tldr: theral (protagnist) is fucked - his body is taken over by his ancestor after a critical failure roll when asking him for help in a fight. A few months goes by and his reptilian wife suspects something and confronts possessed theral about it.
Impressed by her love, his ancestor gives theral a choice - leave the kingdom with her and her child (in a different body) or stand and fight, but if he fails, he is dead for good.
About half the playerbase chose to take his offer. The other half wanted to risk it.
I originally chose to take his offer at first until rqm clarified the dark gods (his patrons) arent very pleased with our recent goodytwoshoes shenanigans in hawksong.
No help was coming, I thought. I changed my vote and chose to fight. Another anon chose that as well.
