“You stay here and do your thing. I’ll be taking the shield.” you declared, moving to grab it. Pandora yanked it away from you with a frown. “I’m not stealing it. I wouldn’t even have anywhere to go if I did!” you said, gesturing at the open ocean. Pandora considered this for a moment, before allowing you to take it. The shield seemed to make the same humming sound that the Red Guardian’s shield made, but it was of a noticeably higher pitch. “Be sure that the others don’t find out what it does.” she demanded. You nodded and ran over to the boy in the pig costume. He glanced up at you, but his gaze quickly fell upon the sizable golden disk in your hand. In fact, everyone was staring at it with looks of puzzlement and curiosity. Black Cat had a particularly unsettling glint in her eye. “Gordy, I’m gonna need you to launch me over to those ships.” you requested. He began shaking his head almost immediately. “B-but you could get seriously hurt!” he argued. You raised the shield and tapped its center. “Just aim for this. I’ll be alright.” you promised. Without giving him an opportunity to offer a counter-argument, you slipped the shield onto your back, and set up a large web-sling, connecting each point at the helm’s railings, from one side of the ship to the other. Everyone backed away instinctively, not wanting to be whipped in the face when you released your grip. You wound yourself back, stretching the webline until it became taut. Then, you relaxed your body, and let the webline whip you forward! You flew through the air at dizzying speeds, the wind filling your ears as it whipped away at the torn fabric of your suit. Despite warning yourself not to, you risked a glance down at the water. Your reflection was a dull blur at the speeds that you were moving at, and you didn’t even want to think about what might be lurking just below. Just then, your spider sense flared up, and you became increasingly aware of the sound of something ripping through the air behind you. Almost in instinct, you tore the shield from your back and flipped around to block the incoming wind blast. The impact nearly tore the disk from your hands! Hell, it damn well near took your whole arm off! By some miracle, you managed to maintain your grip. Unfortunately though, you were left helpless as you spun uncontrollably! Your sense of time became skewed, and your surroundings were slowly beginning to blend together. By the time that you finally slowed down, you were alarmed to find that you were nearing the water’s surface! You brought your arm down, using the golden disk to skip across the water’s surface like a flat stone, granting you a momentary, if diminishing, boost in altitude each and every time. (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YmIMHbCB Sun 17 Jul 2022 15:30:51 No. 5342497 Report Using your superhuman agility and reflexes, you struggled to flip yourself upright, leaving the shield stuck to your feet. The “skipping” motion started to look a lot more like boogie-boarding at this point, but it allowed you a moment of respite to regain your bearings.
You were surprised to see just how much distance you’d covered with that little trick! You were already more than halfway there, but it wasn’t enough. You needed another boost.
Crouching down low, you lowered your arms and released a plume of explosive barbs. And with a tiny little spark, you detonated the cloud of overactive accelerant, creating a massive eruption that launched you and the shield high into the air!
You flew towards the nearest ship in the blockade, your suit in tatters and your body slightly smoking from the explosion. Being made of a thinner material, this costume wasn’t nearly as durable or resistant as your usual one.
But that was the least of your concerns right now. You had to get this just right…
THERE!
You brought your arm up and fired, bridging the gap between you and salvation with a thin, silver thread. You tugged on the line, bringing your legs down to scrape against the ocean’s surface, before kicking up with your lower body to reach the crescendo of your webline’s arc.
Feeling satisfied with your performance, you let go of the webline and allowed yourself to fall, your body flipping end over end until you landed in a roll, dispersing the brunt of the impact with the golden disk.
You now stood within a small crater of splintered wood, surrounded by immortal pirates that may or may not be real, on a ship that may or may not be real.
“Alright. Who’s first?” you asked, slightly out of breath.
What will you do?

As predicted, the pirates drew their swords and ran towards you, screaming and shouting insults all the while. You rose to your full height, then, tossing your shield into the air and webbing its rounded edge. You gave it a trial swing, testing its weight and getting a feel for the weapon. Apparently, the pirates didn’t think this strange, because it didn’t seem like they were willing to put any actual effort into switching up their strategy or approaching you from a different angle. Either these clones of Bonne weren’t that smart, or they were typically this dumb in any context. Either way, they wouldn’t get any mercy from you. Before any of their swords could make contact, you raised your arms over your head and began swinging the shield around like a madman! It just smacked into them and pushed them back a few steps on the first few passes. But as it gained momentum, they slowly began to realize what you were planning on doing. The golden disk was now spinning so fast that it was whistling and humming loudly in your ears. It sort of reminded you of the sound that people made when they traced a finger along the rim of a moist glass. You brought your arms down, widening the arc momentarily and allowing the golden disk to cleave through the pirates. And this wasn’t a figure of speech, either. This thing, literally sliced right through them! It honestly would’ve been a lot gorrier, but the mutilated pirates just disappeared in a puff of smoke. As you thought, they were all clones. And that meant that you didn’t have to hold back at all. You continued to carve through them with your new weapon, easily avoiding their clumsy swings and the occasional shot from a firearm that went out of fashion centuries ago. Once again, this Captain Hook wasn’t feeling particularly chatty. —---- When you were confident that you’d cleared out the ship reasonably well enough, you ran straight to the helm and grabbed the wheel. “Which side is ‘Port’ again?” you silently asked yourself. Then, with a shrug, you spun the wheel towards the left and webbed it in place. “Ah, fuck it.” Feeling the Jolly Roger turn sharply, you immediately ran to board the neighboring ship that your current one was about to ram into. You easily cleared the jump, breaking into a roll as you hit the deck and bringing your shield up into a devastating uppercut. The first clone pirate went down, and you groaned upon seeing the pile of dust at your feet. Great. Another fake. You moved to black an incoming sword strike, pushing your attacker back and crouching low to sweep his legs out from under him. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted a small silhouette soaring through the sky. That could only be one person. Or in this case, two people. (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YmIMHbCB Sun 17 Jul 2022 23:44:55 No. 5343094 Report The figure swooped down low to brush past the bottom of the ship. Suddenly, the vessel began to shrink, with the ship’s crew remaining the same size, forcing them to squeeze together in order to avoid falling off. Within a few seconds, you heard a loud splash, which must’ve meant that the boat became too small for any of them to individually stand on.
A little while later, a pair of cloned ships were taken down by Gordy and Tossa’s return fire. The kids were painfully accurate with their abilities for being as young as they were.
This went on for what felt like an hour as you fought your way through countless pirate clones, took control of their ship, and rammed it into the next one, only to repeat the process again.
And as you began to wonder what Pandora was doing this entire time, you noticed a ship shining brighter than the others. It was as if a ray of light had chosen to illuminate a single vessel out of several dozen. And that’s when you realized that it had to be Pandora’s doing! This must be the signal for her divination spell!
Feeling reinvigorated by this revelation, you rushed forward, plowing through your opposition and leaping from ship to ship. By the time you’d finally reached the real Jolly Roger, they were ready for you.
Each and every pirate held a cloned firearm, raising it to riddle you with bullets. You easily leapt over them and avoided most of the pellets, while blocking the rest with your shield.
“Blast!” Captain Hook cursed. “Quit prancin’ around like a ballerina and fight like a man!” he growled, waving his sword at you.
What will you do?
>Repeat the same strategy from earlier. >Signal Tossa and Gordy to fire on this ship. Your spider sense should help you to avoid any fatal damage. >Single out Captain Hook and shove him off the ship. Pandora can handle the rest with her magic. >”You don’t know how good it is to hear your voice, man. Your clones just don’t do you justice! I’d hit them with a copyright strike if I were you. It really ruins your image.” >”I’m gonna make this real simple. If I hit you with this shield, you won’t be coming back at midnight. >109! >M-M-M-M-MAXIMUM SPIDER! “Guywho’sabouttogethitwithashieldsayswhat?” “...What?” Hook said with a raised eyebrow. That was the last thing he said before your shield came flying out to crack against his nose. He went down like a sack of potatoes, and his men seemed visibly shaken by his swift defeat. But even more than that, they seemed to gape at the sight of the shield returning to your hand after you threw it! And they weren’t the only ones. You stared at the thing with a mix of pleasure, shock and confusion. Was that really all there was to it? That didn’t seem too hard. Suddenly, your spider sense went off, and you quickly raised the shield to block a shot. Then, without thinking, you lobbed the golden disk at the offender with pinpoint precision. It bounced off the side of his face, ricocheted into another pirate beside him, and started a chain reaction of metal crashing into flesh. They went down one by one, and no matter where they ran, the shield seemed to follow them, hunting the unlucky pirates down after bouncing off of several inanimate objects. It was quite amusing to watch, really. Like playing an intense game of air hockey. You went on to repeat this process over and over, your surprise and self-satisfaction increasing with each and every successful bounce. When the shield returned to your hand one final time, you paused to admire your handiwork. Each and every pirate was either unconscious or too injured to get back up. You nodded approvingly, rubbing the shield’s surface gently. “I have got to get myself one of these…” you remarked, wishing that someone–ANYONE other than yourself was here to see that. You idly wondered what that display of skill would have earned you if Anastasia saw it personally. “No one’s gonna believe me…” you said with a long, suffering sigh. Classic Huntsman. Doing cool shit when no one’s around to see or appreciate it. A war cry broke you out of your funk, and you turned to see a teenage boy running at you with a knife. Casually, you threw your hand out, allowing the boy to smack right into your shield, whipping his head back and causing him to crash to the ground in a heap. You stood over him to check on the boy, just in case you’d accidentally hit him too hard. But sure enough, he was still breathing, and only slightly bleeding from a cut on his bottom lip. You dragged him over to the mast, webbed him to the flagpole, and then proceeded to web the others to the ground, before taking control of the ship. As you turned the wheel and sailed the Jolly Roger towards your fellows, various thoughts ran through your mind. You were this close to killing Hook back there. Several things stopped you from going through with it. (Cont.)

First, killing him might encourage some other Neverland pirate to come back for revenge. This might not be the whole crew, and you’d rather not inspire a new nemesis right now. Second, killing a Neverland resident would be a massive development in the history of this island. It would give some cause to celebrate. While others might just try to reignite old disputes, beginning another cycle of violence in hopes that the rules of the island changed somehow. And third, you had a feeling that Peter and the villainous Captain needed each other somehow. They were two eternal beings, locked in a never-ending struggle. You had trouble wrapping your head around it before, but it made sense now. Pan and Hook were doing a dance. Holding a play. Reading through the same script, over and over, doomed to repeat it with the same outcome. This was no longer about good vs evil. It was a losing battle against boredom itself. Usually, you wouldn’t give a shit about either one of them being bored, but you found the whole situation to be quite pitiable. Not that you would tell either of them this. As far as anyone knew, you were unable to kill the dastardly pirate, and the shield was just a way for you to have fun while battling him. —------- Soon after Bonne’s capture and defeat, the other ships faded into nothing, hopefully defeating any other illusions that he might have created. You transferred the boy onto the Gambler’s Guess, returned the shield to Pandora, and gave her a nod. She seemed genuinely surprised when you told her that Hook was still alive, but she said nothing to express it. And while the others were curious about the shield that you’d wielded, you were able to deflect their curiosity by explaining that Pandora used her magic to create it for you. Lucky for both of you, though, Cat and Prowler were too busy inspecting their treasure haul to scrutinize you for any meaningful amount of time. The Lost Boys were singing your praises once more, and even the brooding Croaker and Grover seemed to perk up at this. You retold the story of your epic battle, describing in great detail how you learned the shield bounce trick on the fly. Since some of these kids had never heard of Captain America before, it sounded even more impressive to the unprepared mind of an impressionable child. Conversations were quickly cut short by a beeping alarm coming from Pandora’s wristwatch. Everyone turned to look at her as she casually dismissed the alarm with the press of a button. “Midnight.” she announced, tightening her grip on the wheel and maintaining her course. Everyone went deathly still, and you were certain that if a pin dropped, you would all be able to hear it. (Cont.)

After a few minutes, you began to wonder whether it would be appropriate for you to relax, only for a familiar ticking sound grew closer and closer. You muttered a curse under your breath and braced yourself for another hard fought battle. Water began to slosh and splash violently as something massive rose up out of the ocean’s depths. You prepared for the worst…but by some miracle, nothing happened! You all exchanged confused glances, hearing the ticking sound steadily growing quieter and quieter. It sounded like it was moving away. When it was far enough away, you and the others risked a glance behind the ship. A large shadow was moving intently towards the Jolly Roger, and you had to laugh. You guessed that some rivalries never truly died out. —--------- A little while later, Tiger Lily was reunited with her people. They’d been waiting for her on the shore, welcoming you all warmly and celebrating your success. You stayed for another hour or two, giving the kids all the time they needed for closure as they said their heartfelt goodbyes. Tears ran down their faces as they realized that they’d probably never see these people again. The mutant kids would be headed to Xavier’s, and the other kids would probably go into foster care for a time. You’d have to figure that out later. Surprisingly, Pan didn’t fight you on that last one. Maybe he knew that he couldn’t give them what they needed. Either that, or he’d been planning on whisking away more kids when you weren’t looking. If the time came, then you’d settle up in the future. Hopefully, with a magical shield at your side. —----- Eventually, you all waved your goodbyes and set sail, you took a moment to reflect on everything that had led to this moment. You honestly didn’t expect this mission to drag on for as long as it did. All you could hope for now was that these kids didn’t grow up to be murderers, despots or maniacal villains. As you thought about this, you nearly missed the glowing lantern that had been racing to catch up with your ship. As it flew past your face, you caught the briefest glimpse of a tiny woman with insect-like wings. You had no way of knowing, but you had a feeling that she was looking at you as well. The pixie flew up beside Peter Pan, and he smiled warmly at her when he noticed her presence. “Tink! Where’ve you been? You missed all the excitement!” he said. You couldn’t make heads or tails of it. “Alright, they’re not that old. The Lost Boys seem to like them well enough.” Peter Pan said. You had no idea whether you would ever see this place again, but you think you’d like to come back someday. When there wasn’t some pressing issue to deal with.
Sometime after Tinkerbell’s hissy fit, she finally saw fit to imbue the Gambler’s Guess with her magic. The entire ship seemed to glow golden with an aura identical to her own, making even the floorboards shine with a radiance that you’d never seen before. That seemed to impress everyone more than the entire ship lifting into the air and flying above the clouds!
The kids were oohing and awing over the spectacle, and most of the adults were doing the same. Even Pandora had a rare smile on her face as she continued to operate the wheel. Prowler, on the other hand, was once again slung over the railing, retching violently as Black Cat rubbed his back sympathetically.

>>5343833 Benny's certainly gonna have some catching up to do with some of his contacts
>>5343865 Correction. Benny is a Mutate, not a Mutant. There's a very small difference, in that Benny doesn't have an active X-Gene. Whether he had a dormant one before the accident is unknown, but it will likely never be known, because Mutates are genetically altered in such a way that their X-Gene is either overwritten, or remains dormant for as long as their alternate mutation remains active. But give how Charles Xavier once invited him to join the X-Men, their previously lax rules might've allowed for more than a few non-mutants to join their ranks. It really depends on how the writers are feeling, or whether the character has history with the team.
It's a subtle distinction that the average everyday citizen wouldn't give a shit about, but it is strange how the X-Men live in a completely different world than literally any other hero. In Hickman's Avengers, Sunspot and Cannonball commented on the fact that they'd become beloved heroes as soon as they joined the Avengers, and how the favoritism they were now being shown didn't make any sense. I don't think Wolverine is shown nearly half the hate as everyone else, despite him being a literal murderer that might possibly turn on his friends at the drop of a hat if someone uses trigger scent or mind control.
X books make more sense when you imagine them as their own self contained thing.

“I think I’m a bit tired of high stakes jobs. We should do something a little more simple next time.” you suggested. “Like a heist or a bank job. Something local.”
Felicia’s expression grew thoughtful for a moment, before a small grin spread across her features.
“Well…I was planning a big job for us to take on later, but there might be something else to keep us occupied.” she said.
“What’d you have in mind?” you asked.
“White Rabbit’s been recruiting. She wants to pull a heist, but she’s not getting any takers.” Cat explained.
Prowler actually lifted his head up to look her square in the face. “Nope. I’m not pulling a job with that lunatic.” Prowler argued. “She’s gonna get us caught.”
“She’s not crazy, Pow Pow. She’s just…eccentric.” Felicia said delicately. “Dodson has particular tastes, and she just needs a crew that can keep up with her…peculiarities.”
You’ve honestly never seen Cat dance around an issue so much.

She’s a rich miss who got bored with her stale, safe life of luxury, and decided that she’d try her hand at being a super-criminal.” Felicia began. “She became obsessed with ‘Alice in Wonderland’ as a little girl, and she styles most of her crimes and equipment with that theme in mind. I once saw her march a bunny mech into Times Square.” “Was it at least cute?” you said. Felicia flashed you with an easygoing grin. “It was more deadly than cute, I’d say. It had rockets and gatling guns. “So, what? She just steals stuff as a hobby?” Prowler asked. Cat just shrugged. “What can I say? The girl likes to live on the wild side.” “I’m guessing she’s been arrested before?” Felicia nodded. “They always let her out after she gets arrested, though. Either the cops think she’s harmless, or she’s got some friends in high places.” “Not a bad asset to have.” you pondered aloud. “Can she fight?” Prowler inquired. Cat bobbed her head from side to side, giving herself time to chew on it a bit before answering. “She’s decent in a scrap. But that’s mostly because of the gadgets she carries.” she said. “Rocket boots, a razor sharp tophat, and a tricked out umbrella. More than anything, though…she’s fun to be around.” Felicia sounded mildly amused by the whole thing. It almost sounded like she got a kick out of watching the woman fumble her way through New York’s criminal underbelly. “Before we get into that, I want to know more about this ‘big job’ that you’ve been teasing.” you demanded. Prowler seemed to nod at that, but you could barely tell with his head slung over the railing. Felicia sighed and crossed her arms beneath her ample bosom. “I guess there’s no use in playing coy, now that we’re headed back.” she admitted. “It’s nothing fancy. I was planning on signing us up for prisoner transport duty in Florida.” You exchanged a glance with Prowler. “And why would we want to do that? What do we get out of it?” Prowler asked. “Hopefully, a prisoner.” Cat answered, a sly grin spreading across her features. “You want us to bust a prisoner out of jail? Who are they?” you said. “They call her Madame Medusa. She’s a Meta that can manipulate her hair as if it were a living thing.” she explained. “And she’s powerful?” Felicia nodded. “She can lift several tons with her hair alone, and I’ve read reports of her using it as armor.” she said. “And not only that, but I hear that she pretty much runs the prison that they’re transferring her from. She’s got the guards dancing in the palm of her hand, and the warden can’t stop drooling over her.” (Cont.)

“Where are they transferring her to?”

Once I’ve got all the pieces together, you boys can decide whether we move forward with it, or not.” Felicia offered. —----- You spent the rest of the trip going over the necessary steps to break Medusa out, and how you would all make your clean getaway. All in all, busting her out wouldn’t be terribly difficult, but getting away and crafting a new identity for her might prove troublesome. Either way, this was all purely theoretical at the moment. You weren’t sure if you were willing to let a stranger into your circle of trust just yet. You were so engrossed in your conversation, that you barely noticed the transition between Neverland, and your world. It was seamless. No magic portals, no shifting skyline. Just a quick trip below the clouds, and you could already see what looked like a Mini-Helicarrier down below waiting for you to land. Pandora set the Guess down gently on the landing strip, and little by the little, the vessel lost some of its blinding radiance. Pandora let out a shuddering breath, and it just now occurred to you that she might have been struggling to maintain the spell that Tinkerbell cast on the ship. With the anti-magic shield so close, it was probably incredibly dangerous for you to fly around like you did. The Director of W.A.N.D. was the first to climb down. It was then that you noticed the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. walking up to meet her halfway. The two exchanged some words, and they both glanced in your direction more than a few times as they spoke. Finally, Pandora placed the bag in Hill’s hands and stepped past her. A waiting S.H.I.E.L.D. agent escorted Pandora further into the Mini-Helicarrier, and another took the bag from Hill and went into a separate door. By the time that the rest of you made it down, Maria Hill was standing alone, facing your group with an expression that bordered on imperious. Her gaze shifted to the children for a minute, and then to Peter Pan. He didn’t look particularly happy, but he didn’t move to stop them either. (Cont.)

Glass stepped forward this time. “No one’s forcing you to do anything, but the world isn’t a very forgiving place when it comes to mutants. If you go out there on your own, then you won’t have anyone to protect you when things go south. You aren’t like everyone else, and once people find that out, they’ll never let you forget it.” he said, clearly speaking from experience. “Being different isn’t a bad thing, but not everyone knows that. You can’t afford to have a meltdown or throw a hissy fit. The safety of others is always more important than your feelings or your ego.” she continued. No one had anything to say to that. Very few of them were able to meet her gaze at that moment. The words weren’t kind or encouraging, but it was what they needed to hear. And it was best that it came from a Morlock like Callisto. “What are you going to do with the non-mutants?” you asked, turning to face Hill. “Some of them have probably got families to go back to.” Hill straightened at that, and she tried to hide the sliver of sympathy that had slipped into her expression. The kids’ mouths gaped, and they were murmuring amongst one another as their collective disbelief had reached record levels. His jaw set, and he took a deep breath before speaking. “You have to go with them, lads.” he demanded. “With everything that’s happening, I won’t be able to spend as much time on the other side. But if you’re here, then I’ll be able to protect you.” “How?” Gordy shot back. “This place is way bigger than the island!” Pan just shook his head. Without a word, he slowly rose into the air, and turned his body so that his back was facing you. In an instant, his figure blurred, and the air exploded! One moment he was there, and the next, he was speeding down the horizon as a mere speck, faster than any missile that you’ve ever seen. The kids’ mouths gaped, and they were murmuring amongst one another as their collective disbelief had reached record levels. After a few more seconds, Peter Pan was back where he’d just been, bringing a powerful gust of wind back with him. “I’m a lot faster than you guys think. I can be anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye.” he proudly declared. “That means, I can check up on you. Make sure that none of you are getting yourselves in trouble.” “But how are we supposed to reach you?” Grover asked. Pan smiled. “Just call me. You all know it.” he said. Squirt grinned at him. She then cupped her hands, tilted her head back and let out a cry that was halfway between “irate rooster” and “strangled cat”. (Cont.)

You, Felicia, Prowler, and Hill moved away to continue your conversation.

Hill leaned her head to the left slightly to glance over your shoulder. You assumed that she was looking at Callisto.
“Check your math, Huntsman. I’m giving you more than what most government agents make as an annual salary. You earned it in only three days. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal.” Hill said. "Besides, that's a Kravinoff you've got back there. I'm guessing she didn't tag along because she was hurting for cash. You'll be getting her share all to yourself."
You shook your head. “This wasn’t just some regular rescue mission. We literally dove into a magical realm and gathered up a bunch of mutant kids that went mad with power. We fought a giant croc, immortal pirates, and we did it all without leaving anyone behind or letting anyone die!” you argued.
Hill gave you a flat look. “I’m aware. You encountering Tick Tock was unfortunate, but you were more than a match for Hook and his pirates. You were the only ones with guns that fired more than one bullet.”

For now, you and the others should come down to the lower decks.” she advised. “None of you want to be up here when we start moving.” —--------- Once the Lost Boys had finished screaming their heads off, you lead them all further down into the ship. Glass and Peter Pan were helping them get situated, which allowed you and Callisto to have a brief talk about the options you had for sewer renovations. You would have to try and improve their quality of life without drawing too much attention or wasting money on pointless features. It was a bit more challenging than you thought. You had to wonder if it was truly worth it to try and cover up the true purpose behind the underground construction. A little later, you were leisurely chatting with Anastasia about your trophies and the highlights of your hunt. She never did manage to get that mermaid flesh that she wanted. But hey, there’s always next time. —------->$600,000 has been added to your Inventory A few hours later, you were back in The Big Apple, breathing in that familiar polluted air that you’ve lived with for almost your entire life. You said your goodbyes to the kids, wished them the best, and hoped that you left a decent impression on them. It was sort of hard to tell when Tinkerbell had been buzzing around your head the entire time. Apparently, she was pretty upset with you about that stunt you pulled on Pan. But even she couldn’t ruin your good mood. Because according to Hill, the lab techs made a “breakthrough” in their research, and they were beginning to synthesize a miracle drug to help stabilize Gwen’s condition. If all went well, she should be able to leave her cell within the week! As soon as she was approved, Doc Connors would be released as well. He could’ve left earlier, but he volunteered to stay in order to aid in the drug’s development. He was truly the nicest mark that you’ve ever robbed. The only real downside here was the absence of one of your teammates. With Glass volunteering to escort the kids to Xavier’s and check the place out for himself, you would be short a Desperado for a little while. The guy didn’t even ask for his cut of the money. Callisto had to force a donation on him just to make sure he had enough for food. When you questioned her about it, all she said was that Glass had spent more time out on the streets than any Morlock or mutant she knew. (Cont.)

Callisto needed to check on things back at the Morlock base. Felicia needed to find a buyer for those gold coins. Prowler wanted to check on someone. Probably a relative or a lover.
And Anastasia wanted to haul her trophies back to wherever she was holed up.
What will you do?
>Text Cindy and see if you can meet up with her. You haven’t seen her in forever! >Head over to the hospital to see your family. Flint should probably be there too. >Invite everyone over to your place to celebrate! Drinks are on you, tonight! >Swing home and collapse in your bed. You feel like you haven’t slept in days. >Write-in. Also, how will you split the cash? Anastasia didn’t ask for any money, and she’s already told you that her family is well off.
And Callisto would most likely put her portion towards the sewer construction or the homeless fund that she’s been saving up.

Just as Hill suspected, Ana didn’t ask for a cut of the pay, and she refused when you offered it to her. Her trophies and the thrill of the hunt was reward enough for her. And since Glass was already gone, Callisto just told you to put both your shares towards Morlock Renovations. Cat and Prowler were fine with this, and took an equal cut of what was remaining.>$112,500 added to Inventory! >$262,500 added to the Morlock fund! With that out of the way, you all said your goodbyes and went your separate ways. As soon as they were gone, you shot a message to Cindy saying that you were back and that you wanted to meet at the hospital. Flint and the rest of your family should probably still be there too. In response, you received a metric fuck-ton of emojis from your young ward, expressing her delight at hearing from you again. “BEEEEEEEN! : D” she replied. “Missed you too, Cindy.” “How’d your mission go? <_<” “Not bad. It was almost therapeutic for you to be hurtling through the air at 80 miles an hour. After being stuck on an island with very few buildings, you hadn’t realized just how much you missed this. You never want to be stuck out on the open ocean ever again if you can help it. Trying to ignore the buzzing phone in your pocket, you decided to swing by your place for a quick change of clothes, a shower, and a place to put your hard-earned cash. —------ By the time you’d arrived at the hospital, Cindy and Flint were already there waiting for you. Flint looked the same as ever, his overall appearance unchanging due to his unique condition. Cindy, on the other hand, seemed to be sporting a new look. Her hair was bundled up into a neat little bun on top of her head, and her bangs were being kept out of her face by a series of colorful hair clips. But that wasn’t what drew your attention. The girl’s face was covered in tiny bruises, and there was an even nastier wound over her nose that was being covered by medical tape. Unbeknownst to both of them, your good cheer had almost left you entirely, then. “Benny!” Flint said, coming forward to wrap his massive arms around your neck. “The kid tells me that you brought back souvenirs.” “Good to see you too, pal.” you said, smiling despite yourself, and fighting back a cough as a fresh wave of sand was swept into your nostrils. “I think we need to see about adding more protective gear to your new suit.” you said. “I need ****.” Cindy said, signing so quickly that you couldn’t quite make out that last word. Upon noticing your confusion, she repeated the sentence, but much slower this time. “I need mobility. My suit needs to be flexible.” You nodded. “I understand that, but I still need to make sure that you’re safe. You shouldn’t be taking any big hits at your size. It could cause some serious health problems.” Cindy frowned a bit, but she nodded her understanding. “Remind me to introduce you to Julia when we’re finished here. If you’re gonna be out in the field, you’ll need backup.” you said, pulling another croc tooth out of your bag and handing it to Cindy. “We’ll talk about this later.” Whatever retort Cindy had prepared was immediately forgotten when she got her hands on the freshly plucked tooth. It was still a bit bloody, but neither one of them seemed to mind much. “Thanks for holding down the fort, Flint.” you said, patting the big man on the shoulder. “I’ll be sure to pay you back for this later.” Flint gave you a broad grin. “I like to be paid in cash, but I’ll leave it up to you to surprise me.” You grinned back at him. Oh, he’ll be surprised, alright. You couldn’t wait for Cat to appraise the treasure that you got from Neverland. Marko’s eyes might just bulge out of his head when he sees those shiny new rings. “Yeah? Be careful what you wish for. How’s Rich and Vic?” you asked. “Rich is doing a lot better. He’s walking around on crutches and the swelling in his face went down. The doc says that they should be able to release him soon.” he explained. Your smile broadened. “That’s great! What about Vic?” Flint scratched the back of his neck and his smile grew sheepish for a second. “Yeah, she’s alright. No real big changes.” he said. Huh. Well, that’s odd. Flint just lied to you. And not in a playful or sarcastic way, either. Now in most cases, you’re not one to judge whether someone tells the truth or not. Considering how often you do it, you’d feel like a hypocrite giving someone else shit for it. The problem here was that you didn’t know how big or small the lie was. And this one was about your sister. —------- On the way up to your brother’s room, you caught up with Flint and Cindy. While you were gone, your good buddy had finished fixing up the Wall-Crawler, replacing the window, and cleaning up the shattered glass inside. He had also been asking around about Max and the Chameleon. And while his leads on the Russian spy went cold, he thought he had a decent lead on Max that might pan out. He was just waiting for you to return so that you could look into it together. (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YmIMHbCB Sat 23 Jul 2022 21:41:42 No. 5349571 Report Cindy on the other hand, had a much more active role to play in the city. With Matt and Angela busy crippling Tombstone’s operations, the little Avatar of Khonshu had been dispatching local gangsters and mercenaries in the area. To assuage your worries, she assured you that she utilized stealth more often than not in her fights. That was one of her father’s core principles when it came to teaching her. And thank God for that.
It was only when Cindy told you about her visit to the Midnight Mission that you halted your steps in the middle of the hallway. She had gone to see Moon Knight again.
You wanted to ask more, but given how limited her vocabulary was in sign language, and your lack of comprehension, you decided to leave it for another time. Also, you were almost to your brother's room, and you felt weird about standing out here with all these people staring at you.
By the time you walked through the door, you were greeted by the sight of your brother sitting on the edge of his bed with a pair of crutches leaning next to him. Just like Flint said, he was looking a lot better. So much so that it didn’t cause him physical pain to give you that smug grin that he was so well known for.
“Hey, Ben. Back already?” he said, not bothering to get up with that cast on his leg.
“Hey. You’re looking better.” you observed, glancing around the room to see your sister sitting in a chair across from the bed. She gave you a wave and returned it with a nod. “Where’s Pete?”
“He’s out with Mom and Dad getting ice cream.” Vic said. “How was your trip?”

>>5353734 Nope! My neighbor's massive tree has been dying for a while now, and its branches have been falling into my backyard and into my pool. The most recent branch to fall knocked down my phone lines, and they just got put back up by my ISP. I wonder... could we make our own explosive grenades with the Mark of Kaine mutation. IIRC the explosion is two-part (explosive hair+accelerant). Sure, Ben is killing less but having an explosive option that isn't strictly melee range would be nice. While I'm at it the PS4 Spider-Man game reminded me of a more feasible option; Web Trip Mines. We'd probably need Prowler to walk us through the creation progress though.

I left the project, and never looked back. I guess some part of me had hoped that they’d abandon it too, once they realized how impossible it was.”
“Not impossible enough, apparently.” you commented.
Richard looked up at you sharply, his gaze unwavering as he took another long look at you.
“Who told you about all this?” Richard said, his voice a low rumble in the quiet hospital room. “Did someone hire you? Was it Oscorp, or one of their competitors? You need to tell me.”
The sudden shift in your brother’s mood momentarily threw you off guard. You haven’t seen him this serious since…well, never! Whatever he’d seen in that lab must’ve spooked him real good.
You brother must have mistaken your stunned silence for stubbornness, because he kept pleading.
“Please, Ben. This isn’t one of your ‘gigs’ or jobs. Lives could be at risk.” he insisted. “...Have you been exposed?”
It doesn’t sound like he’ll give you anything more unless you offer some information in return.
What will you say?

Let out a long, suffering, spectacular sigh. Richard seemed to blink in surprise at the sheer amount of melodrama behind the gesture. You fixed your brother with a serious look. “This is between you and me. Same goes for any conclusions you might come to as a result of it.” you said. “O-of course.” Richard agreed, bracing himself for impact. You nodded seriously, and then let your expression return to a relaxed one. You took a few steps back, turned towards a wall and began walking towards it. “Uh...Ben? What’re yo-” The words died in his throat as soon as he saw you plant a foot firmly onto the wall and continue walking up it, unimpeded by gravity or the laws of physics. His mouth gaped as his eyes trailed your form, casually moving from the wall to the ceiling as if it were the most normal thing in the world. Once you were completely upside down, you turned to face your brother once more. “If you think this is weird, then you should’ve seen Doctor Connors a few weeks back.” you said with an inverted shrug of your shoulders. Richard opened his mouth, and then closed it again. He breathed out through his mouth and ran a hand through his hair. “Jesus Christ, Ben. What’ve you gotten yourself into?” he said, sounding exasperated. You dropped from the ceiling and easily flipped end over end to land on your feet once more. “I’m sure you need some time to process this…but I’m gonna need you to speed things up a bit. Vic might come back any minute now.” you said, pointing a thumb at the door. “Y-you mentioned Connors.” Rich began, recovering a bit faster than you expected him to. “Did he expose you to the…” You were already shaking your head. “Not exactly. I was at his lab when the accident happened, though.” “Accident. So you weren’t forced, or…you didn’t dose yourself willingly?” You shook your head again. Although, you probably would’ve done it on purpose if you knew that it would give you cool spider powers. But you decided to keep that part to yourself. “So you’re a…Gamma Mutate.” Rich said, snapping as he spoke. “Your DNA’s been altered, but you still look normal. Have you been experiencing any severe symptoms of declining health?” “Nope. Everything’s been pretty much going uphill since the bite.” you informed him. “But the Doc thinks that someone released the spider into his lab on purpose.” Richard paused, and you got the feeling that he very much would have liked to be able to pace around the room right about now. After a long pause, he nodded. “You got incredibly lucky. If someone’s starting up human trials again, then that means that they’re willing to sacrifice a couple of lives in order to achieve their goals.” he decided. “What we need to figure out is what their motive is.” (Cont.)

Richard didn’t seem entirely convinced. “I’m not so sure. You said that the one that bit you was in Connor’s lab?”
You nodded, before gasping out of shock. “You don’t think that-”
“That the first one was meant for Connors, and you just so happened to be in the way? I do.” Rich confirmed. “I think someone targeted him specifically.”
“Do you think they were trying to get rid of him?” you guessed.
Rich shook his head. “Whoever’s doing this clearly knows about our research. They would know that a single spider bite wouldn’t be enough for a guaranteed kill. No…whoever’s doing this must be trying to discredit the researchers that were involved in the project. Maybe they’re trying to send a message, or enact some sort of sick revenge.”
“Do we know anyone that might be motivated enough to go through with that?” you asked.
Your brother rubbed at his chin thoughtfully. “I’d have to do some digging…”
“You mean we’ll have to do some digging.” you corrected him, clapping your brother on the shoulder. “Right after we figure out what we’re gonna do about the Russian Mob. Because I seriously doubt that we can just ignore those guys.”
Richard gave you a sheepish grin. “I heard those Punisher girls took care of them. I don’t think they’ll be coming for me anytime soon.”
“Rich…”
“I’ll be fine, Ben. They caught me off-guard before. Won’t happen again.” he promised.
You opened your mouth to protest, but Vic and the others reentered the room a moment later. Cindy looked annoyed, and your sister seemed content with the outcome of their little check-up.
You exchanged a knowing look with your brother, and the two of you dropped the topic for the time being. You wouldn’t be able to have a truly private conversation until he was discharged from this hospital. For now, you’d just have to try and digest what your brother just told you.

But after having stayed up late with Cindy and Flint, your motivation to suit up had gone down drastically. Instead, you opted for a phone call to the Morlock payphone. It wasn’t like you had to be there personally to plan for construction. Callisto already knew where she would put everything, and you’d done your research beforehand.
It took a couple of tries, but the sewer queen answered with only a hint of irritation in her voice. It must’ve been a late night for her too.
Without further delay, the two of you got right down to business.

You had to keep reminding yourself that this was an investment, and in a few weeks(or possibly months), you’ll be reaping the benefits. This should ensure Morlock loyalty, or at least Callisto’s. You had to hope that everyone else was as on board with these executive decisions as she was. Every time you went down there, you couldn’t shake the distinct impression that some Morlocks hated the idea of having their community invaded by some smooth-talking topsider. But alas, these were problems for another day. And somehow, those thoughts were far more comforting than the mission that you’d set for yourself today. You vaguely remembered suiting up, swinging out of your warehouse, and making your way over to the Midnight Mission, with Cindy urging you to knock on the front door. It was broad daylight, and somehow the large ebony office building seemed to radiate an aura so menacing that you felt like you were staring down a pitch black alleyway in the middle of the night. Was it just you, or did the building itself feel…angry? Like a drunk patron at a bar who was ready to punch your lights out at any given moment. When you shared this sentiment with Cindy, she gave you a befuddled look and silently chastised you for talking nonsense instead of knocking on the door like you’d promised. Oh, man. This was a terrible idea! It’s way too soon! The wound’s too fresh. What were you even supposed to say to the guy? “Hey, dawg. Like, sorry I stabbed your brother in the heart, and stuff. I totally didn't mean it. Wanna go grab a few beers later?” It wasn’t like they made cards for this shit! A swift kick to the rear brought you out of your endless spiral of paranoia, and you turned to glare at the culprit. She just glared right back and jerked her head towards the door. She was right. You were stalling. Might as well get this over with. Did you bring anything to aid in your apology?>Apology cards. I just preventively wrote an apology, but need to go run errands now and might miss the next update if Score writes it today. So I'm dropping it now just in case, so other anons can recycle parts from it depending on the circunstances.>I've been thinking a lot, ever since that night, on what you and Matt said. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for what I did, I've been trying to be better. At the risk of sounding like an excuse, but I was so full of myself after getting powers, so filled with rage after the vampires tried to hurt my family, that I believed anything I done to them would be right. I didn't even think to put myself in your shoes, to think he was your brother, that of course you would want to help him up even after his betrayal. Because that's exactly what I would have done in your place. >I'm not going to insult you by asking if there is some way to make up for it, or for you to forgive me. I only ask for you to not try to settle this grudge, not for my sake, but for any innocents that would end up getting in the way. And that you teach and guide Cindy on how to be a proper protector of the night. This is it proper>I also need help trackind down the monster that stole her voice, to return it to her. It is a magical creature, there is only so much I can do. If you can't bring yourself to work with your brother's murderer, then I beg for you to atleast do it on your own. I'll share the little info I already have on it either way. This is the reason I voted to come to him in the first place, but I think it might be unnecessary or make it seem more fake, so I don't know if we should include it.

In all honesty…you’ve got nothing. You couldn’t think of anything that could ever make up for what you did. The best thing you could do here is to own up to it and leave the rest in Moon Knight’s hands. You took a deep breath and finally worked up the nerve to knock on the front door. You got the distinct impression that the building took offense when you touched it. It clearly wanted nothing to do with you, but your young ward was insistent on you seeing this through. For a while, nothing happened. You started to hope that somehow, everyone was out to lunch, and you could finally go back home, claiming that you tried your very best to make amends. Because clearly, you had no choice but to avoid the painfully awkward conversation that was fast approaching. But then, the front doors clicked open and gently swung inward as if they’d been automated. Inside, you saw Reese typing away at a computer at the front desk. Her crimson eyes drifted over to glance at you for a moment, before returning to her computer screen. Either she was disinterested in your presence, or she was mad at you too. You honestly couldn’t tell. You and Cindy walked inside, feeling a bit strange in your respective costumes while inside this formal office setting. “Is, uh…Moon Knight here?” you asked. “What is the nature of your visit?” Reese inquired, not meeting your eyes. You exchanged a look with Cindy and cleared your throat before trying again. “Look, I just want to talk to him. I’m here to apologize for–” A loud beep interrupted your confession, as Marc’s voice played over the intercom. “Send them in, Reese.” he said, his voice sounding a bit hoarse. She sighed slightly and gestured towards Marc’s office. The door was already swinging open to allow you entry. But before you could approach, you saw two people leaving the room. One of them, you recognized instantly! It was Tigra! The sexy cat lady that used to be on the Avengers! What was she doing here? She wore her signature orange fur and black stripes. And to your great disappointment, she was well dressed and about as covered up as your average fashionable young woman could get. You really miss the days when she was less reserved… The guy next to her was less remarkable. He had long brown hair reaching down to his back, and a thick, scraggly beard that looked like it could clog up a lawnmower. His clothes were noticeably ratty, and you were hard pressed to think of him as anything other than a homeless person, a dedicated hipster or a hippie. They both stepped around you to allow you entry, and you couldn’t help but risk a second glance at Tigra as she walked away. She was eyeing you suspiciously with those sharp, feline eyes of hers. The mutual eye contact surprised you, severely hindering your ability to check out her ass as she left. Damn! (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:g8Caf6Po Sat 30 Jul 2022 23:10:40 No. 5357287 Report You quickly put the thought out of your mind for the moment, steeling yourself for the inevitable tongue-lashing that you were about to receive. With Cindy urging you forward, you took one step after another, trying to figure out what you would say to the man once you laid eyes on him. Hell, you’d be lucky if all he did was punch you.
When you entered the room, you were forced to stop and appreciate how Marc somehow managed to clutter the office space even more. There was barely any room to stand, let alone sit.
The man in question was standing on the far side of the room where a path had been carved to make space for his drink cabinet. At the moment, he was pouring himself a glass of brandy, his pristine clothes slightly disheveled, but not stained in the slightest as he pulled his mask up for a drink.
“Huntsman. Miss Moon. What brings you here?” he asked conversationally, not turning to look at you.
What will you say?

“I’ve been thinking a lot. Ever since that night, about what you and Matt said. I just wanted to say that I’m…I’m sorry for what I did.” you admitted. Marc turned to face you, his expression unreadable under that white mask. He said nothing, so you just kept talking while you still had momentum to build off of. “I’ve been trying to get better. At the risk of this sounding like an excuse, I feel like Matt knew more about how I was feeling than I even did at the moment. I was so full of myself after I’d gotten my powers. So full of rage after those vampires went after my family like that. I thought that they deserved whatever I did to them.” you said, making a physical effort to unclench your fists and slow your breathing. You met Marc’s eyes, then. “It didn’t even cross my mind to think about how you must’ve been feeling. He was your brother, and even after everything that he did to you, you still wanted to believe that you could help him. Because that’s exactly what I would’ve done.” Marc grimaced and gripped the edges of the table that he was leaning against. “Look, I’m not gonna insult you by asking if there’s anything I can do to make it up to you. I just want to avoid a feud or an act of vengeance in the future. But most of all,” You pulled Cindy a bit closer. Her eyes seemed to indicate that she was smiling underneath that mask. “I really hope that you can continue to teach and guide CIndy on how to be a proper protector of the night.” A heavy silence lingered in the cramped office space, and the tension was so thick that you thought your dagger would get stuck in mid-air if you tossed it across the table. And right when you were starting to think that it was becoming unbearable, Marc straightened and polished off the last of his drink. The sound of him dropping the glass back down on the table was much louder than it should’ve been in the small room. “I have to admit, I didn’t expect to hear from you anytime soon. I thought Ms. Moon was giving you too much credit when she said that you would come back to apologize.” he said, tapping a gloved finger onto the table’s edge. “I understand why you did it, you know. You were scared, confused, and pissed as hell. That’s a dangerous combination if I’ve ever heard of one.” Marc let out a dry, humorless chuckle. “You know, Khonshu was very pleased with the outcome of that night. He said that you did what I never had the guts to do. Honestly, I’m not sure if he’s completely wrong about that.” he confessed. “Randall was dangerous. A deranged and broken man that let his own pride lead him astray.” “But he was your brother too.” you insisted. (Cont.)

Randall was always a bastard, even before he was influenced by a false god. I knew that this day would be coming, eventually.” he said, shaking his head slightly. “...And I really thought his death would make me feel better. I thought I was strong enough to handle it.” He and Cindy briefly glanced over to a depiction of Khonshu, before returning their gazes to each other. “I guess I still had some…unresolved issues with him, even now. Holding him in my arms like that…it brought back old memories. Memories that I wasn’t prepared to deal with.” You stared at Marc, unsure of what to say. Luckily, you didn’t have to say anything. Because the masked vigilante was already pouring another glass and sliding it towards you on the table. You took it cautiously and exchanged a concerned glance with Cindy. Marc raised his glass and gave you a weak smile. “In truth, my brother died a long time ago, Ben. And I intend to honor the man that he was, rather than the monster that he became.” he declared. You nodded and raised your glass as well. “To brothers.” you said. After a pause, Marc echoed your sentiment. “...To brothers.” You both emptied your glasses and slammed your glasses back down on the table. You both looked at Cindy, who was gazing at Marc’s liquor cabinet with some interest. “...I think I have some soda around here. Maybe Reese knows where.” he decided, rummaging around in his cluttered office. You and Cindy just stared at his back for a while, before she turned to nudge you with an elbow. You rolled your eyes at her. She was so pushy today! “Marc, I need a favor from you.” you began. He froze and turned back to look at you over his shoulder. “We need help tracking down the monster that stole Cindy’s voice, so that we can return it to her. I know that it’s a magical creature, and there’s only so much that I can do on my own.” you explained. “If you don’t want to work with me, I totally understand. So long as you’re the one looking into it, I’ll feel comfortable leaving it in your hands.” Marc nodded slowly as you spoke, and he pulled out his phone before you even finished explaining. “I can make a few calls. Louise should still be somewhere nearby, and I have another ally whom I can depend on in supernatural emergencies.” he said. You blinked at him. “J-just like that?” “Ms. Moon is a colleague and a friend. If there is anything that I can do to help her in her time of need, then I’ll offer whatever help I can.” Marc declared. It dawned on you then that you had far more selfless people in your life than you reasonably deserved. “They should be here later tonight. Shall I give them an address to meet you at?” he asked. (Cont.)

“Tell them to meet us here. We might as well pool our knowledge on this thing.” you suggested. Marc nodded and started sending out messages. As he did so, you decided to let him in on your little secret. You’ve been meaning to get an expert opinion on the matter, anyway. “Madame Web contacted me.” you blurted out. Marc stopped what he was doing and turned to look at you. “She explained the whole Weaver deal. Do you think she would be able to help with this?” Marc shrugged. “...I have no idea what either of those things are. But if you think she can help, then I guess it’s worth a shot.” You frowned at him. “Aren’t you like an expert on Gods, or something? Khonshu mentioned the Weaver before I even knew what it was.” Marc shook his head slightly as he returned his attention back to his phone. “I’m not terribly big on theology, but I haven’t read any ancient texts or history books that mention something called a ‘Weaver’. If you want to know anything more, then you’ll have to pry it out of Khonshu.” A confused glance from Cindy reminded you that she had never met Madame Web, and you’d never really pulled her aside to explain the whole thing to her. Even through her mask, you could tell that she was terribly lost in this conversation. You decided to change the conversation for now. Cindy would understand everything once you introduced her to Julia. “How’s the, uh…cult doing? I know that whole vampire fiasco must’ve done a number on attendance.” you said. “Me and Louise managed to clear out the stragglers. Most of the human members of the congregation left before they could be turned, but a few stayed out of loyalty. Me and a colleague of mine are working to remedy the situation.” Marc reported. “So the cult’s here to stay?” Marc nodded. “I don’t see any harm in letting them stay. All they need is proper guidance.” “That’s nice of you.” Cindy said in sign language, seeming pleased. “It’s the least I could do.” Marc replied, surprising you with the newfound knowledge that he even understood sign language. Cindy froze up suddenly, and her mood seemed to take a sudden shift. It was the unspoken, repentant oath in Marc's words that you hadn’t picked up on before. If he had stepped in earlier, then Cindy’s parents might not have died. They both understood that. And for a moment, your heart ached for the kid. You would do whatever it took to bring back her smile, and her voice. That was a promise that you intended to keep. —----- While you waited for Marc’s guests to arrive, you spent your free time explaining the deal with the Great Weaver to Cindy. She didn’t seem like she understood what you were trying to convey, so you attempted to consult Khonshu on the matter. And…you got no response. (Cont.)

Her eyes focused on the girl in question and her smile widened a bit. “This the one?” she asked Marc. He nodded. “Alrighty, then. Cindy tugged her mask down, revealing the lower half of her face. “Mouth open…” Nico added. Cindy sighed, but she complied without argument. Without hesitation, Sister Grimm sliced her finger open, allowing the blood to trickle down her arm and onto Moon Knight’s clean carpets. Nico closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. And when she opened them again, they were glowing a vibrant purple. Suddenly, a black staff shot out of her chest! It was long, with a golden ring crested atop it. The moment of intrigue was quickly broken, though. Right along with the defenseless vase that had been in its path. You heard a long, weary sigh from Marc, and Nico winced apologetically. “Sorry. You can bill me later.” she said, twirling her staff with a blank expression on her face. Flowing, purple streaks of light filled the air and swirled around her, like water flowing around a river rock. She was manipulating mystical energies so freely that even an amateur like you could see it! The flow of magic came to an abrupt stop as a thick tome sprang into existence, hovering directly in front of her. It opened without any physical encouragement on her part, and you watched in awe as the pages flipped from left to right at an incredible speed. Finally, the pages stopped, and you got the sense that she was reading something from the text. After about a minute, the girl gasped, and her eyes went wide. She frowned, conjured up several more tomes, and began flipping through them all at the same time. With a flick of her hand, she rotated the books around her body as if it were the focal point in a roulette wheel. When she dismissed the books, you became keenly aware of the breath that you’d been holding this entire time, and released it. Nico looked you dead in the face, and then gave Cindy an unreadable expression. “Have any of you ever heard of a ‘Silvertongue’?” she inquired. Everyone shook their heads. She sighed, and seemed to weigh her next words in her head. It was the same expression that Pandora wore. You started to worry that she might refuse to tell you as well, but she had a resigned look in her eye when she returned her attention to you. “All of you might want to sit down for this.” she suggested. —----- Once Reese brought out the good chairs, Marc cleared some space around the table and brought out the tea that Louise liked to drink while she was visiting. According to Marc, she would be here shortly. But the Nightguard would have to play catch-up, because there was no way that you were putting this off. Nico slowly sipped her tea and placed the cup back down before speaking, panning her gaze around the table as she did so. Her staff was leaning against Marc’s desk, since she didn’t feel like cutting herself in order to re-summon it. “From the looks of it, your girl here was attacked by a magic parasite. They’re called ‘Silvertongues’, and they were actually thought to be extinct on account of the Magic Council trying to eradicate them when they'd first started becoming a problem.” Nico began. “Think of this as a magical variant of that. They burrow into creature’s mouths, eat their food and puppet their bodies. “That doesn’t explain why Ms. Moon cannot speak.” Moon Knight argued.

I try not to include too much drama, and I consider how individual characters would react to tragic events, betrayal, etc. People are complicated, and sometimes behave unpredictably. I want to incorporate some of that into my writing so it doesn't feel like I'm writing a CW drama.

“Okay. I’m starting to understand why I was told to stay away from this thing. How do we even hunt something like that?” you said. Nico just shrugged. “Dunno, but we’re gonna have to go about this carefully. If we screw up, then there’s a distinct possibility that the Silvertongue hops to a new body and goes on a rampage.” “And what would that look like?” Marc asked. Nico grimaced. “These things have pulled apart entire civilizations and empires. They’re part of the reason that some languages died in the first place, and they might be responsible for more than we’re aware of.” she informed you. “And unless you’d like everyone in the city to lose the ability to comprehend the English language, then you should probably plan out your assault.” You gulped. “They’re that powerful?” Marc asked. Nico nodded. “Just try not to piss it off.” “We don’t even know what they look like.” you argued. “How’re we supposed to find it?” [“I think I can be of some use in that regard.” said a familiar voice. Louise pushed the door open and confidently strode the room, her cloak billowing slightly as she moved. Now she was just showing off. Nico chuckled. “Dramatic much?” —------- Despite her dramatic entrance, Louise had to be briefed on a summarized version of your current dilemma. Being a seasoned monster hunter, she seemed to take it in stride. Although, the possibility of having the entire population of New York turned into mute savages was less than appealing. “Is it possible for Cindy to get her voice back from this thing?” you asked. “It didn’t…digest it, did it?” Nico shook her head. “Nope. The fact that she’s still standing and not screeching like a deranged chimp means that the Silvertongue is probably borrowing her voice. So if you kill it, there’s a good chance that she’ll get her voice back.” You and Cindy both breathed a sigh of relief. That seemed to improve her mood a bit. “You say that as if killing it will be simple.” Louise said with a raised eyebrow. “We have no idea how they were eliminated in the past, or if they have any resistances that we need to worry about.” “And that’s only half of our worries.” Marc cut in. “If they burrow into the mouths of living creatures, then it could be anyone, or anything in this city. Finding it won’t be simple.” “I’ll try to put together a scrying spell that can lock onto its magical signature.” Nico promised. “I hope the little bugger isn’t proficient at warding.” “And I shall search through the archives of my order.” Louise added. “Hopefully, they should have sufficient information on how to identify and kill such creatures.” (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:g8Caf6Po Mon 01 Aug 2022 19:11:01 No. 5359376 Report You very badly wanted to volunteer your services as well, but this wasn’t your area of expertise. You couldn’t just go around checking the mouth of every person and dog that walked by you on the street. The thing could probably perfectly imitate its host, as well. It sounded intelligent.
Cindy sat up a bit and started signing frantically. She tried to offer a description of the people that tried to kill her in her parents home. Nico stopped her before she could get any further, however.
“There’s no point. I’d bet that it hopped bodies right after it stole your voice.” she said. “She probably looks completely different now.”
“Why are we certain that ‘it’ is a ‘she’?” Louise inquired.
“It stole a girl’s voice. Chances are that it chose an appearance to match its new voice.” Nico reasoned.

Dammit! There really was nothing left for you to do.
Wait. Didn’t you know someone that has the absurdly useful ability to kill just about anything? Maybe Terminal could kill the parasite for you!
But that would require you to spill the beans on Morbius’ secret. And if it got out, then that might spell trouble for the world in more than one way. Also, you were desperately avoiding having to be around the guy any longer than was completely necessary.
This meeting looks like it might wrap up soon. What will you say?

Everyone else at the table exchanged a quick glance before meeting your eyes with confident grins on their faces. “Nonsense! What do you think we do for a living?” Louise asked, gesturing to Marc beside her. “We hunt, how you say…’the things that go bump in the night’.” Moon Knight nodded in agreement, but Nico raised her hand and leaned away from them a bit. “Not me. I’m only here because I’m getting paid.” she said. Louise rolled her eyes. “Don’t listen to her. She’s just trying to act tough. No one in their right mind would willingly go up against a threat of this magnitude without a good reason.” she reasoned. “Then I suppose it’s a good thing that no one in this room is in their right mind.” Marc offered. None of you could honestly refute that, so you remained quiet for a minute to let that sink in. “Is there anything I can do to contribute?” you asked. “Keep your ear low to the ground, but don’t do anything overly suspicious.” Marc advised. “We wouldn’t want to scare the thing off. So long as we know that it’s still in the city, we have a decent chance of tracking it down.” You nodded. “Don’t tip it off. Got it. Anything else?” “Just be on standby for when we need you.” Nico added. “We need room to work, and you’re a little out of your depth, here. If we go poking around, then we might either tip it off, or piss it off.” Her words were a little on the brusque side, but she had a point. You just hated feeling so helpless in this situation! Maybe you could leverage some of your contacts in order to get more information. “Do you think we should let Morbius in on this? He might be of some use.” you suggested. A shadow briefly passed over Louise’s face, but Nico was the one to answer. “The vampire guy? I guess he might know something. I’m not sure how deep his connections run, but you’re welcome to give it a shot.” —---- The meeting wrapped up sometime soon after that, with each and every member promising to play some crucial role in the investigation to come. And while you might not have such a crucial role at this very moment, you would be there for the hunt. Of that, you were certain. —----- After you’d left the Midnight Mission, you and Cindy leisurely swung through the city, making your way to the spot that you’d promised to meet Matt and Angela at. Predictably, it was another rooftop. Those vigilante types sure do love their rooftops. Just once, you’d like to kick back, crack open a few beers, and maybe another soda for Cindy. By the time you got there, both of them were already waiting for you. In costume, of course. “Hey, guys. How goes the hunt for Tombstone’s men? you asked. (Cont.)

To your mild surprise, you came back to an empty warehouse. Flint wasn’t there to greet you, and the other two were busy doing their own thing. So you and Cindy went to your rooms and changed into your night clothes in complete and total silence. The next morning, you awoke earlier than usual and started making breakfast for both you and Cindy. The girl was pleasantly surprised by this and offered to help you in the kitchen. You weren’t originally aware that she knew how to cook, but she quickly explained that she was helping her Mom to fill out that recipe book.
You froze for a moment, but quickly attempted to change the subject. Too late.
By the time she’d realized what she had signed, her whole face dropped. Breakfast prep had gone by quickly, but the heavy mood lingered over the table while the two of you ate. You very much wanted to cheer her up somehow, but nothing immediately came to mind.
“...How’s it taste?” you asked.
Cindy nodded as she unenthusiastically shoveled a forkful of scrambled eggs into her mouth. You tried not to take it personally.
“That was a…nice touch with the garlic pepper.”
Another nod. She was now using her fork to stir the food on her plate.
Shit! Another miss.
You were going to have to try and engage her without pissing her off.
“What’re your plans for today?” you said.

You nodded happily. “Oh, nice. Matt’s started up training again.”
Matt must be relegating some of his duties to his super-friends while he handles Cindy’s training. You really appreciate him taking an active role in her learning.
And speaking of learning, what were you going to do about school? She was still a kid, and she would need a decent education if she was going to have any hope of leading a halfway decent life.
Cindy brightened slightly when you recounted stories of Matt’s insane training methods. It was nice to have someone that you could confide in about that stuff.

After breakfast, the two of you headed out in your respective costumes and went your separate ways. You felt particularly proud after having packed her lunch for the trip. You were really starting to get the hang of this whole “surrogate parent” thing!

Upon arriving at one of Silvermane’s safehouses, you were surprised to find that he was waiting for you alone. There were no bodyguards and no Saya. Just him, and a bag full of what you hoped was your money.
He stood to greet you, a slightly nervous smile on his face. “Huntsman. I’m glad you made it. I trust you’re in good health?”
What will you say/do?

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YhbBs4j9 Sat 06 Aug 2022 14:27:21 No. 5363827 Report The next morning, you awoke earlier than usual and started making breakfast for both you and Cindy.
“Training with the Devil.” she signed.

IDK but it's really uncharacteristic that Silvio it's this nervious, even after all we did for him and the help we offered, plus that he's all alone by himself
also Score, If our spider-sense is somehow a little bit powered by Benny's paranoia, it's possible that we can achieve some kind of specialty for these cases? Like for our spider-sense be like "Yeah dude, shit's looking kinda sus, watch out" when going in this type of scenarios

The only reason that Peter's senses were tingling in No Way Home was because Norrman was actively thinking of killing everyone in the room, and could've done so at any given moment. In that case, then yes, you'd be tipped off. You can sense immediately malicious intent aimed towards you.

Silvio let out a light chuckle. “Yeah. That’s the guy. He’s gained a foothold in the family ever since his accident, and he’s got more than a few loyal goons to back him up.” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he made you an offer to be one of his enforcers.” You didn’t care much for being a maggia goon, so you couldn’t see yourself ever accepting such an offer. “The Owl’s reached out to us, as well. But I’m not sure how much you’ll get out of that meeting.” Silvio admitted. “Who’s he?” you asked. Silvio leaned back in his seat. “Some freak who juiced himself up with some serum that gave him claws and the ability to fly. He’s got bigger operations in Chicago and San Fran.” he explained passively. “And he’s also got beef with your friend, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Not sure how much he’ll like the possibility of you doing business with one of his enemies, so if you have to, keep it hush.” You nodded. “Anyone else?” Silvio breathed a heavy sigh and puffed out his cheeks for a moment. “Oh, yeah. I saved the best for last. Luchino Nefaria would like to meet you. You’ve caught his eye.” At that moment, the bottom dropped out from your stomach, and you felt a complicated mix of emotions ranging from excitement to fear and anxiety rampaging through you. Luchino Nefaria. Also known as “Count Nefaria”, the man who single handedly defeated the Avengers all those years ago. Head of the Nefaria Crime Family, a subsidiary of the Maggia Crime Family…and he wants to meet with you. You must’ve been silent for a long time, because Silvio shook his head and laughed disdainfully. “It’s just like him to try and overstep his boundaries and walk all over us. He’s a guy that’s not used to being refused.” “So…what should I do?” you asked. “Personally, I recommend that you at least meet up with him. Even if you don’t intend to work for him, it’d be rude to ignore his invitation if you’ve got any hopes of staying in this line of work.” he advised, giving you a warning glance. “Just tell me what you need, Silvio. I’ll meet with your contacts if they agree to get your boys out.” you promised. The white-haired man’s lined face revealed even more wrinkles as a wide grin spread across his lips. “You don’t know how much I appreciate that, Huntsman. With a sigh, SIlvermane got up from his seat, grabbed the bag leaning against it and dropped it on the table before you. He gestured for you to open it and check its contents. You did exactly that…and gaped at the sheer amount that the bag contained! $1 Mil up front! What did you do to earn this in a single job’s worth of work!? Was it for beating Typhoid Mary? Or maybe for fighting through the city to put the suit in SIlvermane’s hands. Whatever it was, you’d clearly done something to impress him. You looked up to meet Silvermane’s smiling eyes, momentarily at a loss for words. “It’s nice, right? I threw in a little extra for your troubles. Late fees included.” he said, glancing at you hopefully. “Think of this as an act of goodwill. If possible, I’d like to…maintain this relationship that we’ve cultivated.” The delicate way with which he phrased that statement tipped you off immediately. Silvermane’s trying to ensure your loyalty, knowing full well that someone like Nefaria could, and will make a bigger offer in order to impress you. “Well, I appreciate the gesture, Silvio. And…I’ve got some good news for you if you haven’t already heard.” you declared. The crime boss leaned in closer, clearly intrigued by your words. “Tombstone's empire is taking a fall, and either Kingpin is gonna move in and get too big for his own good, or a new fish is gonna try and muscle their way into his old territory.” Silvio’s eyes widened, and he steepled his hands before his face in order to house the growing smile that was forming behind it. “Is that right?” he said, his eyes fixed on you intently. “And you know what I think?” you continued. “By the time you’re ready to start rebuilding, I think you’ll be able to find plenty of opportunities.” Silvio lowered his hands, not even trying to hide his expression anymore. “Well…that’s probably the best news I’ve heard all week. It’s gonna be hard to top that one.” he said, leaning back and nodding in a self-satisfied manner. “I knew he was having a rough time, but to think that he’s out of the game for good…” You could already see the ideas swirling around in his head. The possibilities through which he might expand and gain new territory. Sometime very soon, the Maggia was going to make a comeback in a big way. —------->$1,000,000 has been added to your account! After stopping home to drop off the cash, you were pleasantly surprised to see that Felicia had already beaten you there. You raised the bag triumphantly and was about to call out to her, but something about her troubled expression gave you pause, and your own mood began to falter. “What’s wrong, Cat? How’d the appraisal go?” you said, glancing between her and the case on the table. She’d likely sold off the chest as an antique for an additional payout. “There were…complications.” she admitted. (Cont.)

“I mean when I went to my usual guy to get the gold coins appraised, I was pretty much laughed out of the store.” she said in a frosty tone, her cheeks burning slightly. “That had to be one of the most humiliating moments of my life.”
“What are you talking about?” you asked.
She sighed and popped the latches on the case. “See for yourself.”
You gave her an odd look and knelt down to open the briefcase. The dazzling gleam of gold was bright enough to blind those that were unprepared to receive its majesty. But right when you were about to say something, you noticed an unusual feature of the coins. Specifically, the fact that they weren’t round at all. Not like they’d been before.
In fact, they looked flimsy and flaky, but not in a metallic sort of way. They almost looked like…
“Are these…flowers?” you said, looking up in confusion.
“I think we’ve been duped.” Cat confessed.
You rose to your full height, meeting her eyes evenly. “By who? Pandora? Hill? Peter Pan?”
Cat shook her head. “By the fairies, I think.” she said, running a clawed hand through her white hair. “This is a typical fairy prank. They charm people with gold, only for them to later realize that they’re just flowers that were made to look like gold. They think it’s hilarious.”

“I think it’s about time we paid our resident Sorcerer Supreme a little visit.” you declared. —------ Surprisingly, Cat decided to accompany you on your visit to the Sanctum Sanctorum. Hmm. Actually, it wasn’t that surprising. She probably just wanted to see what she could steal without drawing the ire of the most powerful sorcerer on the planet. But then again, she wouldn’t be Felicia if she didn’t try to squeeze at least a little bit of profit out of every potential opportunity. Upon arriving at the fabled, mystical townhouse known as the Sanctum Sanctorum, you had to admit that you were more than a little disappointed by its appearance. You were expecting something far more dramatic. Like a castle or a floating mansion. This thing was barely three stories tall, and seemed far less opulent than the building that you’d dragged your brother out of when you were attacking the Russian mob. Cat didn’t look that impressed by it either, but you both knew that looks were often deceiving when it came to magic. With one arm holding the box of fairy flowers close to your hip, you used your other hand to knock on the front door. It wasn’t too hard, or too loud, but just enough to announce your presence. You waited a few minutes in tense silence…and nothing happened. Feeling a bit annoyed, you knocked again, more insistently this time. And again, nothing. You started to wonder whether the Doctor was out on some super important wizard business when the front door cracked opened a hair, as if by accident. You resisted the urge to take a step back as the door slowly crept open, exposing the inky blackness permeating the room just beyond it. You exchanged a wary glance with Cat and risked calling out into the seemingly empty foyer. “Hello?” There was no response. Your spider sense wasn’t going off either, so you didn’t feel like you were in any immediate danger. Steeling your nerves, you fixed your grip on the wooden box and took a step inside. The floor creaked noisily with every move you made, which only added to the eerie atmosphere of the dimly lit sanctum. Cat was following right behind you, and you had the distinct feeling that she was casing the room with her night-vision goggles. While you didn’t have her gear, your night vision had gotten significantly better as a result of your mutation. You noticed immediately that the house was far bigger on the inside than you were initially led to believe. It looked far older than, say, Madame Web’s mansion, but it was unnaturally clean. You didn’t see a speck of dust floating through the air near the windows where moonlight rays beamed through the glass or caked onto the furniture. Perhaps Strange had a cleaning spell at work here.

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YhbBs4j9 Tue 09 Aug 2022 20:06:52 No. 5367659 Report You’d gotten halfway through the room when an audible creaking sound drew your attention to the wide staircase on the far side of the foyer. The shadow of a tall, slender man cut through the gentle moonbeams that were illuminating the staircase, and you could see a long, crimson cape fluttering behind him as he made his descent. “You know, this would still technically be considered ‘after hours’ for me. I get so very little sleep these days…” the figure said with an audible sigh. “What is it that you want?” he asked, not moving another step as he scrutinized you from his elevated position. You raised the box and removed its lid, allowing the golden flower’s radiant light to escape its confinement. The figure was silent for a long while, and you wished that you could see his expression beneath the shadow that he was casting. “Where did you get those?” he asked. “We…found them. In Neverland.” you replied carefully, glancing back at Cat. “Neverland? Like in the stories?” he inquired. You nodded, remembered that he probably couldn’t see the action, and gave a verbal confirmation. “Yeah. We’ve been there. Peter Pan’s real too.” “And Tinkerbell.” Cat added. “Will wonders never cease...” the man muttered under his breath. “And I assume you brought them to me because you believe them to be magical in nature?” “We were…thinking along those lines, yes.” The man paused, considered you for a moment, and then took a few more steps down, revealing his face. He looked older than his years, with white streaks in his jet black hair and facial hair. He wore a blue tunic with strange designs and symbols sewn into them, and a yellow sash around his waist. “Well…you’d be right. Those look exactly like the flowers that fairies like to leave with humans when they ask them for gold.” he explained, glancing down at the box. “And considering how they tend to leisurely travel between dimensions and realms, I’m not terribly surprised that some of them decided to settle on a mystical island.” He cleared the rest of the steps with surprising speed as he strode over to you and peered deeper into the box. You were almost afraid that he would snatch it away from you, but he only traced his fingers along the edges, his eyes glimmering as if he were mystified. “And what do you intend to do with these? Something tells me that you’re not here for a donation.” he said, not looking up to meet your eyes. What will you say?>”Well, that depends on what I can use them for. Do you think you can take a look at them?” >”I was thinking that they might have some valuable alchemical properties or something.” >”I was going to start a garden out in my backyard. “Well, that depends on what I can use them for. I was thinking that they might have some valuable alchemical properties, or something. Do you think you can take a look at them?” you requested. “I can share some of them with you if you tell me more about them.” Strange stroked his beard with a yellow, gloved hand and flitted his sharp, gray eyes between you and Cat. It felt like he was sizing you up. “I suppose that would be a decent trade.” he finally decided, taking the box from your hands. “You were wise to come to me before doing anything drastic.” “Why? Are they dangerous?” you asked. Strange nodded. “Oh, yes. Very much so. When handling powerful reagents such as these, there are many opportunities for catastrophic failure.” he said in a conversational tone as he turned around and began walking towards the steps. No, wait. He wasn’t walking. He was…floating! His feet were hovering just above the ground, while the rest of his body was being pushed forward by some unseen force. “Although, I haven’t seen a strain quite like this one. I’ll have to run a few tests.” Strange continued. “Fine with us, magic man.” Cat said absentmindedly. You had a pretty good idea of why she wanted to stay. “Thanks again. And sorry for disturbing you, by the way.” you added. “I didn’t realize you actually, uh…slept. Figured you had a spell or potion so that you could do your work ‘round the clock.” “I do, but I don’t like using them.” Strange confirmed. “Sleep is a valuable commodity these days, and I’d rather not lose it. It’s also good for your mental health. The spells and potions can keep you awake and alert for a long while, but they cannot heal the brain damage that such a decision would cause.” As Strange continued to speak, your attention drifted away from his words and began to latch onto the rustic appearance of the Sanctum. It seemed like it would cost a fortune to live here, and you weren’t entirely sure if the good doctor was keen on paying taxes. Was he capable of hypnotizing the IRS, or was his presence here something that warranted tax exemptions? It was a question to look into for sure. —----- The deeper you went into the Sanctum, the less sense it made. You were certain now that the building was far larger than it had any right to be. The hallways were long and seemingly endless. The winding staircases went up into infinity, and the walls were constantly shifting and folding into one another to lead to secret passageways. You were thoroughly convinced that if you or your friends ever broke in here, you’d quickly find yourself lost, or dead. Strange led you through several rooms. Each one, more fantastical than the last. (Cont.)

There was a library where books flew like birds and formed platforms for other guests to step on as they traversed the upper levels. Strange warned you explicitly not to touch any books, and you were properly motivated once you saw what looked like a flock of books ganging up on an old grimoire, and picking it avert savagely. You and Cat stared in horror, and in gross curiosity. There was a museum that displayed nightmarish skeletons for the sorcerer to study. Or maybe they were simply trophies. Either way, you had no desire to see what they had looked like when they were alive and healthy. Anastasia might, though. You’d have to ask the doctor about paying him to be a tour guide someday. The next room was a greenhouse, and strangely enough, it wasn’t your destination. Various plants, vines and tendrils reached out to grab at you as you passed, and you felt your spider sense tingling ever so slightly in the back of your mind. Something, or various “somethings” wanted very much to hurt you in this room. You remained alert, trying not to jump at the flowers that bloomed and turned to face you as if they were watching. Strange didn’t seem to mind, so he must’ve been confident in his ability to prevent any “accidents” from occurring. Finally, you arrived at a lab of some sort. It was somehow the most normal looking room out of all of the ones you’d visited tonight. There were a bunch of oddly shaped beakers and alchemical tools strewn about the tables, but nothing that seemed like it could come alive and kill you at a moment’s notice. The books that lined the walls were distinctly inanimate, and there was a noticeable lack of piranha plants. You relaxed a bit, and pretended not to notice the way that Cat was roaming around the room. If Strange minded at all, he didn’t say anything. —------- Admittedly, the tests and experiments took a bit longer than you’d expected. So much so that you thought that it might’ve been better to drop them off and come back later. The thoroughness with which he examined the fairy flowers was admirable in its own right, but you were sort of hoping that he could cast an appraisal spell on them and tell you exactly what you wanted to know. You rolled up your sleeve, checked your watch, and gawked at it for a moment. Was this thing broken? It says that only 15 minutes have passed since you entered the Sanctum. It felt more like 2 hours and some change. You expected Cat to be as miserable as you were, but she seemed to be having the time of her life. Anything that she pocketed was somehow magically lifted out of her possession and returned to its original position. Strange was apparently perfectly capable of splitting his focus, and had been keeping an eye on the beautiful burglar. At first, the two of you froze in fear, wondering what sort of punishment the sorcerer would mete out as a result of Cat’s actions. (Cont.)

Scorekeeper !!urZ1qzDpXky ID:YhbBs4j9 Wed 10 Aug 2022 21:20:49 No. 5368884 Report But surprisingly, he didn’t seem all that upset. On the contrary, he and Felicia seemed to be making a game out of it. She would attempt to steal something when she thought he wasn’t paying attention, and he would foil her plans using some magic trick or another.
Sometimes, the stolen property would fly right out of her pockets or cleavage. Other times, it would just melt in her hands and then blink back into existence, exactly where it had been before. It was admittedly very entertaining to watch, but Cat forbade you from watching too closely, lest you give away her cover.
Thankfully, Strange’s experiments didn’t take much longer. Once he was done, he waved you both over.
“The properties of this particular strain are rather fascinating, but not complicated enough for me to seek outside help.” he declared. “There are multiple ways to utilize such rare materials. With specific instructions, you could plant and cultivate them in a plot of land, and their sweet smell would regularly attract fairies, regardless of the realm that they might originate from. The type of fae that arrive, and their reaction to your flowers will vary based on what you plant there along with them.”
That’d be an impressive sight for sure. It would also give you opportunities to freely converse with magical creatures.
“As for their alchemical properties, there are more than a few ways to make use of these flowers.” Strange provided. “They have many applications, such as strengthening certain spells, anointing charms or divination tools, and guiding astral projections. The possibilities are seemingly endless when you know how to handle them correctly.”
