(Note: These events will be taking place on the same day, so you will not lose more “turns” of food use.)
Nobody moves. The entire glen is still and silent as the two sides quietly face one another. Even the birds have stopped chirping, anticipating a slaughter. One minute, two minutes, and the tension becomes palpable to the point of breaking. Just when it doesn’t seem as through the insects can bear it any longer, one of the lizardfolk steps forward from the other seven. He is not marked in any sort of warpaint, and his armor is fringed with small decorative shells. He opens his mouth and begins to speak in a gravelly, halting tongue, with sibilant S’s:
<span class="mu-i">Hearken now to Gazuras, mouthpiece of Dro’akhar the Mighty, he of Long Tooth, Bright Scale and Sharp Talon, Lord and Protector of Lagoon-Below-The-Scarp; hearken and be glad, abominations, for he has spared you, for you have passed the Three Trials. You have shown patience, by not mindlessly attacking the Plague-Bringers and spreading sickness to our lands. You have manifested courage, by approaching food when you are desperate and in need. And most importantly, you have shown wisdom, of knowing restraint when resistance would bring folly. You have been inventoried, and gladdened the stout heart of Dro’akhar by being found… worthy.
Gazuras has been asked to convey his glorious message to the pestilence you are, and Gazuras shall be of leal service to his master. He has proclaimed you are to be of service to us, and us to your unholy forms. He recognizes the Plague-Bringers must be destroyed, and Tualani saved. These ones, he gestures to the assembled warriors behind him, are marked for death, for those who touch the Plague Bringers must be destroyed themselves or their filth lives on. You must also sacrifice your disgusting forms, those who will help destroy these scum.
Gazuras rolls a hollowed gourd to the Bullet Ant Soldiers, with the same red dye coating the top that mark the warband. “You shall meet Gazuras tonight with these ones. Bring only those you wish to sacrifice. If you fail in battle, we shall all be slain. If you choose to disregard the holy will of Dro’akhar Firebringer, Gazuras will take great pleasure in removing your disgusting taint from our border.” He coolly steps back, and the lizards vanish into the mire.
The fish are yours, at least, and you won’t starve tomorrow, but it seems one way or another, a terrible fight will soon be upon you. What will you do?
OPTIONS:
>Join Gazuras tonight to fight the Skaven (with what troops?)
>Ambush Gazuras and his forces when they arrive tonight (with what troops?)
>Fortify your encampment (how?)
