You’re a bandit.
You steal things. Food, water, valuables, weapons, whatever. Born with a knife affinity, you were expected to be some undesirable. Well. you sure showed them alright.
Today was a rather quiet day on the outskirts, and that’s no good. Who were you gonna rob? All that passed was a caravan returning from the forest villages. You haven’t the foggiest what they were up to, nor did you try to find out.
After they passed, you waited for another. Villagers going to or from the markets, or a party with too much loot than sense. Ah, there’s someone. A lone Adventurer, and a bit too off guard, strolling along without a care.
Purse seems light, and he clearly doesn’t look experienced at all. A sword rests on his back with a cheap and flimsy sling. Stupid arrogant Swordite. Explains everything really. Look at me, I’ve got the sword, I’m set for life, I’m going places. Ugh.
Readying a knife, you wait for him to pass, and back presented to you, sprung out of the side. No, you weren’t going to slay him, that’s for amateurs. Grasping the scabbard in the offhand, and a quick slicing motion with the other, you free the sword from his person and disappear into the bushes.
You ran, not bothering to see if he was giving chase. Certainly didn’t hear any protests. Must’ve been in shock being put in his place for probably the first time in his life. Imagine that, a high and mighty Swordite robbed to the embarrassment of the town.
Unsheathing the sword, you’ve gotten a good look at it. The handle’s exquisitely engraved, while the blade itself was of a black metal rather than the usual, contrasting heavily with the golden crescent crossguard. Surprisingly easy to wield too and that’s saying something as weapons you don’t have an affinity for didn’t feel intuitive at all.
It’d fetch a hefty sum on the black market on it exotic factor alone. Just gotta get it there, so you return onto the roads. Activity was real low as earlier, so you were taken by surprise when someone was passing by in a hurry. They might be from the caravan, and they’re voicing their concerns about forgetting someone.
“Excuse me but I have to ask, did you pass by a youth walking down this road?” An innocent enough question. You turn to face him to give your response.
“Why, yes sir I have. He’s further down from here.” The truth should work well enough but alas, he already saw through you, drawing his sword.
“Then I’ll see to him once I return the sword, thief! Lay your arms down and surrender.” Damn. Why couldn’t you also be a moron? No time to think about what exactly gave you away. That stance unfortunately tells you he's trained, but he won’t be expecting you to be able to draw this as well. However, if the surprise fails, you won’t be able to beat him at all, not to mention, less coin for damaged goods.
>[3d100 +??] [Hard] Attack him with the sword
>[3d100 +10] [Very Hard] Hope to lose him in the wild
>Yield
