Last time on Saiyan Awakening Quest!
With Lavos destroyed, Rettace was finally allowed to rest for the first time in a while, but... surprise lurks around every corner, and there was no surprise greater than the strength that Glenn held, with the Grandreamleon, his power was equal to even that of a Super Saiyan's power. Even the discovery of Queen Zeal's survival was insignificant in comparison to the strength Glenn held. But... what other surprises might Rettace encounter on his journey?

You stood perfectly still as you waited for the dinosaur to finish approaching you, it was obviously trying to hunt you, and you were in absolutely no danger whatsoever, so you allowed it to get closer and closer to you. It was actually taking too long for your liking, honestly, and you wished that it would just hurry up and attack you already, what the hell was it trying to do? It was as big as a building, when it came to stealth, there were few things that would do as poor a job as this dinosaur, even if you couldn't sense Ki, the racket it was making just by moving around would've been more than enough for you to know where it was.

Finally, just as the dinosaur dashed out of the bushes and attempted to attack you, you just moved out of the way of the attack with great speed, leading the dinosaur to just smash its teeth together on thin air, stunning it for a moment. You looked at the dinosaur for a moment, it had black scales, and was clearly a powerful monster... you kept examining it as it tried to find you again, even using your scouter to determine the strength of the beast, and it wasn't exactly weak, with a natural power level of about 15,000, it was surprisingly powerful. To have a body that strong with no knowledge of Ki whatsoever was incredible! Even accounting for its tremendous size, the physical power of the creature was about two orders of magnitude above what it should actually be! You had no idea how you managed to overlook the relatively high power of the beast, but... well, seeing as its power was entirely invested in physical strength, it was still no threat at all to even people who had a similar level of power to it. It was painfully slow, and without the ability to utilize Ki, it was both incapable of utilizing long-ranged attacks as well as incapable of sensing its enemies. Even Kachi-Kachi, who was still nesting in your hair, hadn't bothered to even wake up from the attack.

"Hmm... you know, I could use something to eat... but..." You jumped on top of the dinosaurs head, and it started to thrash about wildly. Of course, such thrashing about was completely pointless, and it was completely effortless to stay on top of the dinosaur, even though it was desperately trying to throw you off. It was so easy, in fact, that you just crossed your arms as you stayed perfectly still on top of the dinosaur's head, even though it was frantically whipping its head to-and-fro to zero effect. Eventually, the beast began to tire itself out, confused and furious at what was going on, but utterly powerless to change anything. If it were a little more intelligent, it might try to use the nearby trees to knock you off, but if it tried, it would've just done more damage to itself than you.

The beast continued to roar loudly, even as its energy began to dwindle, and if nothing else, it was providing an excellent source of noise and commotion for Schala and her group to investigate. However, just because it was providing a good beacon to attract the attention of your allies didn't mean that you wanted to spend forever trying to calm the beast down to ride it, so... an idea flashed through your head. You knew that it was possible to use telepathy from when you trained with Khive, and though you didn't learn how to use it yourself... the premise behind it didn't seem to be that difficult for you to grasp now. Ki was a highly malleable thing, and it could be used for all sorts of applications, even being converted into Magic Energy. Magic Energy was still an enigma to you, it was seemingly some sort of highly specialized form of the energy that is inherent to all life, and by being so specialized, it was capable of far more than basic Ki. Of course, you wouldn't need to use Magic for what you were about to attempt.

Crouching down and placing your palm against the dinosaur's head, you closed your eyes and began to focus, sending a pulse of your Ki through the body of the creature, and establishing a telepathic contact with the beast... it was imperfect, but... it would do the trick for what you needed right now. You reached out to the creature's mind, which was a roil of rage and confusion, and you exerted your will upon the beast, forcibly attempting to calm the creature by suffusing it with emotions of calm, and... it actually started to work! While actually attempting to use verbal communication with the creature was doomed to failure, it could understand emotions, and... after calming the beast, you started to try to share images with the creature, imagining scenes of you easily defeating the beast. You could feel the fear building in the creature, but then... you shared one last image through the telepathic link you had managed to establish... that of you riding the beast happily, and... unbelievably, a feeling of acceptance emanated from the dinosaur, as if it had agreed to allow you to ride it. While this form of telepathic control wouldn't ever be useful on intelligent life, against a mindless creature like this dinosaur, you had no problem with getting it to agree to allow you to ride it without even needing to lift a finger against it. Of course, the violence was implied through your telepathic contact, but that was necessary against a creature that was as naturally violent as this one was.

With the dinosaur effectively fully subservient to you now, you cut the telepathic contact with the beast, satisfied with your application of Ki. Telepathy alone was tremendously useful, and it would be even more useful if you managed to figure out how to use it over a longer distance, being able to communicate and organize with your allies over great distances would be even more useful. Not only that, if you could do something like that, you wouldn't have even needed to have gone searching for Glenn and Ayla in the first place, you could've just asked the two of them where they were! The telepathic link went both ways as well, so once it was established, they wouldn't have any problems with communicating through it, even if they themselves weren't capable of telepathy!

Happy with your work, you were just about to set off to find everyone else, when you noticed another group of Ki signatures converging on you... this group was way smaller, and... the strongest only managed to reach a reading of about... 50? A disappointing number, though still stronger than pretty much any human in the era... it was then that you noticed just what the creatures were... and it immediately brought a frown to your face.

Clad in animal furs and wielding primitive looking spears... were what appeared to be Reptites... but what's more than that, they had appeared to have degraded quite a great deal from when you had last seen them millions of years into this planet's past. One of the Reptites, one with a fancy hat, pointed their spear at you, and shouted. "Aka! Aka! Tyno!" Before all twenty or so of the group starting running towards you, primitive spears held out in front of them. You scoffed at the charge.

I'd like to give it a plant based name, like Thorn, Root or Stem. Fits the Saiyan vegetable name theme.
Maybe Xylem or Phloem would be good too.

I really like Orion, the hunter, as a name for a T-Rex pet. Much more than I would for a kid. It fits with the name of Magus's cat, Alfador, who was named after the star Alphard. I'm sure Schala would like it.

Maybe some variation of Orion? How about Oranno or something? A combination of Orion and Tyranno, which is the name of the boss in the game, and it kinda sounds like oregano for the Saiyan connection.

It is imho the best jRPG and one of the best games ever made. You definitely should play it. As for how, it's a game that came out in 1995 and you have plenty of options, but the tl;dr is: Find and play the SNES version on an emulator. It's the original and still the best. All it's missing from later versions that's worth it are the Toriyama cutscenes, but luckily youtube exists. I dislike the keyboard controls and some changes they've made to the interface, but those are fairly minor. The upscaled graphics also look worse imho, but there's an option to go back to the original sprites. The major problem is the extra content. The terrible, terrible extra content that you're better off skipping. If you find yourself in something called Lost Sanctum or Dimensional Vortex, run away and don't look back.

If you're asking for games with Toriyama artwork, the only other one I know of is Blue Dragon but I haven't played it. If you want similar games then you can go for other classic jRPGs like Final Fantasy VI or Trials of Mana. And it's a longshot, but if you're looking for games with similar combat to Dragon Quest, you could try wRPG blobbers like Wizardry or Might and Magic.

They had instead reverted to such a degree that they were doing no more than screaming animalistic grunts at one another, any semblance of truly understanding language had apparently been lost. Deciding that there was absolutely no point in dealing with the Reptites, you quickly sent a telepathic signal to the dinosaur to head in the direction you felt Zeal, Magus and Ayla's Ki from.

The dinosaur roared as it barreled through the Reptites, sending a few of them flying as it just smashed its way through everything in its path, Reptites, trees, boulders... it was strong enough that it was able to just smash anything that dared get in its path. This dinosaur was the most powerful being that lived in this small underground world, that much was clear from just how effortlessly it could tear through absolutely anything in front of it.

Soon enough, after carving a path of destruction through the jungle, you were approaching the Ki you could feel, but before you got too close, you once again gave the dinosaur a command, telling it to stop this time. You didn't want Magus, Ayla or Zeal to get startled by the sudden appearance of the huge beast and attempt to attack it, even if you'd probably be able to effortlessly block their attack before explaining the situation, it was best you didn't let things get to that point, there was no need to do such a thing... not to mention that you were actually thousands of times faster just flying through the air than you were riding on the back of the dinosaur... it would've been way more efficient to have just flown all the way over to them and disregard everything else, but... well, you couldn't deny that it was quite enjoyable to just ride a dinosaur instead of fly yourself sometimes... you needed to think of a name for the dinosaur though, you felt like keeping him.

Leaving the dinosaur behind, you flew through the air at incredible speed, and in the span of a few seconds, you covered the remaining distance between you and your missing group, landing on the ground lightly as you appeared in front of Schala, surprising her, and almost causing her to fall over, but you were fast enough to catch her before she fell. "Rettace? What are you doing here?" Schala asked, confused as to why you had appeared.

"Well... you were taking a long time to return with Ayla, so I figured I'd go check on you. Nothing has gone wrong right?" They all looked fine, at least.

"Oh... it's nothing, really..." Schala looked at Magus for a moment, and then at Zeal before she continued to speak. "After Magus used a tracking spell to find her, it was relatively simple for us to find out where Ayla was, the problem was..."

It took millions of years of degradation for them to reach this point, but... the humans of millions of years ago had only grown more intelligent... in fact, the Kingdom of Zeal when it still existed was far more advanced a civilization than even what the current era was capable of... and likely of comparable levels of advancement to the future in which Robo came from. Humanity had shown itself capable of overcoming cataclysms like the fall of Zeal and returning to that same level of civilization, while the Reptites just degraded completely after a single cataclysm.

"I must admit, the creatures in this place are quite strange." Zeal noted. "I can only assume that this cave system has only opened up recently through some tectonic event, I don't recall anything like it existing back when I explored the world... though perhaps it was opened by the fall of the floating kingdom?" Zeal seemed to be trying to theorize as to the origins of the cave, but it didn't really matter. The Reptites were of no concern to you right now, the only threat in this place was that some of the wildlife could cause issues if it escaped... but nothing that Crono and Marle wouldn't be able to effortlessly deal with.

"So... any particular reason that you're still here, and haven't yet returned to the surface?" You decided to ask them, wondering if they were searching for something down here for some reason. Aside from the powerful wildlife, there didn't seem to be of much interest in this jungle cave.

"Not really, and in truth, I'm not even certain how Ayla managed to find this place either. She can't sense energy or find people with magic, so... I can only assume that it was pure dumb luck that she managed to get here... but all the same, Ayla doesn't seem to want to leave." Magus shrugged, clearly not having the faintest idea as to why Ayla wasn't prepared to leave.

"Find Reptite leader." Ayla spoke, as she started prowling around again, was she... trying to use her sense of smell to find this apparent Reptite leader? "Smell of Azala! Smart Reptite... maybe around still." Despite what she had already seen, she clearly believed that there might still be some danger left from the Reptites somehow. Of course, you doubted it.

These seems like the best, a casual flex of rettace´s taming skills, also for the novelty of riding a dinosaur which i think none of them did

I'm kinda wondering how big Lucca's ship is gonna end up being.
Doubtful it'll be Black Omen size but I want at least a large ship to fly around.
At least much bigger than Freuza's gay little frisbee, I want to show up and flex on him.
Wonder if Lucca can create energy shields tough enough to survive Freiza's spergeout.
She's seemingly smarter than Gero, who was behind 17s barriers, so maybe?

Also, after the fall of frieza the universe becomes pretty chaotic with a bunch of warlords, so are we planning to help the planet patrols? i could see it as a nice way to explore other planets and fulfill lucca´s dream of putting a teleporter in each planet across the galaxy

also, it would be a nice in between saga for us while we await the high end stuff that comes with being the time guardians. god i am hyped for the stuff that will come from having our own toki toki. i expect dragon ball heroes shenanigans but with a spice from chrono trigger (imaginé if we can get for a companion a post death glenn, with his sword and training in the otherworld, if he does wish for that training.) Though i do fear the time when towa,mechi and other villains do appear

Getting Gero's blueprints is fairly important, because they are actually more like bio-mechanical enhancements for 17 and 18, sort of the pre-stage to Cell.
16, 19 and 20 are the purely mechanical ones we'll be able to use to upgrade Robo.
17 and 18s augmentations being given to actual fighters could easily make some immensely powerful warriors. It took basic baseline humans to levels beyond Super Saiyans.
17s untrained Power Level was way beyond Freeza, which is why DBS 17 is so powerful, I think.
If 18 worked out, she could've stopped Buu.
I'm looking forward to time shenanigans too, also, we don't even have to grab Glenn from Otherworld if we start the Patrol properly, we can just recruit him from 600AD, right?

We'll have a few years after Freeza dies and before the Androids become a problem. My ideal post-Namek timeline would have us spend a few months on Earth RnRing and training with the Z Fighters and then a journey across the universe to expand the teleportation network and beat up more bad guys until something important happens and we have to pause the journey, like Schala getting pregnant.

And yeah, I'm really looking forward to the Time stuff as well. Can't wait to build our own Time Nest and establish our own Time Patrol, or for Mechikabura and Towa to take a swing at this Supreme Kai of Time and realize that she and her family aren't as easy a prey as they'd expected.

i don't know. bits just that quest usually take a little more in giving a waifu, but by chapter 6 or 7 we might be already with children. and that just gives me memories of another quests. like i don't dislike the making a family but this is a dragon ball quest, and i want to go around, battle cool characters and do cools stuff. But when anons start talking about wanting kids and waifus, i just feel that we will be filled with kids shenanigans and worse (this might not be fair, since wukong never had the chance to write it, but thanks to the other saiyan quest i am already tired of kids and all that. that quest was only fun when we could do saiyan stuff and it doesn't help that when the mc have children, usually anons never vote to pass the torch so the kids are usually treated like gotens and trunks but more annoying.)

It being a Dragon Ball quest is precisely why I made that off-handed comment. Namek is one year from now. The Cell games are five years after that. Trunks is born a year before and Goten is born right after. I think this, similar age to these two, is about the right timetable. Delay too much and and it'll be too late to talk about passing the torch (which I would absolutely vote for) because the kid might be too young to matter.

I think you're also vastly underestimating the time we'll spend in the quest before then. We're currently on thread six. We arrived on planet Temperus a bit before thread one ended. I doubt we're even going to get to Namek in this thread, and I also doubt Namek will take much less time than Temperus. Freeza is a more dangerous enemy than Lavos after all. So you're afraid we may have kids by thread 7, but I don't think there's a chance in hell of that happening before thread ten, twelve, or maybe even later. And before that, we'll have two months of space adventures before Namek, Namek itself, and then a few years of space adventures post-Namek. Isn't that enough childless going around, battling cool characters and doing cool stuff?

It's not an unreasonable timeframe by Dragon Ball standards either. Goku and Chi-Chi are a special case for many reasons, but they were married when Goku was 19 and Gohan was born when Goku was 20. Vegeta and Bulma are older but Trunks is born only three years after they meet and they are married only a year later despite Vegeta's saiyan autism. Krillin and Android 18 are married three years after they meet and Marron is born a year later, and Krillin is a pretty normal earthling with no saiyan autism to hinder his emotional development. Gohan and Videl, the most direct comparison to Rettace and Schala imho, are married when they are both 21 years old and Pan is born a year after as well. And if we go by Chrono Trigger, the only example that Rettace is going to know of for the time being, Crono and Marle meet at the beginning of the game and get married in the ending cinematic. The timeframe is unclear, but it can't be that long.

Rettace and Schala just met on top of that. Unless we get timeskips out the wazoo, we're not going to have any children running around. Rettace doesn't even have a house unless he crashes with Schala in the palace. Pretty sure that if it does happen and we do get kids, it'll have been a healthy amount of years in quest where Rettace and Schala can actually get to know eachother as people. And unlike the other guy, Rettace truly has genuinely autistic energy, the exact opposite of chad energy.

If you discount the amount of time travel rules we broke with the Chrono Trigger gang, Rettace and his squad are living and breathing past their expected expiration date. I'm pretty sure this will have major consequences down the line, especially since goku saw us in otherworld.

The consensus being was to overall calm down with the Schala waifu stuff, it was happening way too fast way too quickly when we barely know the girl, samefagging or not it was starting to feel a bit forced. No one wants the quest to die over a waifu war and I highly doubt wukong will even let it get to that point, but some people do have a problem with Schala and I think it's fine to air that kinda stuff, it's been pretty civil so far and there's no major hint of waifu warring, so I'd cool it with that.

I disagree, and it looks like I'm not the only one. I wasn't even the one who wrote most of the Schala-related write-ins, but I voted for them, I'm really happy with the direction we're going in that regard, and I will keep voting accordingly.

No one can force anyone to vote on anything anon, and I'm happy that other people are enjoying parts of the quest but you can at least understand where people are coming from when they say the Schala stuff is happening rather fast, I understand your apprehension to a potential Waifu War but denying any potential like that just increases fervor against your waifu.

The ability to generate and process magic energy was a part of the body, so by that logic, training should be able to increase how much you could handle... though training methods like that were kind of beyond you.

To replicate telepathy through what effectively amounted to nothing but observation and a little luck on your part, well... it just came naturally to you, strangely enough. You had observed the technique before thanks to Kami, so you were aware of it existing, but... you supposed that you just got lucky in replicating it so quickly. "Anyway, follow me, it's this way." You started to carve a path through the jungle, using a blade of Ki to destroy any overhanging foliage on your way back to the dinosaur.

After a few minutes of brisk movement through the jungle, you had made your way back to your dinosaur, who was as yet still unnamed. It looked at you for a moment as you approached, then at your entourage, before it bowed its head. "My, you really did manage to team the beast, didn't you? It's acting like some sort of tamed house cat!" Zeal remarked as she witnessed the act from the dinosaur, it clearly hadn't lost any of its respect for you, even animalistic as it was. Her gaze then moved to the cat that was clinging onto Magus' shoulder... had he really brought his cat along for this journey? Why? While you could've just flown up... you couldn't just continually treat her like a princess... well, ignoring the fact that she technically was a princess... though considering the kingdom she was a princess was didn't exist it... oh never mind.

Regardless, the two of you managed to eventually take a seat on the head of the dinosaur, and with a brief telepathic command issued through placing your palm atop the head of the beast, you directed it towards the strange source of Ki, having it stampede at massive velocity towards your destination, flattening anything in its path. You didn't particularly care about anything else that might be down here, and if a few Reptites get trampled underfoot, that wasn't your problem at all.

As the dinosaur smashed its way through the forest, you could feel that Schala's grip on your hand was tighter than before, obviously this sort of high adrenaline action was still something she wasn't used to at all, though if she was really going to be traveling with you in the future, this level of destruction was absolutely nothing compared to what may come in the future. You didn't know just what sort of enemies you'd face in the future, but... if the universe continued to surprise you, you had no doubt that they'd be even more powerful than Lavos, or even Glenn!

Of course, the dinosaur rampaged far too noisily and quickly for you to have anything even resembling a conversation with Schala, but you sort of expected that was going to happen anyway, you weren't exactly going for a quiet approach here, and the sound of wood rending and branches being obliterated was simply too much to have a conversation over without shouting.

Soon enough though you sensed that the Ki signature was close, so you slowed the dinosaur's charge. "Hold on I think that they're close. I don't know if they're aware of us..." But that massive dinosaur smashing through the forest should probably have given them some idea that something was out there. As you kept proceeding forwards, you eventually came onto a clearing... which contained a single building. It was a fairly large building made out of materials that looked far too complicated for these Reptites to have been behind the creation of.

it's not anti schala. at least not for me, but i am getting tired of anons simping for her, before she appeared, rettace didn't care about relationships. i get hype from the future battle arcs not talking about schala, so i first commented to anon that i found it weird that he was starting talking about marrying her when in the first thread rettace had show a clear discontent with the idea of marriage.

I think the sayian twins are cool but more in a platonic "I want to build them up and watch them go far" kinda way rather than an actual attraction, as a prior anon has said before relationships would break the cool team dynamic the three have(though I would like to see it explored a bit more since it was on the back burner a bit ever since we started the CT arc due to being split up and the now bigger team, I hope the larger cast doesnt diminish the squad relationship the three have.)

Then every update revolved around her. That makes a lot of sense, though my current biggest fear with the whole namek business is the massive unknown that is king cold. Cooler is scary enough but cold is a massive outlier and the possibility of him showing up concerns me slightly.
As an addendum I would like to work on the demon twins from both a meta and in universe sense, the former being that I dont want them to fall into the trap of never being developed because no one interacts with them and no one interacting with them because they're not developed, and they both have a lot of flaws mainly from a lack of team play in quest.

Wukong has given us multiple hooks to take and seems fairly knowledgeable about keeping track of what he wants to do with characters so I wouldnt count any of the squad out just yet.

I was only able to voice my thoughts on the schala stuff now because I only just got caught up with the quest. Honestly, my main thought is to deal with the spooky shit with the sayian sisters asap, since we have no idea how long they'll be out or how khive is going to act with her powers, if either of them is unable to learn how to control their powers by the time we get to namek it leaves them a massive liability and I really dont want to bench them since they deserve to fight frieza as much as we do. The main issue is we have very little idea of what we're dealing with aside from vague legends, but I assume time bird can maybe help with that because otherwise I'm not sure who we can go to other than vegeta maybe

The reason I think that wouldnt realy work is if one or the other takes a fatal shot in battle it's highly likely the other will go uncontrollable due to the emotional strain, while that's not q scenario that we would like to happen at all its still something I want us to keep at top priority. I dont think chroanoa will be all that keen on sharing spoilers unless time breakers are involved, which in are case are a FAR greater threat due to the lack of any organized response against them. Though if things get too bad we should be able to force her hand, but I wouldnt want to put that on her given she has her own history to deal with and she has no obligation to help us, only her want to.

For the Schala thing, I don't mind and i'll probably vote for the majority pick that was already demonstrated in previous threads. "Right! Ayla go! Beat Reptite!" Ayla pounced off the back of the dinosaur a few moments before you jumped down to the ground yourself. The scouter was something of a god-send when it came to not being surprised, though there was a limit to what it could record, and required just a small amount more focus than simply using your ability to sense Ki. You remained on your guard as you approached the hut, making sure that there were no traps or anything on the ground, though your precaution seemed unnecessary, the path was clear. Of course, Ayla wasn't exactly being cautious, though she was remaining behind you nonetheless.

When you reached the entrance to the house, you put a blade of Ki around your hand, prepared to deal with any ambush that might've been prepared for you upon entering, but... again, no such ambush occurred. "What is going on here...?" You remarked to yourself as you walked into the center of the room, the floor seemed to be made out of wood, and there was some sort of furry animal pelt covering the majority of the floor... upon walking into the center of the room, you felt the floor give way underneath you and Ayla, and... well, neither of you fell. "OK, this wasn't funny the first time somebody tried to do it to me, but seriously, does everybody in this era think that pitfall traps are the height of an ambush or something?" You were honestly kind of annoyed. "Come on Ayla let's find the joker who thought this was a good idea."

"Reptite trap fail! Hahaha!" Ayla at least found the situation amusing, but you didn't plan on sticking around as you descended down the trap anyway, it was a fairly long chute that opened out into what looked like a large circular chamber of stone... with some sort of ritual altar in the middle of it? What the hell was this place?

A reptilian sounding voice started echoing about the room. "You! You come here, foolsss! Reptite remember you, Ayla!" Oh OK, what the hell was going on now? Why did the mystery voice know who Ayla was. "For millionsss of years... we have sssuffered... thisss life underground, degrading our ssspecies! But... I wasss born!" The voice sounded like they were about to reveal themselves, but they simply didn't... smart.

"Like thisss, fool!" Suddenly, a tremendous screaming pain erupted in your head, as if your mind itself was being attacked! You nearly fell to a knee from the sudden burst of pain, but... after a few seconds, the burst of pain disappeared, and you were back on your feet, though Ayla hadn't fared nearly as well as you, having collapsed to the floor. "What?! Why... why are you still on your feet?!" The voice seemed startled that you hadn't been taken out by the attack. A mental assault? What a joke.

"Cheap trick, now how about you come out and fight me, before I lose my temper and decide that this jungle cavern would look better as a magma pool?" You were pissed. You weren't letting it show right now, but... that attack had really pissed you off, having managed to bypass your normal defenses and attempt to attack your mind... you were lucky that you managed to resist it, otherwise you'd have been beaten without a fight!

After a few seconds of focus, you got a read on a bizarre abnormality in the surrounding Ki. "There you are." You spoke with a smirk as you dashed forwards, crashing through multiple meters of dirt and rock as you rushed towards the Ki signature that you had locked onto faster than they could react to. Eventually after you had tunneled your way through the obstacles in your way, you found yourself standing in another chamber, smaller than the one you had just 'fought' Ayla in, and backed against a wall you could see your target... a Reptite far more familiar in appearance to the Reptites of this planet's past was clutching a wooden staff of some variety as they looked at you. "Surprised that your little trap didn't work? Where's all your confidence gone? Just a moment you were talking about how you were going to restore the Reptite Race, weren't you?" You took a step towards your target as you gathered Ki around your hand, primed to execute the Reptite.

"Wait! Ssstop! Please!" The Reptite finally spoke as you started to approach them, and they threw down their weapon. "It... I didn't want to attack you either... but... you need to underssstand... It mindcontrolled Ayla with a snap of its fingers. Ayla is the strongest of Crono's group after Glenn. She's the third strongest person we know, after us and Glenn, actually. Even if it behaves for now for fear of us killing it, what happens after we leave in ten months? It'll be able to mind-control Crono and Marle and genocide the humans. This reptite is too dangerous to let live. And we can't bring it with us either, or we'll have to be looking over our shoulders forever. What happens if we trust it, bring it with, and it decides to start mindcontrolling people while we're fighting Freeza? We'll be utterly fucked.

This Reptite seems to be all psychic ability and physically weak though and if Lucca has a prism helm, she should be protected. Not sure what gear the Chrono crew has. Khive is pretty damn strong too, like she's a healer, but she's also a saiyan.
I also just really feel like Rettace would sympathize with the Reptite, since he found out about the destruction of the saiyans recently and the feelings brought about by that and it pretty much has millions of years of the same thing built up.

Just because you were deferring the judgment of the Reptite to Ayla, it didn't mean you were about to show them any mercy if they tried to escape that judgment.

The Reptite followed in silence as you walked back through the tunnel you had bored through the terrain, back to the central stone chamber that you defeated Ayla in. The woman was slowly rising to her feet again, and looked at you and the Reptite following you, her expression turning from one of curiosity to one of regret. "Sorry attack. Didn't mean." Ayla apologized for her being controlled and you shook your head.

"Don't worry, this Reptite here was the one responsible for taking control of you. But I'm going to let them make their case before you and let you decide what we do about them." You had already heard what the Reptite would use in their defense, and it really all hinged on whether Ayla was feeling more merciful than you were. While you didn't care either way whether they lived or died, you understood that even if their ability to control minds wasn't as powerful as you feared it might be, they were still quite a significant threat to the humans of the planet.

"Ok. Say why." Ayla was brief, clearly she wanted to get to the bottom of what had happened, and determine for herself whether this Reptite was a real threat or not..

Glenn especially... of course, you doubted any of you would stand a chance against Lavos before you used the Chrono Trigger to stop him, even with the powers you had now.

"Yeah, I killed him yesterday, actually. But we're getting off-topic." You answered in an almost casual manner. "I died during that fight too, but... I got better." You were mostly just talking to confuse Azala at this point.

"Sssso the first ssscourge wasn't a scourge... but a sssavior? What a pity that they were only a sssavior for the humansss, and not for the Reptitesss." Well, what could you say, even if they weren't Saiyans, the humans of this planet did look very much similar to your race... perhaps that was why the Tuffles decided to cooperate with the Saiyans themselves, all those years ago? Had the similarities in appearance lead the Tuffles to empathizing with the Saiyans? "But... as to why I attacked, I believed that you had come to kill me as you had killed me all those millions of years ago."

"OK, so we're letting them live? That's fine." You just shrugged as you crossed your arms. With the long overdue peace between Humans and Reptites forged here, there wasn't much of a reason to stick around. Well... unless you actually wanted to help the Reptites now, the knowledge they had millions of years ago would certainly have led them to a technological space empire had the arrival of Lavos not snuffed out their early civilization... perhaps helping them get re-established could actually help Temperus in the long run? In a way, they were somewhat like the Tuffles. Two species living on the same planet, one that had a great strength and resilience and the other with a great intellect... though in modern times, the strength of Humans had degraded almost to the same degree that the Reptite's intelligence had.

Where before you had wanted to kill the reptite for taking control of Ayla, now you only really felt pity for them... it was a strange emotion for a Saiyan to have, to empathize for those less fortunate than themselves... but the revelation of the destruction of your own species had changed a great deal about you... and not just in that it allowed you to transform into a Super Saiyan, either.

"Of course. I don't have much of a reason to lie about this, do I?" You understood why Azala might've been hesitant to trust your word. You had just threatened to murder them, though a lot of that was their fault. Neither you or Ayla would've been hostile to the Reptite had they just been willing to talk from the start... but at the same time you couldn't fault their caution. If you saw Freeza walking towards you, you absolutely wouldn't respond peacefully... so it was probably a little hypocritical for you to think about things that way.

"I sssuppossse you don't..." The Reptite nodded in agreement. "But do you really think that there'ssss a chance to sssave my people?" Azala sounded skeptical of your idea, of course that would be natural given the fact that the Reptites had been unable to slow their decay for millions of years, but Lucca was clearly more intelligent than any Reptite who ever lived.

"Well, unless we try, we won't find out, will we?" You shrugged as you started to walk away from the woman. "I'll probably be back at some point later in the year." Lucca would be very busy for the next few months, and giving her a side project to restore the Reptite race back to at least some degree of their former intelligence could possibly split her attention away from focusing on creating the ship, and you wanted the ability to take to the stars back as soon as possible. You still needed to make Freeza pay for what he did, and the sooner you did so, the better. Who knows how many other innocent lives he was out destroying at this very moment?

Azala still didn't seem entirely convinced you would have any luck at doing what you said, but you weren't going to attempt to convince them any more than you had already. You'd come back with Lucca at some point when the ship was nearer completion, and then you'd see if Lucca had any ideas for reversing the natural degradation of the Reptites... there had to be a cause for it, especially if it continued even with the continued efforts of Azala and all of their ancestors that only ended up in failure. "Come on, Ayla. Let's go." You took to the air as you looked at the still grounded Ayla, who was still turned towards the Reptite. What could she be thinking about now?

Ayla finally turned to leave and took to the sky just as you did, following you out of the underground chamber through the hole the two of you had originally fell through. Leaving the ramshackle looking house, you stretched your limbs, the artificial light of the jungle was fairly uncomfortable compared to the natural light of the surface, but... it was better than the torch lit darkness of the chamber you were just in.

As you left the building, you were quick to spot Schala and the rest of your group waiting close by for you to return… oddly enough, they looked awfully tense.

You walked over to the gathered group, confused as to why they looked so on edge right now, had something happened out here? It didn’t look like there had been any fighting, so… what could it have been?

Schala hurried over to you. “Rettace? Are you OK? We felt the earth shaking, and we wondered if you might’ve gotten into a fight! I wanted to help, but... Magus said that we’d all just get in your way right now…” Schala sounded a little bit disappointed at having to stay behind, and though it was quite an unfortunate thing to admit, Magus was right, pretty much all of your allies right now save Glenn couldn’t compare to you when you got serious, and against a true enemy of similar strength to you, anybody who couldn’t keep up could end up being targeted. In a way, it was somewhat fortunate that your strength wouldn’t rise any further for a few months. You were still a Saiyan, after all, and while growing more powerful was instinctual to a Saiyan, you felt like growing too strong would be a detriment to you, after all, a battle where you were able to win effortlessly wasn’t a battle at all!

“Don’t worry, it wasn’t anything serious. I just had to have a chat with the current leader of the Reptites. Things have been resolved now.” You nodded. “The Reptites aren’t exactly what you’d be able to call anything even closely resembling a threat. Especially not to Crono and Marle.” Even if the Reptites did attempt to form some sort of invasion upon the surface world somehow, they wouldn’t even be a challenge to Crono or Marle.

“Oh… I’m glad.” Schala was worried about you for nothing. Though you had been taught the lesson that you weren’t actually invincible by Parzlee when she went berserk and by Glenn when he wielded the full power of his new blade, you were still strong enough that you weren’t really at threat of anything down here, the closest thing to a threat was Azala’s mind control technique, and that didn’t work on you anyway.

You looked at the large dinosaur that was a short distance away from the group, and you briefly wondered what to do with the creature. Taking it with you would be a challenge, but… you could just blast a hole through to the surface and carry it upwards if it came down to it… it also might be a little impractical to have a giant dinosaur around all the time though.

Can the dino even realistically fit on the ship? and even if it can fit I feel like it'd be somewhat irresponsible to keep a pet near an active war zone and with Lucca's teleportation stuff we could always just visit it here. I don't really have a name in mind so I'll just go with whatever someone else says

The name suggested by another anon. The hunter is a fitting name for our T-Rex, and a constellation keeps to the family theme for pet names, since Magus's cat was named after the star Alphard. Blasting open a sinkhole so close to Truce sounds like a terrible idea too, when we have someone who can probably open a big enough portal right there.

Going with Oranno. Cross between Orion and Tyranno. Our dinosaur buddy is a Tyranno, and Orion is the name of the hunter constellation. On top of that, Oranno is a pretty convincing mismatch of the word oregano, a type of herb AND a fitting saiyan-like name.

You looked at the dinosaur you tamed for a moment, thinking about just what you ought to do with the beast, it was pretty docile around you and your allies right now, so it was clear that it wasn’t just some sort of temporary thing. Your display of power towards the beast had clearly managed to render it your permanent subordinate. But… it didn’t have a name right now.

“Hey, Schala… do you think you can make a portal to get us out of this place?” You could attempt to blast a hole in the roof, but that could cause a collapse, and that wouldn’t be great for the Reptites.

“A portal? Of course.” Schala sounded prideful in her own ability to create openings in space, and you couldn’t blame her for feeling like that, her magic was pretty incredible. If she were to get a little more spare magic energy, the things she could accomplish all by herself would be unreal.

“Do you think you can make it big enough to fit my new dinosaur?” You kinda wanted to take the easy way out, and that was certainly through going through a portal large enough for him instead of trying to physically take him to the surface by flying him up.

A period of silence passed between you and the girl as she stared at you, uncertain if you were actually being serious or not about keeping the beast. Finally, after some time, she opened her mouth again. “Why?”

“Well… he’s one of the strongest beasts I’ve seen, and I think he’d be a useful ally, especially if I train him.” You walked over to the black scaled beast and put a hand on its forehead. “I think I’ll name him… Oranno.” The name just came to you as a good name for the beast, and while you didn’t know how many battles you’d end up riding him into, you couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to have a creature more powerful than any Saiyan alive when you left all those years ago as a mount. Ayla looked at the dinosaur with excitement in her eyes, at least somebody seems to be enthusiastic about your decision.

She looked at the dinosaur for a moment, “Oranno? I like the name, but… are you sure it’s a good idea? No… never mind, I’m sure that you know what you’re doing… if you’re certain the beast is loyal, then it’s fine.” She then paused. “I’m going to need some of your spare energy if you want me to make one large enough for your new dinosaur though.” She held her hand out to you to hold, and you walked forwards in order to grab it. Flowing your Ki into her body in order for her to convert it into the power that she needed in order to create a portal.

Queen Zeal and Magus looked on in silence as Schala held her hand to the sky and started glowing with magical power, sparkles of light emanated off of her body as she started to open a truly massive portal in front of you all, it started off as a disk just slightly bigger than she was, which continued to expand outwards, you could hardly even feel the drain on your energy as Schala finished the portal, creating a glowing blue gateway that would lead you back to somewhere on the surface.

As you looked at the portal, you felt a question come to mind. “Hey… Schala, would it possible for you to move those portals?” She had increased the size of the portal, so you wondered if it was possible to somehow move them when they were already formed, in order to create cutting blades that could slice through anything!

“Hmm? Maybe, but… recalculating the coordinates of translocation at the same time and spending all that magic… isn’t that easy for me.” Schala shook her head. “I could only budge this portal a few steps away from me, for example.” Darn, at least it was theoretically possible, she just sounded like she needed more magic to do it.

“Oh, it’s nothing, I was just thinking of something, but it’s not important.” You offhandedly waved the matter aside, there was no point in talking about things like that any further with Schala until she was a little stronger and more capable of fighting and casting great spells on her own. “Let’s go.” You called to your group as you patted Oranno on the snout, having everyone exit through the massive portal at the same time.

After your vision adjusted to the natural daylight of the outside world, you noticed that you were standing in the Millennium Square, nearby, the sound of a bell ringing could be heard. People started to scream and run away from Oranno and you sighed. You probably should’ve specified Schala not bring the portal to a populated place, but oh well. Schala looked a little bit embarrassed at her minor gaffe, but you decided against bringing it up. It was your plan to bring a dinosaur with you in the first place, so you’d just be a hypocrite.

“It’s been a while since people fled from me in terror, and they’re just running away from your dumb beast.” Magus sighed deeply as he covered his face with one of his hands. “I’ve got to say, being upstaged by a giant lizard is… not what I was expecting.” Magus didn’t sound all too happy at the commotion that you had caused, while Ayla was just scratching her head, confused at why the people were scared of the cool dinosaur.

“Good grief, what a mess…” Zeal didn’t seem to be happy about all the people running from her either, though it seemed that her reasons were… at least a little different to Magus’ own… Schala was staring daggers at her brother for his momentary relapse into pretending he we was still a demon king

At this point it wasn't like you could possibly cause any more massive panic than you already had, seeing as most of the population of the city had already fled by now... besides, you kind of enjoyed being able to ride atop Oranno, while it was nowhere near as fast as just traveling to places using your own abilities, there was a certain enjoyment to being able to ride the beast with everyone else. It was a little bit more fun than just flying around yourself... at least while having to slow your pace so that everyone else could keep up with you, that was.

"Hmm... good idea, I suppose now that we have the beast with us, we may as well make good use of it." Magus shrugged. "Besides, I've had enough of senselessly trudging around forests for at least a month... if not maybe my whole life." He glanced at Ayla, frustrated at having had to seek the prehistoric woman out, clearly.

"I'm with J-" Schala coughed into her hand, hiding her mistake. "Magus on this one... I didn't want to say much, but... navigating through that underground jungle did get a little bit exhausting... and I was actually trying to make a portal directly to the Castle earlier... I guess I need more practice when it comes to keeping the locational vectors the same when the radius of the portal increases... now what was the theory...?" Schala started to ponder something complex related to her magic, and you decided it would probably be best not to ask what exactly she was going on about, while you had a great deal of natural talent with magic yourself, or so it seemed, whatever advanced magical theory that Schala had been taught to harness was... well unfortunately beyond you. It was mostly an instinctual thing for you, anyway. Though it didn't sound too difficult to figure out just what she was talking about, you'd definitely need to spend a few weeks studying magic theory... or maybe that was exactly what you needed? After all, it's not like you'd be growing physically more powerful in the coming weeks thanks to Kachi-Kachi's assistance, so obviously it would be better to grow in skill and technique instead... maybe you should ask Schala if she could help tutor you?

"Well, guess that settles it, Ayla?" You turned to the cave woman, who simply smiled as she looked at Oranno, she was clearly happy with the idea.

"Ayla good at ride dinosaur." The woman nodded her head as she looked at Oranno, and you turned to face Zeal, who looked a little bit concerned with the dinosaur's existence.

Zeal made an observation about the beast, noting the similarities in size at least to what the Kingdom of Zeal was once able to create. "But... for something this large to have occurred naturally, all by itself?" She sounded just a little confused by the sheer size of the dinosaur you had found, of course, it was no slouch in the strength department either, especially not if you figured out a way for a beast like this to properly harness its natural abilities and empower itself with Ki. You could only just begin to imagine where the peak of this creature's power would end up if it was able to use the abilities that came to so many martial artists naturally through their training.

"Then let's go! Schala, would you like to ride up front again?" The blue haired girl nodded and smiled, and you returned her smile before you climbed to the top of the dinosaur's head and waited for her to climb up after you. Of course, she was slower than you, but she didn't have any real difficulty climbing up to the top of the creature's head... it was fortunate that the dinosaur was laying its head on the floor for her sake.

When everyone had climbed atop the dinosaur, you pointed it forwards towards the castle in the distance, and bellowed a single command!

"Oranno! Let's go!" You of course didn't know if the beast was able to comprehend the language you spoke, but it followed your commands regardless of if it was able to truly understand their meaning or not, whatever telepathic link you had in place with the beast seemed to have remained at least in some way, to the degree that it could understand what you wanted from it without having to directly telepathically command it anymore!

The dinosaur roared as it set off towards the castle in the distance, smashing through trees without difficulty, but refraining from going the fastest it could reach, after all, it's not like there was really a reason for the beast to carve a path of destruction directly through the forest, especially considering that there were multiple pathways already cut through it to be used.

"This has been... a long day." Schala sighed as she looked down from the top of the beast as it raced towards the castle. The girl seemed to simply be trying to make conversation. "Is this a new occurrence, or do interesting things just happen around you, Rettace?"

The memory of waking up after your crash on Onisthena came to mind and you grit your teeth. "Somehow, my space pod crash landed on the planet a long way away from here, where Euca and Sycam came from." Schala failed to suppress a laugh, and you raised an eyebrow... "What's so funny about that?"

"Oh no, it's... it's nothing, but I realized that this meant that you'd only ever arrived at places by crashing..." Oh... damn, she's actually right as well. But it's not like you could really be blamed for either of the crashes, hell it's not like you could've even done anything about them without having known what was going to happen ahead of time.

"Hey! Neither of those crashes were my fault, the first time was because my pod was set on a collision course with a meteor swarm, and the second time is because Lavos attacked!" You didn't know what exactly drove you to protest to Schala's laughter, but you could tell that she was just playing around.

Schala giggled. "I... I'm not mocking you, I just think it's fitting, you always do make a big entrance, even if that means falling out of space." Oh... fair enough, but with any luck, thanks to Lucca's efforts, your time crashing into the surface of planets will have come to an end. "At least you never did something like crash a time machine into the side of Lavos."

"Huh?" You looked at Schala, and the girl just shrugged. What the hell was she talking about right now? Crashing a time machine into Lavos?

"Potential future I saw during my time bonded with Lavos... nothing to worry about, but please promise me you won't try to use ramming as a strategy in the future..." Schala gave an awkward smile, and you just looked on with confused eyes. What did that have to do with anything?

Gather information first, if a chance to find Freeza presents itself we can follow it but for now let’s not get too eager to rush into the fight.
Honestly I’d even prioritize finding Broly and Paragus above Freeza to recover more of our fellow exiles. Freeza’s going to be around for a while, anyway.

"I fear if you indulge that power, you'll become a monster." Schala shook her head sadly, and you blinked, she was... almost certainly right. If you really did allow yourself to give in to your inner desire to make Freeza suffer for his evil, you may just end up becoming something far worse than Freeza. That uncontrollable power buried deep within you, beyond the power of even a Super Saiyan... it terrified you.

So long as you had everyone around you, you'd never fall to that corrupting power, you couldn't. You knew it.

"Alright... thanks, Schala." You had sort of needed to be reminded of how terrifying that power hidden within you might end up becoming, especially if it changed who you were as a person as it seemed to threaten to. It was an energy far more sinister in nature than the rage of a Super Saiyan, and one that you weren't sure you could control at all.

The two of you remained silent for a while as you approached the castle, Schala had given you a lot to think about, about your ambition to bring an end to Freeza's life. You had personally never met the alien behind your race's genocide, but just going from what you knew alone, you knew he couldn't be allowed to continue living. It was something of a shame that you couldn't make him suffer, but... Schala was right, indulging in such things was bad, especially for somebody like you... that power hidden within you would almost certainly explode outwards if you gave into your hatred for Freeza, and you had no idea if you'd be able to bottle it all back up.

"We're here." You called absentmindedly, distracted by your own thoughts of revenge and of Schala's warning. Oranno stopped in front of the castle gates, and the soldiers tried to shoot him with arrows to unsurprisingly no effect whatsoever. You grabbed Schala as you leapt off the top of the dinosaur's head and held a hand out to stop the guards about to rush your dinosaur with their swords, using an extraordinarily light burst of Ki to send them stumbling backwards. "Sorry about the sudden appearance, but I'm here to meet up with the rest of my friends." You informed the guards, who looked significantly less worried when they realized it was just you. Most of them seemed to recognize you, thankfully. Not that it would be especially difficult to walk past them without being hurt at all, but it would be a bother to have to deal with them if they for some reason refused to let you through. "Come on, Ayla. It's time for you to go home." You called to the pre-historic woman, who swiftly followed you.

Strolling into the throne room, you quickly found the rest of your allies standing around, waiting for you. Glenn was sparring with Crono and Sycam both at the same time, pointing out flaws in their techniques while easily dodging their attempts to pincer him by working together, and he was using a stick against their swords too. You sort of found yourself wishing that Glenn had been restored from being a Frog before the final confrontation with Lavos... if he had, you would've had a far more powerful ally on your side to assist you with... though there was no real way for either you or Glenn to have known that he would've gotten more powerful after turning back from being a frog person.

Marle was sitting on one of the thrones and gleefully watching Crono as he tried his best to overcome Glenn, Lucca was tinkering with what looked like some sort of gate key with Robo standing over her, while Mayonne and Zi simply stood in silence, not knowing what exactly to do with themselves in this situation.

This was an excellent opportunity to see just what Crono and Sycam were both capable of while working together as a duo. Both of them were swordsmen after all, so it made sense that they'd be able to synergize with each other quite well... even if Crono wouldn't be joining you in your travels off this planet, he was still one of the most powerful people you knew, so you were interested in seeing if the two of them working together could overwhelm a foe who was far superior to the two of them individually.

Instead of interrupting their battle by announcing your arrival, you simply crossed your arms and observed the two of them in their battle against Glenn, though it seemed to you as if Glenn had yet to really start taking the two of them very seriously, using his wooden sword to easily deflect their own attacks. Crono's blade glistened with a rainbow light as he swung it at Glenn, and Sycam's blade glowed with green energy as he thrust it at the knight... but even though their equipment was far, far superior to the wooden stick Glenn was wielding, he still had very little difficulty in batting away their attacks, striking out at the flats of their blades instead of contesting the cutting edge... Ki enhanced or not, you somehow doubted that either of the two incredibly powerful blades used by his opponents wouldn't simply cleave right through his stick.

"Your footwork could do with some work, Crono... and Sycam, do try not to telegraph your attacks so much." Glenn ducked under a swing from the half-Saiyan before bringing his wooden sword around in a swing of his own like a bat, crashing it into Sycam's chest and sending him flying backwards.

"Tch." Crono looked at Sycam as he went flying, before he closed his eyes, focusing deeply for a moment before he dashed forwards with incredible speed, if you hadn't been paying close attention to the fight, then you might've actually momentarily lost him as he appeared behind Glenn, who simply dropped his wooden sword and grabbed the sheathed Masamune in a smooth motion, using it to block the attempted back attack. But just as the first strike missed, Crono disappeared again, this time appearing in front of Glenn, though his second strike was a miss as Glenn ducked underneath it, and by the time he was making his third strike, Glenn had already leapt away, rendering Crono's attack useless.

"Impressive technique, Crono. Something like that... enhancing your own speed temporarily beyond its limits for the sake of a flurry of rapid attacks that your opponent cannot track... if I was less skilled, I imagine that I might've ended up being cut down. Though I'm glad you're not holding back, and-" A green slash screamed through the air and forced Glenn to quickly move his head away, though not quite fast enough, as a thin cut on his cheek formed. "I wouldn't normally praise you for attacking your adversary while he is distracted, Sycam. Though it was my fault for considering you out of this fight."

"Out of this fight...?" Sycam raced back into the fight. "Are you kidding me? I've only just gotten started! Ready, Crono?" He looked at the red haired swordsman, and received a nod in return. Clearly the two of them had some sort of plan, and you found yourself kind of excited as to just what they were up to.

"Right!" Crono began to glow with yellow magic energy, even though you couldn't sense it, you could tell from the quantity alone that there was a massive amount of energy in the attack, and for the first time in a while you found yourself surprised... Crono's capacity for magic was gigantic! How much power was he hiding?! "Luminary..."

Sycam thrust his green blade into the air as Crono continued to charge his attack, and Glenn was waiting patiently... had this been an actual battle, this attack would've required the two of them to make an opening, but it seemed as if Glenn was more than happy to allow the two of them the time they needed to set up their attack... and you watched with great interest as the massive quantity of magical light began to flow out of Crono's body in order to orbit around Sycam's aloft blade, sparks of electricity crackled off of the weapon from the sheer quantity of power contained within the energy, but more than that... it seemed almost as if the already massively potent energy was being amplified further as it gathered around the blade, before the magic suddenly seemed to be converted into Ki, and...

"...Slash!" Sycam finished the name of the attack, and your eyes widened in shock... the power of the attack... it was unreal! By combining their powers and abilities... their attack had far too much power! Your scouter beeped madly as its limit of 20,000,000 was surpassed, and you realized that this attack... it might be too much for Glenn to handle if he doesn't get serious, if he messed up defending against it... then it might end up cleaving the entire continent in two!

Also, i knew the two had some good combos together, this kind of attack could off stronger opponents. also glenn should be able to sense energy right? i don't know if we teached this skill to the whole group though? While we're waiting for Wukong, let's talk about something. Sycam's and Crono's double tech, the Luminary Slash, got me thinking. What other double techs might our team unlock in the next few months? A few ideas I've had:

You had a lot of faith in Glenn's strength, especially now that he'd shown himself capable of not only holding his own against you as a Super Saiyan, but actually defeating you, so you didn't think he'd be incapable of preventing himself from being damaged by the attack.

The next few moments took place at a speed beyond that which words could be spoken, Glenn's eyes flashed with alarm as he recognized the danger of the attack as it approached him, and he brought the full extent of his own power to bear, using the full power of the Grandreamleon in order to empower himself. His already spiky green hair seemed to flow freely with the power as he closed his eyes, cutting off the world around him completely as he quickly unsheathed the blade, facing the tremendous attack head on... he should be able to deflect it, even if the attack itself was tremendously powerful. In his current state, he had a great deal more power than either Crono or Sycam did, even with their strength combined, that was clear.

You watched, prepared at any moment to intervene if Glenn lost control of the situation, but... it seemed as if such a thing would be unneeded, Glenn slashed the Grandreamleon downwards in a strike that was almost impossible for even you to follow, and a similar wave of Ki to the one approaching was emanated from it. You could sense that his slash was at least around equal with the attack that Crono and Sycam had made... looked like Glenn was trying to dissipate the attack in the least destructive manner, matching it with an attack of equal force and having the two attacks cancel each other out rather than violently explode. It was a smart move on his part, because as it stood, if the wave did explode, everyone in the room other than you and him would be either dead or horribly injured... and that wasn't even taking into account how much damage would be done to the planet... the amounts of energy now being casually thrown about couldn't just destroy a planet, but they could destroy a planet with ease if you weren't careful.

While Glenn would be able to easily survive being hit by the attack, considering he was still technically twice as strong as it was, it would still cause a tremendous amount of destruction and potential death for your allies, so you spoke as quickly as you could as you focused as much as was possible on the attack... "Teleport."

You disappeared and reappeared in front of Glenn, infusing as much of your Ki as possible into your leg, kicking straight upwards and forming a sort of shield around your leg as you smashed the slash of Ki with as much strength as a Super Saiyan could muster... the slash was somehow able to absorb Ki, but there had to be a limit to how much power the attack could absorb, though you really didn't want to risk finding out just what that limit was. It was already half as powerful as you were, and if you were to carelessly try an energy attack with all your strength there was the chance that the attack could truly spiral completely out of control and possibly even destroy the entire planet!

Some of the energy that coated your foot was absorbed into the slash as you kicked upwards, but... fortunately, not fast enough for it to be an issue, and you successfully managed to shift the direction of the attack upwards so it would end up eventually dissipating harmlessly in space. The massive golden slash of energy sliced through the roof of the castle with ease as it rapidly traveled beyond the borders of the atmosphere before disappearing out of sight altogether.

You panted with the exertion of the incredibly rapid and intensive movement, you put literally everything you had into that kick in order to deflect the attack, not wanting to risk the possibility that your attempted deflection could end up failing because you didn't put your all into the attack like Glenn did. You dropped to a knee as you looked at the hole in the ceiling. "Damn... that was a pretty powerful attack..." You took a breath before getting up again, powering down into your base once again.

Glenn crossed his arms, sheathing his blade once again as he looked at the two sheepish swordsmen, who were both trying to appear innocent... clearly neither of them were aware of the fact that their new special technique wasn't just a simple slash of Ki, but an attack that held a truly dangerous property that could've very well spelled the end of the planet.

"We'd only had the opportunity to practice the attack a single time before, after we discovered that Sycam's sword can absorb and amplify magic during one of our own spars... so we practiced to see if we could turn it into an attack... neither of us had any idea that it had the ability to do... well, what it did."

"Yeah..." Sycam looked at his sword, the green blade shone with power even now, you knew already that the metal that was native to his planet had powerful properties, but it might be the case that its true strength lied in transforming magic energy into more basic energy, drawing out the magical potency of whatever strikes it and turning it into pure power. Of course, that conversion aspect seemed to have been translated even to the attack itself, too. You were fortunate that you had enough energy to quickly overpower the attack rather than attempting to meet it head-on to cancel it out as Glenn did, had it managed to double in strength again, then it really would have been impossible. "I didn't think that this old stuff could do anything like... well, that." Clearly even Sycam had been taken by surprise as to what his equipment was actually capable of doing... it might even end up being the case that his equipment more than allowed him to be a match for his sister's ability to transform. You briefly found yourself wondering if it would be possible for hybrid Saiyans like Sycam or Euca to transform into Super Saiyans, or if you needed to be full blooded for such a thing. They could transform into Great Apes, so... you weren't entirely sure...

Crono's magic alone was tremendously impressive too, so that may have played a part.

The more you thought about it, the more you started to come to the conclusion that Crono might just be the most magically talented person you know... at least in terms of quantity, the truth still remained that the spells he seemed to be capable of using weren't exactly what you'd call complex, not when compared to Magus, Zeal and especially Schala. Even so, you had no idea where his seemingly boundless reserve of magical power could come from, the spell he used even before he combined it in his dual attack was one of the most powerful you had ever seen... made even more impressive by the fact that Crono had barely any practice at all when it came to his own magic... was he some sort of prodigy?

"Right... I understand that... what we did was dumb, but how were we supposed to know how powerful our attack was going to be? It's not like either of us could've predicted that it was gonna be able to do what it did." Crono actually took a stand against you, and you shook your head.

"Alright, that's fair." Sycam shrugged as he put his weapons away. "I need to get onto learning how to use my own magic, if it can respond that well to my equipment." Sycam's equipment was designed to utilize Ki, or... so you thought anyway, because it looked to you like it amplified magic many times better than Ki... perhaps you ought to return to their home planet and get Schala something to help with her own issues with energy supply? While you were certain those issues would lessen with training time, as her natural reserves of energy build up through her body getting stronger, you'd be an idiot not to get equipment for everyone that could enhance their magic to be more powerful like it enhanced the Luminary Slash... it did end up converting the magic into pure energy, but you were sure that was more an effect of the attack than anything else.

"Right, now that that's out of the way..." The interior of the castle... wasn't looking great thanks to that last attack... but you could have it fixed later on, who was going to complain about it anyway? It would take like, a few hours for you to repair at most.

It did have an effectively unlimited amount of fuel for jumps through time... but that was because it actively used the planet's own temporal disruption energy as its source, effectively drawing power from the instabilities created through the existence of the time gates... yet without those... it's way harder to travel." Your memory flashed back to the time machine that Lucca was so happy to look down upon back when you met Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time, but you refrained from bringing it up. "So synthesizing an alternative to fuel it... might end up taking even me a while... course, it will probably work fine if temporal disruptions are occurring elsewhere, so..." She shrugged... you wondered if she might've felt bad about mocking whoever made that other time machine now that the reality of the difficulties that she faced were presented to her. Now that there wasn't something for the Epoch to siphon power from in order to function, she might even end up needing to refit the Epoch into something similar to that other Time Machine!

"Doesn't that mean that this will be the last time we end up seeing Ayla and Glenn?" Marle frowned, but Lucca shook her head.

Glenn nodded sagely as he looked at the device in Lucca's hand. You knew he was telling the truth as well, he had already grown so much more powerful than before, and his power... it was likely that his power had only just begun to flourish now that he had unlocked the true power of the legendary blade he wielded. With that sword in hand, you knew that the planet's past would be well protected from whoever tried to attack it.

"Ayla go back... Ayla see friends again?" Ayla looked curiously around her, before she shook her head. "No! Ayla know she see friends again! Come see Ayla!" She confidently and happily declared before anybody could clarify the situation to her, and... she probably wasn't wrong, really. You'd almost certainly end up returning to the past of the planet at some point, even if the Epoch after a closer examination wouldn't be able to operate normally without the time rifts... you did find it slightly odd that despite theoretically being able to travel anywhere in time at all, the Epoch had been set to only travel to the points in time with active time gates. It seemed like time wasn't as easy to manipulate as Lucca had originally believed it to be, though you had no doubt she'd be able to manage upgrading the Epoch to be able to travel back and forth in time once more.

You looked at both Glenn and Ayla, before sighing. It's a pity that such strong people belonged in the past, but... that was where they rightfully belonged... and there was no telling what might end up happening if the time gates closed before they returned to their own times... right? Or... maybe you could take the two of them on one last adventure and then have Lucca create a way back to their own times? That wouldn't cause any problems, right?

No, as much as you would like to be able to keep Ayla and Glenn around, it would be foolish to do such a thing. It might've been a different case if you had a currently functioning time machine, or at least some sort of guarantee that you could send them back to their rightful place in time, but... as it currently stood, you didn't exactly want to mess with time unless you absolutely had to, especially as you and your allies were effectively the only people who ought to be protecting it. While it still felt like a shame to let Ayla and Glenn go back to their own times, you understood the necessity of it, up until now you'd managed to basically get away without any major consequences from altering the past thanks to the existence of the time gates linking the multiple eras, but when those gates close up, what happens then? Could an action taken in the past radically alter the future now that time was going to be free to flow as it usually would...? You had no idea of the specifics of time itself other than the somewhat limited understanding you had managed to figure out from the control of your own magic... for somebody who was supposed to be defending time, you didn't know nearly as much about it as you should.

So, knowing that the two powerful allies had to return to their own times, you decided against saying anything that could convince them to stay for just a little while longer, it was clear that they'd already been pushing it with how long they were staying in the future after the crisis that threatened the planet had been resolved... Schala and the rest of her family were something of a special case considering that they... weren't exactly supposed to continue existing past the fall of Zeal, at least as far as you could tell. The same applied to Mayonne as well, you imagined. You didn't imagine that he would've ended up surviving whatever happened in the past before you ended up getting involved... whatever that ended up being. It's hard to tell considering all the time traveling that ended up occurring. Perhaps Glenn in the form of Frog would have ended up storming Magus' castle and defeating him regardless of what sword he was using? While his true strength was only able to shine with the power of that sword on his side, you didn't doubt that he would've been able to grow strong enough to have defeated the Magus of that time if he trained enough.

"I too have no doubt that we'll meet with each other again, be it in this life or the next... but... something tells me that we'll be seeing each other sooner than that, after all, that other world we visited... that group of people seemed to exist for the sake of ensuring the proper flow and stability of time, which means it's only a matter of how long we have until time comes under threat once more." Glenn's assessment of the situation was pretty much spot on... honestly, if you did end up establishing something like an agency to protect time, you'd almost certainly end up recruiting Glenn into it. His strength was too great to ignore, and it was really only going to keep growing now, the same with Ayla. "Now, I'll look forward to the day where we can meet again... the day where we can all meet again... but until that day, I'll keep training. The next time we all meet, I'll be sure to assess the progress of my two students..." He looked over to Crono and Sycam, before turning back to you. Then again, it's pretty likely that she's not angry that you defeated her, but that she needed to be defeated in the first place... doesn't really make all that much of a difference though.

With the departure of the two people who needed to return to their home eras, time would finally be able to return to normal, time was no longer in any sort of danger, and the disastrous future of the planet had been averted too. It was a complete victory, but... now it was time for you to start planning, training was currently rendered impossible thanks to the deal you made with Kachi-Kachi, but just because you couldn't raise your raw power didn't mean all training was hopeless.

Learning Magic from the best Time mage we know and expanding reserves because magic is OP. Transformations also OP, so as much time on them as well. Utility techniques because I'm hoping we can develop a way to silently cast spells, even if it's more expensive. Our fight with Glenn revealed this is a pretty big weakness.

All of the above, they all have different availabilities I'm certain, and each of them have unique insights into magic given their different affinities and specialties. I want to be as versed in this shit as possible.

Passive use of it increases total mp available, so pairs well with the above choices. Keeping a level head even with the anger that SS incurs might make initial magic training more difficult, but hey, it'll pay off being able to focus on being calm better!
