Bidding yet another clan farewell, you make the return to Cailinn's village to see how things are going and finalize all that you need. Bearing gifts from the other clans you visited, you return to much celebration which cuts into your limited time but you wouldn't think of denying the humans their devotion to you.
<span class="mu-b">"Well look at you, now isn't that something?"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"Let me go... let me die, this form you have plagued me with is too much to bear!"</span>
Your first concern is your Namadan test subject, whom you can withdraw from the mutagenic pool in your sanctum beneath the temple. As you had hoped, the man has become fully aquatic and shark-like. Like yourself, just to a lesser degree and obviously smaller, but still no longer human. Naturally he is distressed and hates everything about this, upon regaining consciousness, so the transformation hasn't swayed his mind to obedience of you. But in all the other ways you hoped, it's a real sign of progress. And only the first try, you can't imagine what else you might get up to... the only disappointment you can notice, based on your divine sense of him, is that the change is not a permanent one. If he goes out of water long enough, he'll eventually change back, probably in a malformed way too. Though you still maintain the mutagenic pool in your sanctum which can periodically sustain the transformation, anything permanent would likely require divinity.
<span class="mu-s">"How many of us would you want along with you? Surely the whole clan can't come."</span>
<span class="mu-b">"That's fine, I don't need everyone. Just a few important ones, to help me understand the whole process."</span>
After checking on your experiment and settling in, your next order of business is preparing for the meeting. And to this you can cooperate with the village leader Osgar, with his help and support providing everything you need to know. Of course you'd rather deal with Cailinn, but as you find she's become quite busy ministering to the people in your absence. Not just for your faith of course... but also for this fledgling new faith that has sprung up around here. Divine as she is of course, people revering her increases her divinity which has made her something of a god in their eyes or at least a blessed and destined heroine of the land. There's even a crude shrine with her likeness in the village, since to some people a human goddess is more palatable than a sea monster. At least they all regard Cailinn as a sub-deity beneath and in service to you, but this is just the start of things for her. You're not sure you like the idea, but you're too busy to deal with it now.
