>>6313097“What?” Saoirse remarks with confusion as she lowers her sword. “I don’t understand. Are they not your comrades?”
“I could see how you might think that, my lady, as I am a rather affable sort..” Crowley says “But alas, they are something more akin to pursuers. They’ve followed me all the way from Dagda here with the intention of taking my head and bringing it back to the lord they serve.”
“What did you do?” Butch asks flatly.
“I did nothing at all!” Crowley says, offended at the mere suggestion. “A fundamental misunderstanding in regards to a certain piece of property and its ownership is what this is all about. Unfortunately, Adam and Nathaniel are what are known as ‘Gallowglass.’ A Dagdan term for the country’s most elite warriors. In short they are very powerful men, who in turn are very difficult to reason with.”
>“So, you stole from their lord. What did you take?”“It’s not stealing if it was never his to begin with.” Crowley says, explaining this as one would explain an undeniable fact of the world to a child. “As for what the item was…well, that’s a bit private…”
>“You just beat five warriors single-handedly. Why can’t you do the same to these two?”“I told you, they’re Gallowglass.” Crowley says. “Five of those pampered Fodlan nobles couldn’t hold a candle to one of these guys. And despite how heroic and powerful I may be, my particular fighting style is, loathe though I am to admit it, ineffective against that pair.”
>“What does that mean?”“It’s a long story. In any case, I’d like you to defeat them. They can’t be too far ahead of us. I’ll provide you with one badge each. And naturally, you’ll be able to pilfer each of their badges. That’s a total of five!”
“Or, and hear me out, I could take six from you right now.” Butch holding Blutgang out towards the Dagdan, who takes a step back in worry.
“Wait, wait, wait.” Crowley says, he turns towards you hoping that you might intercede. “I overheard your conversation with the Gloucester woman earlier. That Elric kid, you said he’s possessed right? You need to break his sword? I can help with that. I know a technique that can shatter a blade with ease! I’d happily teach it to you as part of the bargain!”
In the silence that follows Crowley’s request, Kosmas’ voice makes another announcement.
“Contestant Number 12, Oleg, has defeated Contestant Number 14, Trent, on Floor 7. Contestant Number 41, Uriyan, has defeated Contestant Number 8, Bernhard, on Floor 8.”
>A): Agree to defeat Adam and Nathaniel for Crowley>B): Decline>C): Decline, and attack Crowley.
