>88You lunged forward, hoping to catch him off guard, but he somehow managed to parry the blow. However, the force behind it did manage to throw him off balance. He attempted to interrupt your momentum with a sweeping high kick, but you easily avoided it and delivered a series of light jabs to his chest. He staggered backwards, clearly unprepared for the strength and speed of a metahuman.
At least he hadn’t thrown up from that. An intensive training course probably wasn’t the best thing for someone who’d just gorged themselves on pizza and meatball subs.
His stance became more guarded, and you waited for him to make the first move this time. After a long, tense few moments, he lunged, and you sidestepped his opening punch. He had good form, and his punches were sharp. He’s obviously had training.
Sam sent a variation of straight punches and elbows in your direction and you expertly deflected them, with the help of your spider-sense, of course. You had to admit, if he’d fought you before you were bitten by that spider, he probably would have kicked your ass. He wasn’t as good as Cindy or anyone else on your team other than you and Flint, but it was still fairly impressive.
Feeling as if you’d gotten everything you were looking for, you decided to end this quickly. After deflecting his next punch, you spun away, grabbed his arm and threw him over your shoulder. Sam hit the floor with a thud and immediately went into a coughing fit. He tried to scramble to his feet, but before he could get up, you placed a foot on his chest. He seemed to be surprised by how much pressure you could effortlessly place on him.
“Not bad. There’s room for improvement, but I’m seeing some real potential here.” you said.
“Really? Then why does it feel like you just wiped the floor with me?” he asked, looking up at you from the ground.
“That’s not too far from the truth. You might wanna wash that shirt when you get home.” you replied, removing your foot and taking a few steps back. You helped the kid onto his feet and slapped him on the shoulder.
What will you say?
>”Go home, get some rest, check on your family. Be back here when I call for you.”>”Take a breather. We’re gonna start up again in a few minutes.”>”Congratulations, you’re now an official temp worker for the Desperados!”>”How far away is your home? Do you need a lift?”>Write-in.Pastebins:
