Today is my first day of High School. I'm excited and terrified but about what on either account I don't know...
Today I woke up; took a shower; brushed my teeth. Whilst brushing my teeth I gazed up into the mirror and was shocked to find looking at me no reflection! Where did I go? I honestly couldn't remember what I looked like.
I'm a 16 year old American male—I certainly know that much—but what is my race? height? weight? what do I look like? Good God! what is my name? how can I forget that?! and am I religious? What's wrong with me today? what is today? what year is it?
This is my first ever thread on this board so I'm sure it will be shitty. I really hope you like it nonetheless.
P.S.—I will be draw-fagging ITT.

Scanning across the room, I couldn't help but espy the visage of the only black individual in the classroom.
I was shaking. I need to approach him, but how?
I have to relate to him somehow but I am not particularly well-versed in Afro-American Black culture. The only rappers I know are Tupac, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Biggie. Does he like any of those guys? I don't want to assume... Oh God, am I a racist? why don't I know more black culture? I might just have to interact with him later...

After the deep despair and anxiety I felt upon contemplating my necessary future interactions with that African-American gentleman I turned my head and saw a girl who immediately captured my attention.
Her hair was as blue as her eyes and she wore round glasses, a choker, and a nose-ring. I couldn't help but internally remark at how liberated she looked. I must make her acquaintance, I thought. She definitely looks like she's down for the cause.

The Brotha's name is Tresean Wayne. He's 17 and enjoys soccer, programming, and reading. (That's fucking awesome! he seems so cool! brains and brawn. Wow. Just, wow. The man is fit!)
The Blue-Haired queen's name is Zoey Argota. She's 17 and is interested in art, music, and becoming a veterinarian. (Fuck yeah, I bet she's a rocker too. I can def relate to her now. I have a entire libraries full of playlists that she would enjoy. I just have to find all the non-lame songs to show her—but, what songs are those?)
The Blond-Haired queen's name is Zander Holland. He's 16, and interested in photography, video games, and make up. (Wow, he's such a unique soul)
The Asian fellow's name is James Jong; his interests are philosophy, writing, and photography (yup, I was right. How was it so easy?)
Elizabeth is 16, and is interested in science, cooking, and being around kids. (yikes, who actually wants to be around kids?)

Not trying to disagree (because /qst/ is pretty slow), but you might get more responses if you make it more clear when you're done writing updates and maybe provide a few choices. Simply tallying votes and saying 'votes closed, writing' will give new readers an idea of when input's required.
Similarly, asking for Write-In responses might scare people off, especially early on unless it's a drawquest or something. A good method to try is the '3 choices and a Write-In' approach. For example:

What songs should be on the playlist?
>Classic Rock: Zepp, AC/DC, Nirvana
>Rap: Snoop, 50 Cent, Tupac
>Classical: Beethoven, Mozart, Bach
>Write-in

It seems contrived, but that sometimes helps coax out players. Might not be a bad idea to take a look at a few other quests on the board too and see how they format their updates--might help a little bit.
Anywho, I hope I don't sound condescending or anything--just thought I'd offer some advice since it's your first one and all. In the interest of keeping things alive, I'll vote for...
