You grew up in the village of Trax, named after a legendary hero born here. In the center of the village by the water fountain there is a stone statue of the hero, wielding an actual sword. Despite being exposed to the elements, the sword is always shining and sharp, the elders say it is magical. It has a big red ruby encrusted in its hilt.
One day as you were returning from cutting some firewood, you see a commotion in the center of town. A dark robbed figure is at the center of the chaos.

"This guy was trying to steal the sword of the hero!"

"Yeah, I saw it too! Who the hell are you?"

"Take out your hoodie so we can see you!"

"Fall back you all! My master told me to retrieve that gem and that is what I am going to do! HELLFIRE!"

He casts some sort of spell and a dark fire ignites around him in a radius, burning a lot of people, even killing some. The stench of burnt human meat fills the air as the hooded man utters another incantation. He begins to glow with a dark aura and then he breaks off the arm of the statue.

With the arm in his hand he then tries to grab the gem. But he suffers some sort of powerful shockwave and is sent flying in the air.

He recovers soon enough however, and walks towards the blade.

You weren't thinking straight for sure, but you run to the blade ahead of him and grasp it, raising it against the hooded man defiantly.

You hear him chuckling.

"Take the gem out of this sword and toss it to me, boy, and I will let you live."
