>>5945628>>5945631>>5945811>>5945813>>5945814>>5946217There was going to be some lore about the vampires practising sky burial, I got the name UPYR from looking at the etymology, I read somewhere a possibly made-up speculation that vampire comes from UPYR "unburned" ie uncremated corpse. So the Unburned, the feral vampires are actually the true human survivors / descendants? of the cataclysm that reshaped the riverworld / floodland versus the city dwellers (maybe a Fallout vault or Metro 2033 situation? or those survivors from Tom Cruise Oblivion film lol)
I was quite attracted to the idea of "the world map is just one linear straight line a river endlessly folded on itself" because it makes delineating locations easier literally you could draw a line map like A-B-C etc, I got this idea from an OSR setting I read where the entire world destinations were just set along a straight line on a neverending bridge. There was going to be a setup where none of this lore was ever going to be explained, it would be portrayed as an ordinary medieval fantasy world, none of the NPCs realise the bizarreness of the realm in which they resided. But after spending a while researching and investigating this setting, I discarded it because it felt too ridiculous and unbelievable, untethered from reality etc also I didn't have tremendous confidence in my ability to create vampire wuxia lol
