You are near Viridian Forest when you see a massive lightning strike not too far away. Seeing a bunch of small bird Pokémon fly away from it's location. You decide you might as well check it out and see if you can profit from it somehow. Of course you probably won't get any rare or powerful Pokémon but it could still make for a decent first haul. When you arrive you do indeed spot a number of unconscious Spearow, as well as what you assume to be a trainer and Pikachu near the wreck of a bike. You briefly consider taking the Pikachu but decide against it as stealing a trainer's Pokémon strikes you as too big a risk. Instead you decide to catch as many Spearow as you can.>Give me 1d6 Bo3 for how many Spearow you manage to catch.

Since you notice the Spearow is still dazed and thus clearly not in top condition you send out Rattata. "Quick Attack!" The instant your partner materializes you give the order and the rat Pokémon charges at his opponent. The Spearow meanwhile gives up on his attempt to take to the sky but since it is too late for it to dodge uses the only move it still has still time for before Rattata rams into it.
While the leer did lower your partner's defense the damage from Quick Attack was almost enough to knock the wild Spearow out again. Confident that it is weakened enough you throw your last Poké Ball feeling confident you will catch this one last Bird Pokémon as well

After returning Rattata you collect your bounty and leave the trainer and Pikachu to contact HQ so you can tell them about your succes. After walking for five minutes you come into a clearing and take out your satellite phone and dial your handler. "Agent 601139 here, I've managed to get my hands on several Spearow and want to set up collection and delivery to HQ." "Spearow heh? I guess there are worse choices, still you managed that pretty fast so good job." As expected they aren't too impressed but still give you credit where it is due. "All right, since you're near Viridian City leave the Balls under the potted tree on the right of the Gym at 7:15 at the latest and then go to the Center to meet your new teammate." Before you can ask anything else your handler hangs up. Not knowing what else to do you decide to do as you're told. Checking your watch you see it's about 7:10. A quick look around shows no one is watching you so you begin placing the Poké Balls as instructed, when you get an idea. Instead of worrying about right now you decide to handle the healing first since Spearow has taken quite a beating. Luckily no one is at the counter. "Hey Nurse Joy, could you check out this Spearow? I think it was hit by lightning or something." You let the still unconscious Spearow out on the counter.

A bit vague but it's not like you can just ask if he is a Team Rocket member. "So what if I am, old man?" Okay, he is clearly trying way too hard and is annoying enough that you hope you picked the wrong person but you have to be sure.

At the same time that Spearow goes back in his Ball, you throw the other one. As planned it hits Oddish in the face though it doesn't do a lot of damage. "Hey!" Jay seems to want to complain about you fighting dirty bur remembering the Absorb realizes he has no foot to stand on.
"Absorb again!" "Quick attack to the left followed by another Quick Attack." Moving fast Rattata easily dodges Poisonmaster's attempt to drain health from him before launching himself at her. Oddish isn't down yet but both you and Jay know the fight is essentially over. "Finish it with a tackle."

RocketHandler !!ks5cOj6pxT0 ID:bHkFIWwm Sun 19 Feb 2023 07:12:32 No. 5573752 Report "You know while we're here we might as well do some training and look for Pokémon." "You can look for new Pokémon, I have no interest in butterflies or birds." You ignore Jay's comment and you both send your 'mon out, not wanting to waste time in case you find a good target for them to beat up. For the most part you encounter, Caterpie, Kakuna, Weedle, and Metapod, non of which are a threat to your team and all your Pokémon grow stronger with Rattata even learning Hyperfang to deal with a particularly Hardened Kakuna, something that earns him a look from Flying Deathbringer. Speaking of Jay's Kakuna during the training he got singled out by a wild Spearow and seemed to be doing a little better than he did against 'Row but was still on the losing side. Poisonmaster came to his aid though and together they defeated the Bird Pokemon. You don't know if it's because the experience or because Flying Deathbringer was angry enough but after that fight he evolved into Beedrill. "Yes! Now, you won't be able to make fun of his name anymore." You congratulate Jay, confident that 'Row has grown strong enough to still be able to win. That said it seemed Jay was right none of these Pokémon were ones you wanted to catch and you were getting close to Pewter City. In face you could see route 2 in the distance. It's at roughly that point you come across a Nidoran and Bellsprout fighting each other.>Will you try to catch them and if so who'll go for Nidoran and who will go for Bellsprout?

Unfortunately for him you wanted both of these Pokémon. So when Jay threw his Poké Ball with a yell of "Poké Ball Go!" you yelled something else instead. "Quick attack!" Just as you wanted Rattata intercepted Jay's throw. The downside was that both Bellsprout and Nidoran now knew you were there. Not wanting to give them time to escape, you quickly threw two Poké Balls and managed to catch them both. "You dick!"
Jay clearly wasn't happy with this outcome, which wasn't unexpected. You weren't too worried though, it was not like he could do anything about it "What, you wanna fight about it." He seemed to be considering it but a glance at "Row and Rattata changed his mind.
Not wanting to waste to any of the loot from the Pokémart you two headed for the Pokécenter and after your Pokémon were healed went upstairs to discuss your plans for the gym.

You spend a few resting at the "Center before heading out well after the sun has set.
In the way to the Gym you act as casual as possible and even talk about this and that with Jay whose short terse answers show he is still angry. Eventually you arrive at the Gym and while you know better than to expect a lucky break walk around the entire building to look for an easy way in.
The best entry point you find is a window facing away from any nearby buildings that is just big enough. "What do you think?" Jay doesn't answer but sends out Beedrill. "Break that glass with Fury Stinger." As ordered Poison Bee Pokémon's stinger hit the glass several times until the frame is completely clear.

"I want you to watch the building and if someone tries to come make as much noise while bothering them, but get to safety if they have any Pokémon. I can't risk you getting taken while unconscious." As 'Row flies to the roof of the Gym you follow Jay in.
The room you're in doesn't have any Poké Balls and instead seems to be an office of some kind, filled with paperwork of all kind.
> Take some of the papers > Just move on Jay is peeking into the hallway. "Better keep this door open, it locks automatically." You look through the room and notice a scotchtape dispenser. You use the tape to cover the cylinders and have Jay leave the room to see if he can still open it while you remain inside. The tape does it's job and before long both of you are in the hallway.
It isn't too hard to spot the room to most likely hold all of the Gym's Poké Balls as there is just one heavily locked door. "I might be able to pick the lock but it will take time."

>>5579109 >>5579110 As you run through the city it doesn't take long before "Row lets you know you're being followed, not that he needed too as as you could both hear the sound of the motor. Looking back you see Officer Jenny, quickly catching up to you. "Crap!" You realize you can't outrun her, so you'll have to fight. Since between Jay and you you have three Pokémon weak to fire you're at a disadvantage, if you played fair that is. You whisper your plan to Jay, after you stopped running. "Just send out one "mon first. Then when she is away from that bike we can surround her with the others."
It doesn't take long before Jenny catches up top you and sends her Growlithe after leaving her bike, while Jay sends out his Oddish. "You are not coming along quietly are you? Growlithe use.." "Peck!" You interrupt her, picking the weaker attack on purpose wanting her to underestimate you. As "Row pecks at the Growlithe Jay and you slowly back away, Jenny following you.
"Ember!" Having learned from your interruption Jenny just the name of the attack and Oddish is hit by a small ball of fire. "Use Absorb!" As the green energy balls hit the cop you nod to Jay and you both send out your entire team, positioned so that Jenny and Growlithe are surrounded.
Realizing the trap, Jenny reaches for her walkie talkie. "Quick Attack on her!" Ratatta manages to interrupt her however. "Posionpowder" You both order your Grass/Posion Types beofre you turn to "Row. "Use your wings to keep the powder away from us." It doesn't take long before the posioncloud knocks both Jenny and Growlithe out and once it's dissipated you walk up to the unconscious officer, trading two of your antidotes for the keys of her bike.
"Why do I have to sit behind you?" Jay complains as you ride your new vehicle out of Pewter City.

As soon as you're a decent distance back on Route 2 you park the bike. "Get off, we're leaving the bike here." "Why? If you don't like it we can sell it. It sure beats walking like a couple of morons." You explain to Jay that it is no doubt bugged with a tracker of some kind. He then points out that the cops will know you're headed to Viridian Forest. After some thinking you explain your plan.
About ten minutes later the two of you are hiding among the branches of a tall tree, waiting for the cops to pass you by. It takes about half an hour but then you spot them in the distance, about five minutes later you climb doen and head back into town. Without stopping but also making sure you don't look like you're rushing you head to route three, until you're in a corner of Mt Moon.

You expect it to be recipes or maybe tips to train Rock-types but it turns out to be a collection of eye-witness reports on an unusual Onix from the last ten years. According to the reports this Onix is not only bigger, stronger and more aggressive than normal but is also supposed to have glowing red eyes.
"Can you believe this? I mean I understand he has to look into it but these rumors are never true." "I don't know man, those glowing red eyes sound pretty cool." Of course Jay would think that. "Anyway lets look at the rest first." This time jou put the badges down to count them and it turns out you managed to steal five of them. "Time for the main event."
Knowing the stolen Pokémon will most likely not be happy with you both Poisonmaster and Bellsprout are sent out to protect you in case they try something. Unfortunately most of the 'Balls turn out to be empty but you did manage to get your hands on four Geodude and three Onix and of course several more Poké Balls. Some of the Rock-types indeed try to cause trouble but you manage to put them down without any getting away, at the cost of most of your Potions
