Ah yes, Dal, how could I forget? You're the village's apprentice blacksmith, though not for much longer.
The mysterious orphan girl, who was raised more-or-less communally, did odd jobs around the town as she grew up, and was paid in food. Used to be that she slept in the old Horner house, the one that half-burned down, but when you were eleven, your parents took her in if she'd agree to marry you. They said it was so she could truly be part of the town, but you're pretty sure they just wanted her pendant. It's shaped like a half-moon, and it sure looks expensive, even though it ain't magic... probably. But no one knows what kind of rock it's made of.
It's been a long day of smithing, and your arms are sore from fixing broken horseshoes all day. It's only two days before your eighteenth birthday, marriage, and the opening up of your own official smithy. You trek back to your family's home, but you see a glittering of silver on the edge of the forest. Knowing what it is, you go to see your fiancee dancing on a flat gray rock under the moonlight, her plain white dress, albino skin, and silver hair shining under the moonlight. On one of her fingers: a plain golden engagement ring. It's much less impressive than her pendant, but you made it yourself.
You watch her play swordfight with a long stick she picked up from the brush around her. She's better than anyone else in the village, though no one taught her. After a while, she notices you watching.
"Dal!" you hear, and she jumps down and rushes to your side. She presses against you, but her skin seems slightly too cool, and her hair seems to flow slightly too slowly behind her as she moves. Her golden eyes look into yours. "Are you ready for our day, beloved?"
"Of course, Alathrandra," you say, stroking her chin. Her name is the only part of her history she remembers.
"I wish my parents could be here, like yours," she sighs. "Would that I knew whom to invite, or where! But what will be my wedding gift?" she asks, blushing. "I already have one for you."
Of course, you won't spoil the surprise. You already hid her wedding gift in the smithy, where you forged it yourself. Which item will you give her in two days' time?
>A real sword, made of steel
>Another pendant that matches hers, made of silver
>A compass, in case she ever gets lost sneaking into the forest, made of copper
>A harp, like the one she likes to play when only you're around, made of brass
>A brand new pitchfork, for her future life baling hay in the barn, made of iron
