>Speak to them about their Legion’s Tactics, maybe he will show pride there>Talos reflects upon what the word "Father" , how the relationship of his Astartes paralells to that of C4R and the Emperor>Considers ways to use said pride to also influence them towards true beliefElaboration:
#1 In many ways, our Astartes reflect many virtues of the Cult even better than our Lucian born. They have superb emotional control, allowing for logical thinking, even without the need for emotional vaults. They are cold, tactical, perhaps even calculating, with a devotion to duty, like unto the machine. That is virtuous and pious in the digital eyes of the Machine God. We can be proud of them for this
#2 But yet all of that is without faith. It is written: "Though I speak with the tongues of binaric and code, but have not faith, I am become as loop recording, or a blaring klaxon. And though I have the gift of prediction, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all strength, so that I could remove mountains, and have not faith, I am nothing." They represent many of the ideals of a good techpriest, but lack the key element of faith
#3 Faith cannot be bought or forced, it must be earned. Just as to be "Father" cannot be forced, lest it be an empty word. It must be earned.
#4 The Emperor is our Creator, and we are his Genespawn, and we honor him as such as our astartes honor us. But C4R is our father, as he took care to devote to our desires, our aspirations, our person, and so we love him as father
#5 If we wish for our sons to love us as Father, and truly mean the word, we must understand what they are proud of, what their dreams and aspirations are, and support them. Not just as Primarch. Not just as Commander or Leader. But truly as Father. Just as the Emperor could to us, if he so wished, yet has not. These men were born with fathers who raised them once, for us to be a Father to them we must be as the same
#6 If we can reach them, we can also have a better chance to convince them to believe and have true faith. If we know what it is they are proud of, we can train our Acillians in their ways and methods, but also display to them how with faith even our Acillians can succeed and even surpass them through the blessings of our God and Machine Spirits
They are proud of their ability to fight? Perhaps our Acillians can, either in duels or perhaps in the upcoming war, through the blessings of Machine Spirits surpass them (their armor moves swifter and hits harder, their battle cogitators think faster, their shields last longer and their power swords strike harder)
As UZ1 once showed our son ED1SON through the use of true belief and ritual when they made the prosthetics, how the machine spirit responded to her and made her succeed. He was able to be bested by a mortal of all things, and UZ1 taught him the importance of ritual and faith. If we wish to truly convert our sons, they should learn the same
