>>5301665“Please tell me you don’t intend to fight those three.” A frantic Corrine asks you from behind. “While I can certainly appreciate a good bloodletting every now and then, I must say I’ve had quite my fill.”
>“You and I both. We’re getting out of here. Hold on tight.”“I’ve never once stopped.”
Turning Beathan away from the three Wyvern Riders currently heading in your direction, you quickly make your escape. The Wyvern Riders seem to be giving pursuit, but after following for some distance, they give up the chase when they are intercepted by pegasus knights from the Knights of Seiros. You look back at Garreg Mach one last time as you’re making your leave. It’s hard to believe you spent an entire year within these walls, or what remains standing of them. Imperial Soldiers are continuing to stream through the monastery, and the bulwark that the Knights of Seiros had set up seems to have finally given way. By your estimates, the battle should be nearing its conclusion soon. Your thoughts wander to the Professor, whom you’ve left behind. All year you’ve seen her overcome any obstacle thrown in her path, including a brief trip into the void during the fight with Solon. Even she wouldn’t be able to stop the full force of Imperial might currently descending onto the monastery though. Nothing would have changed should you have stood and fought by her side, but maybe there was more that could have been done? Alas, you’ll never know, and all that matters now is making your escape before you’re found.
“So, where in Faerghus are we headed?” Corrine asks you. She’s still working her healing magic into Beathan, keeping the two of you afloat.
>“Don’t know. I know the general direction the Kingdom lies in, but I’ve only ever been there to fight. First Lonato and then Miklan. Any suggestions?”Corrine ponders. “Geography was never my strong suit, but I believe the county of Charon is the closet Kingdom territory we’ll find. House Galatea rules that territory, home of your good friend Ingrid.”
>Wonderful. “Will we be safe there?”“For a little while, sure. Given its current proximity to the Imperial Army, we won’t want to make this an extended trip. But at the very least, we’ll be able to stop and purchase a new set of clothes and anything else we require. At our current speed, we should be able to make it there in about a day or so. Quite convenient, this little pegasus of yours.”
>“Make it two days. It’s not like he can fly forever, you know? He’s tired from that fight, I can feel it.” Even with Corrine’s healing, Beathan was badly rattled from that Demonic Beast’s attack. He’ll need to get some rest soon if you wish for him to stay in good health.
