Vampires are superior in virtually every way to the baseline race they originally belonged to
Vampires are effectively immune to the ravages of time, being ageless, they are also considerably stronger, faster and more resilient than a baseline member of their race.
Vampires also possess enhanced senses and the ability to see in the dark.
They also gain a basic psychic connection with vampire that turned them, and using blood magic can amplify their psychic abilities.
Drinking blood grants them additional temporary strength and power and can be used to heal severe wounds rapidly.
They have 3 main weaknesses, the element of fire, along with heat and light, their endless thirst and the natural revulsion and outright hatred they receive from almost any other intelligent creature.
There must be at least a 5 to 1 thrall to Vampire population balance to adequately keep all the Vampires fed without having to kill thralls. Your population can expand through two ways, turning people into vampires, or enthralling sentient creatures. Enthrallments require rolls and are not always successful, being based on circumstances, and blood magic powers.
Failed enthrallments result in psychologically shattered individuals, who respond in various ways, some being completely catatonic, going into comas, and going stark raving mad violently attacking the people around them.
The Thralls are humans that have had their minds completely broken and brainwashed by the Coven, they serve as the laborers and lower class in Coven society, they are utilized as “bloodstock” by the Coven, with a human giving blood in a once weekly religious devotion to Clarissa, the Vampiric Goddess of Life and Death. It requires 5 thralls to maintain one Vampire, with Vampires getting weakened the worse the ratio between thralls and vampires gets. A vampire that does not feed for several weeks will wither and die.
Recently turned Vampires are weakly willed and are subservient to the Vampire that turned them, but will slowly become more powerful and independent minded over time.
