[240 / 10 / 32]
There is fire in your lungs.
Your sight was robbed from you as soon as you stepped into the street, a deluge of smoke assaulting you from all sides. The instinct to get close to the ground was what kept you in the game – a shot whizzed over your head as soon as you hit the dirt, and even though the knock to your skull and the smoke in your body hurts, you are alive.
Your name is Wolfgang O’Neal, otherwise known as n0v4_c43s4r, and you are in a hell of a fucking pickle.
Just a little while ago, you were simply an arcade owner helping kids have fun while licking your wounds over events that had long since transpired. After a woman by the name of 0phelia upturned your entire life, you were thrust back into the world of Warscape, one of the world’s biggest games – and in the year of 2030, games are the most popular form of entertainment and spectator sport. Through trial and toil, you managed to bob and weave through several obstacles thrown at you, culminating in teaming up with your old friend and squad mate named Orion “Orange” Jasper.
He is nowhere to be found as you fight for air and your vision.
You don’t dare speak as you shove your sleeve into your mouth, moving up to your knees and readying yourself to duck as soon as you even hear the crack of a gun. Moments later, your prediction comes true, although the bullet doesn’t come to you – it’s somewhere off to your left, and it takes out a pane of glass from the gas station behind you. Afterwards, you hear the sound of a burst fire pistol – okay, so Orange didn’t die in the sudden onslaught.
Your head whips around as you try to survey your options while under threat of asphyxiation and bullets – you could try to scramble your way back into the cover of the building and try to find Orange, allowing some semblance of communication to be established. Another avenue is bolting towards the tree line that you know lies beyond the smoke, potentially getting the upper hand at the risk of being shot. The road less traveled would be trying to circumvent them, using the cover of smoke to escape to a different location entirely.
You knew as soon as you entered this tournament that things wouldn’t be easy, and it’s certainly not disappointing you. What do you do, Wolfgang O’Neal?
>Move back into the building, focusing on locating Orange.
>Run towards the tree line with your gun ready, focusing on assault.
>Disappear down the road, focusing on trying to find an opening.
>Write-in.
