You pull out your sprawling mess of a map to look for the nearest train station. The others look a bit shocked at what you pulled out. Hm, seems like there's one that's only fifteen minutes away! Alright, that's where you're going.
"Onwards!" You point your finger in the direction of the train station before stomping forwards. The others shrug, following behind you.
"Alright!" "Okay." The two yell and murmur respectively.
The three of you walk in silence, none of you really feeling like talking. After all, you're basically still strangers to each other. There's still a question in the back of your mind though.
"Hey, Lex?" You chirp out a faux-cutesy tone.
"Yeah?" He looks over at you.
"So, uh, while we were waiting for Alexis...I heard someone talking. Someone effeminate? Did you hear anything?" You throw the curveball of a question at him.
A bizarre look crosses his face. He's deeply uncomfortable by what you just brought up...for some reason. He just turns away, not sure how to respond.
Alexis turns around, clearly overhearing the conversation. "And what did this 'voice' say?" You're not sure if she's humoring you or thinks you're nuts. Maybe both?
"W-well, it said something about the people passing by us being 'lovely'?"
Alexis can barely hold back her laughter at what you said. "Uh huh. Seems like whoever this voice is, they're pretty stupid. Wrong kind of city for 'lovely' people, you know?" She turns away from you.
You wonder why Lex reacted the way he did but...mmh. Not now. You don't have time to push any further.
The three of you eventually end up at a trashy, barely held together train station. Alexis steps forward to, either in an act of kindness or pity, pay for the tickets for you three. You're not going to question it. You save money that way.
The train arrives shortly after. When the three of you enter inside it, you notice how it's...empty. Huh. You'd assume there would be some cross-district commutes, wouldn't you?
[PERSON OF INTEREST] Look over there. At the far left. There's that distinct glow, that shimmer. Silver on silver.
[PERSON OF INTEREST] You're not alone. You are never alone. Keep an eye out on him.
The others don't seem to notice. You're not sure whether that's good or bad. Regardless, the three of you eventually find yourselves a seat on the train.
"...So!" You do have one more question, a casual one. You got a little bit of time to squeeze it in. "What do you plan on doing with your reward money?"
Lex is the first to answer. "Rum and Cola. Some good pizzas. A nice blanket or two. That's all, really." He answers with an unusual earnestness. Simple goals, huh?
Alexis takes a moment to process the question before speaking. "Paying for the equipment I borrowed. Investing into some other Agents and Cleaners."
Having gotten your answer, you decide to sit there in silence. Alexis pulls out her phone to respond to some messages while Lex stares out the window of the cart in awe.
