>>6333341>how did last quest go etc...oh it was a good learning experience hehe near the end my brain melted (so judging by my own metagame criterion, of players attempting to torment and break the dungeonmaster lol
>>6329028 I guess the players won? yay)
I ended the game abruptly because I did not want to stray too far into unfounded speculation, the entire purpose of the game setting for me was an experiment in NONFICTIONAL ROLEPLAYING all the "background lore" was researched etc constructed from various academic and journalistic sources, I downloaded hundreds of research pdfs hehe it was quite exhausting, but I really learnt a lot about space, space warfare and space policy, yay!
The secret purpose of my games is to predict the future faster and more accurately than googl lol, so when the anons launched an ORBITAL DATACENTRE yay (2025 Oct 29)
>>6325317>>6325319They did so ahead of this googl Project Suncatcher announcement (pic related 2025 Nov 4) I actually stopped the game around here because I found this entire premise becoming slightly ridiculous lol the TCO (total cost of ownership) seems a bit premature given the relentless AI data centre hype (I also mentioned briefly how the MSFT underwater submerged sea datacentre experiment, Project Natick, which worked and was functional, was cancelled... you want ML datacentres in space?? hehe) maybe in a few years it will happen, but we are currently in the era of Elon Musk "MACROHARD" AI datacentre memes, facebook contemplating 5 gigawatt datacentres like Hyperion being built half the size of Manhattan lol, I didn't feel knowledgeable or confident enough to pass a future judgement on the state of affairs (and the anons evaded the in-game choice on artificial intelligence hype vs doom too) so I ended the game lol before gambling any more credibility hehe
And to be fair my two stat FUNDING vs INSTITUTIONS system was very simplistic, I originally had a hardcore system based on a delta-v solar system map and also SWaP (size weight power) spacecraft mechanics and also some trajectory orbital determination idea based on Lyapunov stability indexes, this was unworkably complicated (possibly all wrong as my physics just comes from reading wikipedia lol) so I guess the game narrative outgrew my simplistic 2-stat storytelling system. But I feel I crammed A LOT into what I had, you can read a partial synopsis of some game scenario choices here:
