>tapdanceOATH is GREATLY WEAKENED
>Sing a song about how the foolish noble had his love stolen by the handsome elf prince(QM: this effort expends all the power of your accumulated Song so far)
>Propose to the Contessa in marriage. Smirk at Hieronymous Erde while doing so.By some strange power of Song, your feet feel compelled to dance. As you cavort around the astonished and enraptured Contessa, Le Maitre du Grand Plaisir calls for music, and when it commences from the Court a strange chant escapes your lips:
Thou hast not loved, as passion makes me,
Gay as The Elf beneath the Betrayer's Tree;
Thou canst not fight, with crooked sword -
Upon hammered love, and brawling word.
Your favour sought for dragon clothes -
The scent of flowers, no maiden nose.
By ripening summer the eyes can see
If thou canst love, I'll marry thee.
You can see both the Contessa (
>>5271197 ) and the Belsire or Beldame's eyelashes fluttering as they breathlessly follow the measure of your graceful pirouettes and courtly dancing steps, eagerly following and yearning for every sweeping glimpse of the rippling sheen of your exotic robes. You think they are both completely enthralled.
The gathered audience of Highborn onlookers is similarly captivated - though only after they have sycophantically observed the approval from the Contessa and Belsire/Beldame. You hear them applaud and heap acclaim upon your performance:
-It is... a marvel! I too must find an Elf! They are such beautiful, noble creatures!
-I think it is a gavotte... or perhaps a rigaudon. We must commission a new study of it, a new Orchesographie, to record La Danse du Farfadet for posterity!
Even Hieronymous Erde appears somewhat relieved. He immediately announces:
-It is as I always said! Elves exist, and they are wondrous creatures! This was a conjecture I have long held, which has been borne out by all subsequent events... Please, O Beauteous Contessa - remember that it is I, and solely I - Hieronymous Erde, who commissioned La Danse du Farfadet! Me? Me! Me!
However, not all amongst the audience are entirely enchanted...
