>>5350476Given the scenario, I fully expect all of this to end in horror and tragedy.
That being said, I can still see how something such as ourselves could function in greater society: we go into business for ourselves.
Consider that we have made a profit working in the middle of nowhere while supernatural forces tear down our establishment every alternating night as our own employees try to kill us every single night. How much money could we make running a non-haunted business, especially when you take away the arbitrary quota to murder our own customers?
Who knows, maybe we could eventually fake our death and recruit some off-market or refurbished robots or hell, "liberate" some of our fellow staff in order to operate a legitimate business somewhere and make a killing not having to survive/repair from scratch every night.
Maybe we can start now by discretely stashing away a cut of our daily profits into a nest egg to use as future starting capital.
It's a pipe dream, sure, and it may even be impossible given what we know, but I feel like that would be the most sensible and beneficial long-term option for ourselves and our cohorts - escape this rat race to the bottom and take control of our own destiny.
Submitting to Corporate's interests and keeping up with the grind will inevitably end up in us either finally being killed by some kind of god-monster, or becoming the very same kind of bloodthirsty god-monsters that we are trying to survive.
I don't know about you guys, but as awesome as becoming an unstoppable killing machine might be, one day I would like to retire to someplace that has air conditioning, running water, and internet that isn't dial-up.
That being said, time will tell and we may have to just roll with the breaks we're given. Still, it's nice to have a distant goal in mind.
