>>5401022"YOU IDIOT! WHERE HAVE YOU SENT ME?"
"Away. You would do yourself a disservice by dying there."
"YOU HAVE FORCED MY ARMY TO DIE WITHOUT ME!" Barnham's anger is so great that his strikes at the ground create creaters the size of a catapult boulder.
"Your counselor can alert them in time. Do not pretend that you care about them."
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ORDERING AN ARMY! YOU ARE A GLORIFIED MAGICIAN BOASTING ABOUT HAVING THE POWER OF AN ANT. YOUR ARMOR IS A DISGRACE TO THIS KINGDOM'S LEGACY!"
Gaiseric chose not to answer, instead leaving him to sulk as his burnt body is destroyed by his own user.
"Though if I have grown strong enough to eat at the clouds... The likes of Zodd himself should not hold a candle against me! Should I fight either of them again, perhaps I can defeat both opposing forces without being afraid of being hurt by Griffith's spells!"
"The Emperor should be heading to the sea after this encounter, aiming to bring terror on the weaker humans that will bend the knee to his conquest."
"The sea... Of course, that's where Vlad and the others are... I'll let them know not to go after my reserve food."
"Your alignment with The Halfling shall boggle the mind of all historians." The Skeleton shakes his head.
"A true emperor worries about keeping his system intact, instead of whether or not he is understood by his people."
"...Which makes it all the more easier for you to be forgotten the moment you pass..."
"Then at least my successor will have plenty more to look forward to. Any approval rate compared to mine would be considered an acclaim..."
Barnham admitted to rushing into the conflict so he could finish his big fight against Zodd and call it quits. Taking lessons in empathy just as much as Vlad became more prone to violence thanks to him, his exchange came at the costs of understanding the permanent damage he had done to several generations onto him. Yet he regretted nothing, as his ends justified the means.
Gaiseric knew where Barnham's path would end as a governor, so he took his leave to prepare himself for the coming days.
"WAIT!" Barnham lifted his hand to the galloping horse as he kneeled over, making The Skull Knight turn his head.
Had he finally discovered who he was?
"Do you have any meat I could chew on...? Any type of meat would work... I just need something that lets me regenerate... Those light shows were so bad I can hardly move my legs."
"...I have more pressing matters to attend to." Skull Knight departed.
"Heh... Cocky mongrel..." Being abandoned on the road, Barnham simply watched the mysterious knight go away, fantasizing about murdering him once Ilos became a name worthy of fearing.
