Elfler, hurt and dismayed decides to enter the cloning area against the recommendations of those around him. Perhaps entering was a mistake, but Elfler cannot bear his loneliness anymore. He enters and sees his friends, stripped of all flesh and sinew, and recalling all the drinks, campfires, smiles and stories from a time long ago he begins to break down. Who would’ve thought such an elf could… cry. Not just sorrow, not just sadness, but pure unadulterated agony, a chilling cry that cuts through heart and bone, yet somehow those who listen are still breathing. After what feels like an eternity Elfler arrises from the cold ground, a small puddle is left where his face once was.
He then walks the skulls, and remembers every one of his friends in vivid detail. He takes out a knife, and carves Elven runes into the skull. He then lines the bones up as best as he can with his memories of his friend, and recreates the body of his old friend. He then pulls out a handful of pots, and reveals a rather large sack of dirt. Once finished filling, he places a seed and uses what little magic he can muster to create a small, floating flame.
One remembers hearing of how elves buried their kind, outside with a tree over the body, and the future generations would see such a beautiful forest branching with life and joy in the place their fathers and mothers where laid to rest. Perhaps this is Elfler’s attempt at giving them a proper burial. He then, one by one, systematically carves Elven runes into the skulls and one by one, goes through the motions for every dead friend. There is a pattern one cannot help but notice, an heartfelt art. Leaving an Elven heart, their drawn expression for love and commitment. He goes pale, collapsing in the corner, silent and unmoving. His heart beating, shallow but beating.
(For context, Elfler isn’t having a heart attack/dying, and will refuse to leave if asked and will not accept medical attention. He hasn’t destroyed anything, he just moved stuff, planted a few plants, and the fake suns produce their own light and heat, essentially a flame with UV lights. If someone tries to forcefully move him, he will fight back with magic and hand to hand combat. But he will only do such non-lethally if you decide to do such)
