“...Because you’d been taken over twice in less than 24 hours, a few months back had been taken over by that Watagash thing, and before that, Baby… look, I’m not gonna sugar-coat it, that’s gonna hit the psyche hard. Be honest, are you okay?”
Yamcha’s grin slowly fades as he looks away. The sadness returns to his eyes. “…I’m not completely sure. If I’m being honest, well, I was willing to go with you and your pals because it felt like it’d be a way to help clear my mind after what happened last night. Pantea’s been worried about you and Gohan, so another part of it was trying to reassure her. I… figured this would be a walk in the park. Looks like I was way off.”
“Sorry…” you respond softly.
“Don’t be. I’ve just… kinda been trying to avoid confronting this for a while now. But the longer I don’t face it, the more I become a liability.” he tells you. “Maybe Vegeta’s got the right idea after all…”
“What do you mean?” you question, the mech tilting its head as you tilt yours.
“Might be worth it to invest in some kind of protection against this kind of thing. It’s been a pattern at this point, and I probably should look into some preventative measures.” he explains, sighing out. “Ah, apologies if this is a bit too heavy for ya, kiddo.”
“Hey, I asked.” you try to reply cheerfully.
And then you get a call on your Scouter. “Boss, you read me?”
“Loud and clear, Cheelai. What’s up?”
“We’ve found some odd stones in what looks like some kind of important room. Might be what you’re looking for.”
You make a quick sense where they are. There is a Magical presence in the area, but it’s not particularly strong. And there’s still something deeper down, something active.
