Hermione processes her words, then recollects herself. When dealing with unknowns, it was often best to resort to the usual strategies. One could simply adapt from there. “Before you leave, I have something for you.” She stands and heads for her nightstand.
“Oh?” The girl just watches her. When Hermione returns to the balcony, she’s carrying her wallet.
“Here’s some money.” She hands the girl a stack of bills. “My phone number is [REDACTED]. Best of luck.”
The girl laughs a little. “Now, this really is unexpected. I’m not sure if I’ll do anything with this, but far be it from me to mock your generosity.” She takes the bills and tucks them into her coat. “I suppose that’s all, then?”
Hermione nods. “As far as I’m aware.”
The girl smiles. “Excellent.” She hops the railing and disappears into the night without another word.
Hermione glances back at the balcony table, with its various things to clean up.
