Deciding to take a more stealthy approach, you carefully crawled behind the building, avoiding the attention of everyone involved in the firefight. You found the generator that was detailed in the schematic, and started pulling it apart with your bare hands. Prowler taught you a thing or two about electrical systems and the quickest way to disable them. And despite the renovations that this building might’ve received in the past, this thing was practically archaic, and thus, highly vulnerable to sabotage. Moments after disabling the generator, almost all the lights in the office building winked out, causing a mass panic amongst the armed men and hostages inside. One of them peeked out the window to check out the generator, but by then, you were already crawling inside a nearby air vent to infiltrate the building.
It took nearly all your effort to keep from sneezing or recoiling from the massive amount of dust in those air ducts. Traversing them quietly was no issue either, but you did have to web up a few fans to slip through the gap and progress deeper into the complex. Once you were sure that you’d made it to the room and floor that you identified on the map, you double checked your phone, nodded to yourself, and silently slipped out of the vents through a metal grate that you’d gently torn off of its hinges.
Normally, you’d try to stick to the ceiling in order to gain a height advantage over your enemies, but you figured that that wouldn’t be an ideal strategy in this particular situation. First off, the ceiling was lower than you would’ve liked, and the ceiling tiles looked far too fragile to support your weight for any long period of time. They’d break and crumble from the slightest bit of exertion from you, alerting everyone in the room to your presence.
There was also the fact that the ceiling was exposed, while the maze of cubicles was infinitely more frustrating to traverse. Although, considering that the people who were storming this building were ex-employees, they were probably far more familiar with the room’s layout than you were. Arachne whispered something about AR goggles being used to tag enemies like characters do in video games, but you pointedly ignored her. Even a whisper from you might give up your position. They were already on high alert after that generator stunt.
You brought yourself low to the ground, and began crawling on all fours, using a combination of your super strength, speed and agility to propel yourself at an unusually fast pace for someone with this type of bizarre posture. It was like something straight out of The Grudge. Whoever saw you crawling towards you like this was going to shit themselves. It was almost a guarantee. So it was a good thing that you didn’t plan on being spotted.
