found yourself caught in the middle of a mon battle between the ruthless bounty hunter Trent and his psychic Catscan... and Professor Plumtree and his own mon Onlion! Trent was only a pawn of the Traders, a mysterious group of rare mon dealers, and even as more agents of the Traders captured Mashi, Joe, and Booker, you managed to escape Rust City under cover of night along with Ramster!</span>
