>>5319258>how boutta compramisethe thugs, beaten and bloodied are stripped of their gear. but not their dignity. (still have clothes)
they are tied together to one of those strangely well anchored tables. they curse and spit at you, especially the paladin who is absolutely frothing at the mouth in anger. claiming he will have all you you arrested and in chains before the week is out.
the dwarves, finding the kegs are about 60% empty after this second round of celebration, begin to prepare for the next phase.
they equip what armor they could, such as the thugs thigh plates, just about the right size for a dwarven bicep. but their halburks of cloth are near useless to you all. their helms are too small, their boots are too narrow, and their dainty lil mittens are more appropriately sized for malnourished dwarven children. and so their metal is tossed into a heap
and as that pile of gleaming scrap grows, candlelight reflected off a hundred glittering rings from the ringmail, something in the minds of the onlooking dwarves quiets them and all nearby begin to contemplate.
"bay Grroh-gens beard... das ah-loota steel."
"aye" - "an is in capable 'ands yeah?"
"an we ahr by tah elven woods. elven trees eans elven sap. elven sap eans elven fuel..."
"butah, no forrge 'ear...yet"
with the mills defenders put out of comission, and the mill owner decapitated, all that remains is the humble secratary.
the loot from the owners office is taken,
>1000 gold peicesa hefty hefty sum of money.
you learned from the ledger that this land is technicaly a boarder zone. not affiliated with the nearby kingdom of men, nor the much closer by kingdom of elves. but a little plot of tax free mud deemed too much a risk for most businessmen. and indeed, it was too much a risk for ol whats his name.
this place could verry well become yours, if you so choose.
it certainly is no mountain home. but it does have its benefits.
your kin are established here already, the traders know to make this part of their route, lumber IS good business. plus a base of operation does any drawn out campaign good..
but burning it to the ground would be quite a potent act. a motivator for your people, a message of warning to this cruel world, and an oath to your gods to reclaim your homeland for you forsake all else.
either way the men are eager to reclaim their fate, electing you to the leader of whatever this movement turns into.
>selling that paladins gear will be profitable, but may cause issues with the nearby human kingdom.>what shall ye do with the prisoners?>what shall you do with the mill?>and most importantly, what shall you do with all that dough!
