The Coffin Lucian noticed was layered with even more gold than the throne room of the Dwarfen King. The top of it having a nearly lifelike visage of who was entombed within it. Across his coffin Lucian saw the runes of the Dwarfs, each of them meticulously carved into the surface with a steady hand.
He knew some runes, for Adok had done so when the Knight was learning to write. His eyes easily saw the title of King upon it. Seeing the age of the markings Lucian began to understand that perhaps the one marked upon this grave was perhaps the first king of this hold?
It was a good guess Lucian had, his eyes going away from the runes to the engravings that were scattered across the coffin and near it. Lucian had caught glimpses of artwork, especially the throne of the Dwarfen King. He thought that the King had the most detailed and beautiful works this side of the Old World. Yet looking upon this Sarcophagus Lucian was witness to what he could only describe as scenes of the past which made Lucian see perfectly what had happened.
Many of the scenes was the King triumphant against the numerous foes of the Dwarfs. Many of these foes were Goblins and Orcs, but Lucian guessed that a few of those long limbed people to be the Elfs that Adok had spoken about before. Driving them to the land beyond the seas. Others, Lucian realized, were the vissages of daemons the likeness of which Lucian never wished to witness.
Then he saw it, a face that he did not think he would recognize before. The Dwarfen King residing in the stone casket was kneeling before a Dwarf whose beard was of such magnificence that none would deny it. In his last moments of seeing the Dwarf Lucian had seen such a mighty beard.
“Hello, Champion of Morr.” Lucian heard the words spoken from behind, the Knight quickly turning around to see a dwarf dressed in the dark clothing that reminded Lucian of Morrticians, “The one you look upon is King Heldincrat, he who was appointed by none other than the First High King Grombrindal.”
“That… is magnificent. May I ask who you are?” Lucian said while giving a curtious bow.
“I am Keltor, High Priest of Gazul.” The black dwarf said with a returning bow.
Lucian recognized that name, for it was the name of the Dwarfen God of the Underearth. As Lucian understood it, the Morr for the Dwarfs.
